Chapter 362: The Potently Named
By now, the tall male student had already noticed Lin Zifeng’s presence, as Lin Zifeng was sitting quite close to the young girl.
The tall male student moved indifferently beside Lin Zifeng and arrogantly kicked Lin Zifeng’s foot with his own.
He didn’t speak but instead signaled with a strange look for Lin Zifeng to leave.
Lin Zifeng slowly raised his head, just glancing at him faintly, then lowered his head and took out a cigarette from his pocket, casually smoking it, ignoring the other’s unreasonable behavior.
Seeing Lin Zifeng somewhat clueless, the male student couldn’t help but kick his foot again, his gaze once again warning him to be wise and walk away.
Lin Zifeng still ignored him, repeatedly tolerating his irrational actions.
"Hey buddy, do you really not understand, or are you pretending not to?" the tall male student finally couldn’t restrain himself any longer, turning his head with a somewhat exasperated voice.
"Are you sick!" Lin Zifeng retorted directly.
Taken aback by Lin Zifeng’s sudden insult, the tall male student momentarily stiffened. His entire six-foot-three frame looked somewhat bewildered.
His piercing gaze swept over Lin Zifeng once more, his whole demeanor shifting somewhat.
"Kid, what department are you from?" the tall male student was already angry, but because of the young girl beside him, he restrained his emotion, trying not to let himself explode. He nearly spit the words through clenched teeth.
After cursing, Lin Zifeng once again lowered his head, continuing to smoke his cigarette.
At that moment, the young girl seemed to notice something. She turned her cute little head and swept her gaze over Lin Zifeng a few times, looking a bit surprised, but she quickly continued looking at her own mirror, pretending not to know anything.
She had seen plenty of these acts of rage for the sake of a beautiful woman, and had long since stopped being surprised by them.
However, she was somewhat amazed by the courage Lin Zifeng had just displayed; she hadn’t expected that this seemingly handsome and skinny young man beside her would be so fearless under the threat of his peers.
"I’m talking to you!" Under the girl’s gaze, seeing that Lin Zifeng was ignoring him, the tall male student’s face visibly darkened. This was clearly disrespectful. Life revolves around face, and being so blatantly disregarded, the tall male student started to get annoyed.
He kicked Lin Zifeng’s foot again. Only this time, contrary to his expectations, the opponent really got fired up.
Lin Zifeng suddenly stood up before the tall male student’s foot could even touch him. A whip of his leg instantly landed on the tall male student’s waist.
With a "snap," the tall male student, standing six feet tall, was flung by Lin Zifeng’s leg straight out of the gazebo towards the lawn outside.
The man smashed hard onto the grass, landing in a comically inelegant faceplant.
When the tall male student quickly got up,
aside from the young girl, that freak had already vanished...
Even the young girl who had been primping herself was taken aback, stunned for nearly three minutes...
After an afternoon of searching, he had finally found the elusive Archaeology Department.
To Lin Zifeng’s surprise, the entire Archaeology Department was so sparsely populated as to be maddening.
Looking around, the vast classroom contained only a smattering of about a dozen male students. What dumbfounded Lin Zifeng the most was that in the spacious classroom, there were only men, all men... What was this rhythm?
Could it be that Yunhai University’s Archaeology Department was this neglected?
Lin Zifeng’s facial muscles slightly ached, and with a sense of resignation, he picked a spot by the window and sat down under the naked stares of the dozen male students.
Originally, he thought he was pretty old, feeling quite different from these little brats.
But then Lin Zifeng realized just how youthful he looked, barely even twenty years old. Looking around at the classroom full of nerdy creatures wearing glasses, each with a dull gaze, their faces busy like a sesame seed cake, it was simply too awful to behold!
From the moment Lin Zifeng walked in, dozens of eyes hadn’t stopped staring at him.
At that moment, a guy not far from Lin Zifeng suddenly smiled enthusiastically and asked, "Hey, bro, where are you from?"
Lin Zifeng casually glanced back at him and, seeing that this guy’s face was more pimpled than a butt, politely said, "I’m from Zhonghai City." Lin Zifeng smiled.
"Oh, I haven’t seen you around, bro. Are you new here today?" the nerdy guy asked again, gossip-hungry as ever.
"Yes," Lin Zifeng replied, really not wanting to chat with this nerdy character, because every time he noticed his eyes, Lin Zifeng felt there was a weird vibe about him, definitely the typical backpacker type.
"You also chose the Archaeology Department?" the nerdy guy continued to pry.
"Yes, yes," Lin Zifeng answered with a fake smile.
"Bro, you’ve got guts! You’re awesome!" the nerdy guy exclaimed, giving a thumbs up.
"It’s okay, it’s okay."
"My name is Shao Huo. What’s your honorable surname, bro?"
X?
Such a crappy name—
Lin Zifeng secretly shuddered, sincerely marvelling how perceptive brother X’s parents must have been; the name perfectly matched his full-on nerdy persona...
"Lin Zifeng."
"Mmm, from now on, we’re going to be good buddies. I’ve got your back," said Shao Huo, reaching out for a handshake and with that nerdy, naive face showing an ’you-know-what-I-mean’ look, was just brimming with ’bromance’!
"Uh—okay!" Lin Zifeng felt as though his hand was lead-filled, unable to lift it promptly.
The other beasts around were also enthusiastically greeting Lin Zifeng, their futures as classmates inevitable, so there was no point in pretending to be cool.
Soon enough, Lin Zifeng became one of them—or rather, they became one of him.
For these young lads barely nineteen or twenty years old.
Every time Lin Zifeng chatted with them, he felt a bit off-track. He couldn’t tell if he was too trendy, or a tad out of touch.
The classroom was filled with guys, and nothing but guys.
Pity these creatures who had eagerly anticipated university to flirt with upperclasswomen, were now complaining, swearing they’d never let their relatives choose the Archaeology Department again.
This department was so unpopular in any prestigious institution, it shrunk to almost embarrassing levels.
In the entire Archaeology Department building, it was so desolate you’d even voluntarily look at the janitor’s face to see if you could spot a trace of a beauty in this extremely unpopular department.
Unfortunately, every time these beasts formed a team to hunt for beauties in the Archaeology Department, they went with enthusiasm but returned in agony...
What’s infuriating was that the Archaeology Department’s counselor was a damn nearly-sixty, half-crippled old man.
It was said that in the next few days, the school would welcome a new, attractive, returned-from-abroad female teacher to take over the Archaeology Department.
