Chapter 186: Chapter 186: The Beautiful Assistant
"Why should I leave?"
Jiang Linda looked up at Li Feng and counter-questioned, Li Feng curled his lips and said, "Aren’t you with Zhou Jie? He left, and it’s strange he didn’t take you with him."
"You wouldn’t happen to be staying on purpose to act as a spy, would you?"
Li Feng stepped forward and casually sat on the edge of her desk, looking at the poised Jiang Linda. Although he hadn’t had much interaction with her, he could tell she was a competent woman.
Faced with Li Feng’s accusation, Jiang Linda didn’t show the slightest bit of panic. Instead, she leaned casually in her chair with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Are you questioning me, intern?"
"Although I am Zhou Jie’s assistant, I am first and foremost an employee of the company. Zhou Jie leaving does not mean I have to leave. I enjoy my work here, and I would like to continue working here—is that not allowed?"
"Moreover, if the president thinks my previous role makes me unsuitable to stay, then let the president fire me. You aren’t in a position to boss me around or gossip about me."
Jiang Linda’s gaze was intense as she looked at Li Feng.
Li Feng looked back at the sharp Jiang Linda and clicked his tongue, "Regardless of what purpose you have for staying, with that fiery spirit of yours, you’ve caught my interest."
Li Feng jumped down from the desk and turned to leave. Jiang Linda’s eyes followed him as he walked away; this guy was truly a handful.
Although their interactions were few, the ease with which Li Feng had previously resolved that case with Hua Yun Group was truly surprising.
And she still didn’t understand how Li Feng managed to get the chairman of Hua Yun Group to apologize and offer compensation voluntarily, especially since that chairman was the client.
It made no sense at all.
To make things even stranger, the previous chairman of Hua Yun had even come over and clung to Li Feng’s legs in a plea for help. How on earth had he accomplished that?
By relying on his status as a son-in-law?
What a joke.
Everyone knew the term ’son-in-law’ was pejorative. Although Myth Communication indeed had the backing of Wang Group, would they really pressure Hua Yun Group for the sake of a son-in-law?
It didn’t make sense.
If it were about the president’s daughter stepping in, perhaps it would be possible, but Hua Yun Group was on the same side as Myth Communication, not in opposition. Wang Group would never suppress their own client, the Hua Yun Group.
In any case, the matter was totally baffling. Last night, Zhou Jie took her out and indeed asked her to stay on at Myth Communication to spy and relay information to Zhou Jie. Jiang Linda knew it was morally wrong, yet she agreed.
"Why are you back here? Didn’t I say, if there’s nothing important, don’t loiter around me?"
Wang Jin’er looked at Li Feng with a cold voice.
"I have important business."
"You? Having legitimate business?"
Li Feng felt a bit insulted by Wang Jin’er’s words—why couldn’t he have some legitimate business?
"I’ve come to request someone from you, Jiang Linda, I want her."
Wang Jin’er looked up sharply at Li Feng and stood up with a slam, "Li Feng, don’t overdo it, this is an office, not a place for you to pick up girls."
Li Feng saw Wang Jin’er grinding her teeth and placed his hand on his forehead.
"Listen, Madam President, what are you thinking? I want her as my assistant, not to date her."
"Oh, right, since Zhou Jie has left, give me his office too."
Wang Jin’er’s face turned red—indeed, she hadn’t managed to step out of the mindset that Li Feng was a major womanizer.
"Isn’t Jiang Linda Zhou Jie’s assistant? She didn’t leave?" Wang Jin’er had an impression of Jiang Linda, after all, she was Zhou Jie’s assistant, and Zhou Jie was previously a partner and vice president of the company, so it was natural that she had seen her a few times.
"Yes, I just saw her outside, she’s probably the one Zhou Jie left behind to watch us."
Upon hearing this, Wang Jin’er looked strangely at Li Feng, "You know she was deliberately left by Zhou Jie, and yet you still want her as your assistant?"
"Just because he was left by Zhou Jie, I want her to be my assistant. Zhou Jie wants to see me make a fool of myself, to know my every move and then play his games with me, right? I’ll give him the chance."
"I could play my cards openly with him and still crush him, make him unable to raise his head. Don’t you find that thrilling?" Li Feng said with a curl of his lip.
Wang Jin’er looked at Li Feng with a pout: "Who knows if that’s really what you’re thinking."
Jiang Linda is quite a beauty, a professional office woman. Having met her a few times, even I have to admit that her capable and intellectual aura is very attractive.
"Are you jealous?"
Wang Jin’er snorted.
"Jealous? Since you think so highly of her, then let her be your assistant. Anyway, we’ll see who’s right in a month."
Li Feng had achieved his goal. Leaving the CEO’s office, he returned to Zhou Jie’s office: "Assistant Jiang, I look forward to our future cooperation."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Jiang Linda lifted her eyes to look at Li Feng, who had come back.
"Starting from now, you are my assistant. Zhou Jie left you here to keep an eye on me, right? Being my assistant, you can watch me whenever you want."
"How about it, are you happy or not?"
Jiang Linda looked at Li Feng, who was squinting with a shallow smile; she couldn’t understand this man at all.
"You’re really making me your assistant? If I really were left by Zhou Jie, aren’t you afraid?"
Li Feng laughed: "What do I have to fear? My conscience is clear, so I fear no crooked shadows. Him? I could poke him to death with one hand and four fingers."
"What about you, Assistant Jiang? You’re not afraid, are you?"
Li Feng turned the tables, and Jiang Linda bit her lip, looking at Li Feng’s mocking expression. He had laid out all his cards; if she didn’t accept, was there any point in staying at Myth Communication?
"Alright, if you dare, so do I."
"Then, let’s have a pleasant cooperation, Assistant Jiang." Li Feng extended his hand, but Jiang Linda snorted, not giving Li Feng any face.
"There’s no need for a handshake."
Li Feng looked at Jiang Linda: "Assistant Jiang, aren’t you afraid that offending your superior like this will lead to me making your life difficult?"
Jiang Linda glared at the smug Li Feng: "Pleasant cooperation," she said through gritted teeth.
Li Feng laughed heartily: "Work hard. I’ll go check out my office."
Li Feng walked into Zhou Jie’s office. As a partner and vice president, this office was naturally only second to the CEO’s office in spaciousness. Li Feng walked behind the desk and plopped down in the executive chair, putting his feet up on the desk and lighting up a cigarette.
"Assistant Jiang, make me a cup of coffee, will you?"
Hearing the intercom, Jiang Linda turned her head to look at Li Feng through a glass wall, this was too much.
Jiang Linda stood up and went to the break area, pouring a cup of coffee directly, but she added quite a lot to the coffee.
Hmph.
I dare to make the coffee; do you dare to drink it?
Jiang Linda carried the coffee into the office, looking at the utterly shameless Li Feng: "Here’s your coffee."
Li Feng picked up the coffee and sniffed it: "You didn’t add anything to it, did you?"
"You asked me to make it for you. Whether you drink it or not is none of my concern. If there’s nothing else, I’m going out,"
Li Feng watched as Jiang Linda, ready to leave, spoke: "Wait."
"What is it now?"
"Get ready, we have a project to handle outside."
