Chapter 143: Baby Daddy.

"Of course not. You meant everything to me, but as I said, I did wrong, and I can’t make it right just by breaking off with Bella. She depends on me. I did wrong with you, and I am sorry about it."

Lukas said he was not going to break up with a person who depends on him that much, she finds him a cornerstone in her life, so he had no choice but to discuss things with Annie now. He was feeling bad, but there was hardly anything he could do in this matter.

"Will sorry make good? Like, can a sorry fix a broken glass?"

Annie asked suddenly while wiping her eyes, although she was a confident woman. She also feels like Lukas was everything in her life, and she can’t leave without him, but can she live with a person who has cheated on her?

"Sigh! I know it can’t be fixed. I can give you money because I am a shallow person, and all I have is money, maybe. I guess I will go for now. Call me whenever you need something."

Lukas, saying this, stood up, as there was not much to say after everything had happened. Lukas, although he felt very guilty, knew there was hardly anything he could do about the situation.

Seeing Lukas standing up, Annie’s heart trembled, she was not sure what was blocking her throat, she couldn’t breathe at all. She grabbed Lukas’s hand in desperation, Lukas, seeing her blue face, was also concerned.

Lukas kneeled down to check on her, she was struggling to get air, and Lukas had no idea how to fix her up. She was having some sort of attack, and he tapped on her back and then did mouth-to-mouth.

After a while she took a huge and long breath, her blue face looked like it got a new life as she took big breaths.

"Let me take you to the doctor."

Lukas said they didn’t even wait for her to respond as she was still trying to breathe hard and was also clutching her chest. Lukas didn’t simply just take her downstairs while gently carrying her in his arms.

Jay and Roy, seeing Lukas returning with a beauty in his arms, were first elated, but then, seeing Lukas’s face, they started the car immediately.

Lukas took her to the nearby Princeton hospital and admitted her to the emergency ward. He was sweating not because of carrying her but because he was really tense about what happened to her.

He was not allowed to enter the ward, so he stayed outside, and there were people gathering to see him. He was not in the mood, so he just gestured to Jay and Roy to deal with it.

Jay and Roy, nodding their heads, went to handle the crowd. The doctor that entered the emergency ward was a female, and she took the case seriously as soon as she saw Lukas was the one who brought a patient.

After a while she came out, and she was looking at Lukas weirdly, then she came closer.

"Mr. Martin, I will ask you to call her relatives. We need to check her thoroughly, so we will take her to a different department, and she got a huge panic attack, not a heart attack like you were yelling, so calm down."

The doctor said she was there when Lukas entered the hospital yelling, Annie got a heart attack, and she also became too serious.

"But she was clutching her chest in pain."

Lukas said he clearly saw her holding her chest like she was in tremendous pain, and the whole way she didn’t even talk, or more like couldn’t talk at all.

"Yeah, that’s also a sign of panic. Don’t worry, she is healthy, but we are suspecting something, so we need her parents or guardian to be here."

The doctor said she wanted to talk with Annie’s parents. Lukas, hearing this, could not understand what was so important that the doctor needed her parents, he knew she didn’t have anyone like that too.

Guess I was neglecting her too. Sigh! I am such a bad human.

Lukas was realizing how Annie, although a confident person, was also like Bella, she didn’t have anyone alive to take care of her.

"Doctor, Kind of bad news there, she doesn’t have anyone. Can you tell me what this is about? I might help you out."

Lukas said he wanted to be there with Annie as much as possible now, he might get hate for it later, but he had to do it.

"We think she might be pregnant. Her whole body is healthy, we checked her heart, and it was fine. The panic attack might be related to her hormonal changes and sudden shock. She is an adult, so she can give her own permission. Just break the news to her. We don’t know how she will respond."

The doctor said she wanted to do a clear pregnancy test, but as it was not an emergency test, she couldn’t do it without permission from the patient.

Lukas hearing this was so shocked that he felt like someone pulled the rug out from under him, he was not sure what kind of response he should be giving, it was so overwhelming.

"I...I will, doctor."

Lukas said, barely mustering his voice, he was not sure what was happening, but he was sure that he couldn’t let Annie down now.

Doctor nodding her head left, Lukas sat down on the hospital bench, he was shocked beyond compare.

Even that system motherfucker didn’t give me this big of a shock.

Lukas was clutching his head and thinking, how would he break the news to Annie now? She was angry, and he was desperate now.

Lukas stood up after a while, he took a deep breath before entering the room Annie was in. She was lying in the bed, and seeing him, she smiled sweetly.

Lukas also smiled, he then sat in front of her. Her smile was making him less nervous, and he was getting slightly confident.

"The doctor said it was panic."

Lukas said he was smiling at her kindly and then slowly massaged her head, she closed her eyes to enjoy the massage.

"I know, hehe, they gave me a pill to control my emotions, they went out of control. I saw you the whole time, though, you were panicking more than me. Seeing you panic actually cured me a little."

Annie said she was in a good mood and was not crying and looked like she had decided on something.

"Yeah, I have never seen such a thing in my life, you almost scared the shit out of me."

Lukas said with a smile, then saw Annie opening her eyes, she looked determined.

"I will accept her, but no more women. You have to promise me."

Annie said she was talking about how she was ready to accept Bella but also wanted a promise that he would not think about another woman.

"You!! Okay, I promise"

Lukas said he smiled widely, as this was the best decision or outcome a man can achieve.

"You should tell her about me as well, she might just go away from you."

Annie said with a chuckle that she was just saying what was in her heart.

"About that, she knew about it, it’s just I was afraid to cheat on you. She knows because I really didn’t want to cheat, the circumstances were different back then."

Lukas said he was not overly explaining himself because he was guilty no matter what.

"I understand, any woman would want to get close to you. Guess we both have to make some rules for you."

Annie said she was accepting Bella, but anymore she can’t.

"Well, you both can decide whatever you guys see fit."

Lukas said with a smile, he was still caressing her hair, and she was smiling and nodding her head.

"There is other news. I don’t know if this will make you happy or sad, though."

Lukas said he wanted to let her know that she was maybe pregnant, and how would she react to this?

"Yeah? You have another woman?"

Annie asked, and she squinted her eyes.

"N...No, it’s...sigh! You are pregnant."

Lukas said, then looked at Annie with his eyes wide open to see her reaction.

Annie, hearing the news, was shocked. She looked at Lukas with a weird expression, then her eyes filled up with tears again.

Lukas hugged her gently, she grabbed him hard. She was hugging him as tightly as possible as if she wanted to absorb Lukas into her.

Lukas was not sure he could hug her that tightly now that she was pregnant.

"I... You don’t mind? I thought you didn’t like it, that’s why at that party I also behaved like that."

Annie asked, she thought Lukas would be angry, but seeing his happy face, she was confused.

"Eh! What gave you that idea?"

Lukas asked, He was not sure what kind of impression Annie had of him.

"At that time when I went to your hotel in Chicago, you almost shooed me away in front of people, so I thought like that."

Annie said they were caught in public once, and Lukas hid her and told her to go alone, so she thought Lukas didn’t like the idea of them being together.

"There is nothing like that, I was just saving you trouble because people will start harassing you as well, like me."

Lukas said he smiled broadly at her, her delusion was out of his imagination, he was not sure whether to praise or reprimand her.
