Chapter 102: Chapter 92: Quick Transition

"Just one collaboration can make two half-brothers, with different fathers and mothers, become as close as true siblings."

These days, the wealthy aren’t necessarily the bosses, but whoever enables you to make money is definitely the boss. And if it’s a lot of money, then treating them like a dear grandpa is no issue at all.

Martin and Richard were only able to make small money before, but a chance opportunity suddenly led them to make a fortune, so Gao Yi’s standing in their eyes rose faster than a rocket.

And there’s no need to go into detail about Lin Xianghua, although he couldn’t exactly say he was in a desperate situation, admitting he was unemployed wasn’t wrong either, especially after being betrayed by his previous boss. And he still had an old score to settle. Now not only had Gao Yi offered him a high-paying job, but also a generous commission.

A generous commission was one thing, the most compelling was the justice of the confiscated goods that moved Lin Xianghua to tears; treating Gao Yi like a parent was no problem at all.

And Luca, needless to say, relied entirely on Gao Yi to achieve his life goals and fulfill his dreams.

The best part was that Gao Yi couldn’t succeed without these people. So he wasn’t just throwing money away carelessly; he was the catalyst, spurring the chemical reaction between the different elements.

A few men who weren’t exactly broke but were frustrated with life suddenly found a new lease on life with Gao Yi’s appearance. Although they were still doing the work they were good at, they were making money beyond their wildest dreams.

This brought about a strong cohesion, and naturally Gao Yi had to be the linchpin. Quite naturally, without even having to assert his authority, his status was solidified.

If Gao Yi said they’d change venues, then they’d change venues. Only this time, Richard suddenly put down the bag of money he was holding. He hurriedly opened the car door and took out a Bullet-Proof Vest from the back seat, then tenderly brought it over to Gao Yi.

"Put this on. This Bullet-Proof Vest isn’t too cumbersome, but it’s very effective against handgun bullets."

Gao Yi stared blankly at Richard, while Richard, with a solemn and passionate expression, said, "You must protect yourself well. This soft bulletproof jacket can be worn under your clothes, giving some protection. We usually wear them during missions. I’ve seen too many cases of lives being saved by bulletproof vests. Please, put it on."

"Okay..."

Gao Yi took the vest, then took off his jacket, and Richard quickly slipped the opened vest onto him, then considerately tightened the Magic Tape on the Bullet-Proof Vest.

Gao Yi was a bit uncomfortable and quickly said, "I’ll do it myself."

Watching Gao Yi put on the vest, Lin Xianghua stepped forward and took over the Glock 17 they’d use this time. He tried inserting the gun into the quick-draw holster; it wasn’t a perfect fit, but it would work.

The two cars set off again. They didn’t need to go far, as Trash Dog and Walter’s territories were not too far apart. It was precisely because of this complete competitive relationship that the current conflict had arisen.

Close territories, both drug dealers and rappers, Gao Yi couldn’t understand why West Coast produced so many of these kinds.

Since they shared similar identities, then naturally they would follow a similar pattern. Only this time Gao Yi would certainly not use a hammer, and also there would be somebody different from the police to meet them.

The mission from the Dark Web was already complete, so Luca no longer needed to record. He just had to wait at a distance to meet them.

Just as establishing a core only requires one collaboration, having done the same thing once makes the process familiar.

"This really doesn’t feel like an assassin’s job. Honestly, in all my years in the field, I’ve never heard of anything like this."

Luca was just expressing his bewilderment because the vehicle waiting to meet Gao Yi and the others turned out to be a police car.

Not even bothering to disguise, they just came directly in a police car to meet him. And the person who stepped out from the car was an old police officer in full gear.

"You’re finally here. That damn black guy is celebrating. He seems to have received the news that Trash Dog is dead. There are at least thirty people in his house right now, and more are pouring in. They’re having a celebration party."

Listening to the old officer’s briefing, Gao Yi and Luca looked at each other, and Martin frowned, saying, "A celebration overnight?"

"Yes!"

Martin looked at Gao Yi because there being more than thirty people in the house was very different from just a few.

Moreover, if among those celebrating there were people not from the drug trafficking gang, that could be even more troublesome since Walter was also a somewhat famous rapper.

To just barge in was absolutely not an option. What worried Gao Yi was, if Walter started blazoning tonight about how he killed Trash Dog, that would complicate things even more.

Martin felt that he and Richard needed to do something.

After an exchanging glance with Richard, Richard stepped forward and said in a low voice, "Is there a way to make people inside leave quickly?"

The officer spoke softly, "We can only start with a warning, arresting a few people to stop the party, and wait for the crowd to thin before you take action."

Martin didn’t say much. Richard whispered, "Then let’s start. Just make sure Walter stays in the house and try to reduce his people as much as you can."

The old officer nodded, then grabbed the walkie-talkie on his shoulder and whispered, "Guys, begin the operation, disperse the crowd first."

Well... that works!

Gao Yi returned to the car in silence, then immediately asked Luca, "Did the Dark Web pass the mission?"

"No, I haven’t even uploaded the evidence yet because once I do, the Dark Web will notify the employer that the mission is complete, and that would alert Walter."

Gao Yi sighed and said, "Then Walter didn’t get the news from the Dark Web. Plus, considering he was able to pinpoint Trash Dog’s whereabouts before, it means he has a mole in Trash Dog’s circle."

"That’s for certain. These guys betraying one another is nothing new."

So there was nothing more to say, they just had to wait and then terminate Walter.

This time Gao Yi had decided, he was going to use guns throughout, especially since Lin was fierce enough, and not many people would be left in Walter’s house.

Gao Yi felt he was being too relaxed, but the thought of eliminating a drug dealer with the direct involvement of the Los Angeles Police Station made him unable to muster any anxiety.

Soon, the sound of sirens began, and police cars with flashing lights started pulling up in front of Walter’s house, and from those cars descended a large number of police officers.

It was quite a large display, but it was too far away to appreciate how the police were operating. At that moment, Martin’s voice came through Gao Yi’s earpiece.

"The police are really pulling their weight this time. Should we have them send someone in later? We don’t know how much good stuff there is at Walter’s, but... it’s only right to give the police a share, don’t you think?"

Without a second thought, Gao Yi said, "Sure, no problem, let them have half."
