True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 421 - 388: Rescue One
Chapter 421: Chapter 388: Rescue One
United States
Washington, Arlington National Cemetery
The pale red sunset sprinkled across the gravestones, making the white tombstones and the black inscriptions exceptionally solemn and dignified under the sunlight.
Across a stretch of yellow-green grass, neatly lined white tombstones filled the view.
Lin You and his group walked along the iron railings that encircled the cemetery, constantly peering inside.
"Whoo..." At one of the grave markers, a blond woman lay sobbing. A white bouquet rested quietly in front of the tombstone, and the air was suffused with a faint, sorrowful atmosphere.
Lin You and his group passed this tombstone, seemingly infected by the woman’s cries, everyone feeling a bit heavier.
The golden-red sunlight draped over everyone, enhancing their solemnity even further.
Here was the National Cemetery, offering a weighty stillness unlike ordinary graveyards, heavy with an indescribable gravitas.
Merrill looked around the cemetery, sighing softly.
"Remember when a friend of mine died, and I came here for the funeral... Back then, I was just like her..."
"Enough of that. What’s the next step?" Cheng Guang interrupted, her eyes reddening a bit, probably recalling her recently deceased father. She quickly changed the subject.
"According to the intelligence we bought, it should be nearby..." Merrill snapped back to reality. "Everyone, let’s look around; take these." She waved her hand slightly, and a burst of fine green light flashed, attaching some to everyone.
"These lights will automatically illuminate when within a certain distance from the target base. Be alert."
"I’m heading this way."
Lin You and Feil walked toward a direction together.
The others split up and searched in different directions.
The entire Arlington National Cemetery was thoroughly bathed in the golden-red sunset. It seemed exceptionally quiet.
As time passed.
The mourners around gradually left, and one by one vehicles began to slowly drive away. The cemetery grew increasingly quiet.
Lin You and Feil walked quickly along the cemetery’s perimeter railing, a green bracelet made of intertwined light spots wrapped around Lin You’s wrist.
They had been walking for over twenty minutes.
"Why is there still no response?" Lin You muttered out of boredom.
"Be patient," Feil replied, scanning the surrounding area.
The two continued walking.
Suddenly, a faint green light emanated from Lin You’s wrist.
This indicated that they were directly above the target, as the bracelet would only light up in that condition.
"Found it!!" Lin You perked up, reaching for her phone to make a call, but her phone rang first.
She hurriedly pressed the answer button.
"Hello, I found it, everyone come here, I’m at the back of the cemetery." Chris’s cool voice came through.
The group regathered at the back of the cemetery.
On a green lawn, five people stood together.
"It’s right here..." Merrill faced a parking lot by the edge of the grass.
"The entrance is inside the parking lot," she added. "I just checked with Cheng Guang."
Everyone’s gaze shifted towards the underground parking lot in front of her.
"The security system is very comprehensive," Cheng Guang frowned slightly, "almost no blind spots. It seems we’ll have to use ’that’."
"Are you sure it’ll work?" Merrill asked.
"It shouldn’t be a problem, two hours of scrambling. Don’t forget, I’m not ordinary anymore," Cheng Guang said with a smile.
Lin You, Feil, and Chris could only stand aside, utterly clueless about how to proceed. All three were amateurs.
As they spoke.
A white sedan slowly emerged from the sloping exit of the parking lot. The car took a turn heading directly toward the group.
The speed of the white sedan gradually increased, and as it passed in front of them.
A man with short blond hair inside the car casually rolled down the window, glanced at the group indifferently, then nonchalantly lit a cigarette, taking a deep drag.
"That man must be a government official," Merrill said gravely, "and he gives off a military vibe. I can tell from his clothes and the things in his car."
A tiny green light flew out from the receding car back to them.
"That confirms it then, this is the place." Cheng Guang pulled out a small mirror, like a makeup compact, and casually opened it.
"Alright, let’s start. I’m ready to scramble," she declared.
The mirror’s surface suddenly dimmed, turning into a black display. A sequence of data flowed down like a waterfall appeared instantly.
Cheng Guang expertly pressed something on both sides of the mirror.
The data on the mirror sped up and cascaded down swiftly.

Gold No. 7 Base
Lin Fei sat quietly at his station.
"Regarding the Energy Scepter, I have something to say," he suddenly spoke.
With the members of the Dark Alliance departed, he needed to remind the others in advance about his determination regarding the Energy Scepter.
The other four people looked at him simultaneously.
Lin Fei glanced around at everyone.
"Everyone must know my intentions, right? For the collection of the Energy Scepter, I am determined to succeed. I hope everyone can take good care of this aspect."
"We don’t have a problem. Unfortunately, the Metal Scepter is in the hands of the Dark Alliance. You’ve also met Shaliye, one of the Dark Seven Monarchs. Maybe you could talk to him directly," Griffin shrugged.
Lin Fei slightly narrowed his eyes.
"I will naturally contact him proactively, but now, I want a clear response from everyone present."
"Oh?" The Night King smiled slightly but did not speak. He just looked at Lin Fei.
"I have no problem." Luo Ga seemed to have a good impression of Lin Fei and took the initiative to express his stance. He had also given a Holy Fan Stone earlier, which was a significant contribution, considered rare even among A-class strong individuals, despite having many alternatives.
"I follow Lord Griffin’s opinion," the Snake Woman looked at Griffin.
The gaze of Lin Fei fell on Griffin.
Griffin sat in his seat, only smiling.
"Lord Griffin, what do you think?" Lin Fei persisted.
"Me?" Griffin smiled, "It depends on how determined you are, Lord Yan Fei...." He looked at Lin Fei meaningfully.
"Determination?" Lin Fei lowered his eyelids. "The assembly of the Energy Scepter is my direction forward. Whoever..." he raised his head, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous luster, "stands in my way is my enemy..."
Crack!
The chair under Griffin cracked, opening a fissure.
His smile slowly faded. He stared at Lin Fei.
The two looked at each other.
"I hope everything goes as you wish...." Griffin’s figure slowly disappeared from the seat.
The conflict between the two had already shown signs of intensification over control. Lin Fei had learned through some channels that Griffin seemed to have some intentions...
The Night King sitting opposite smiled.
"By the way, Lord Yan Fei, there’s something I may need your help with. Shall we discuss it later?"
"Of course."
Lin Fei said softly.
Snake Woman and Luo Ga nodded slightly to the two and disappeared from their seats.
The Night King flicked his finger lightly, and a bright red flew toward Lin Fei, turning into a red card in front of him.
Now, only the two of them were left in the entire hall. He no longer held anything back.
"One of my traitors, the Scarlet Wing, is now fleeing to the east toward Hua Nation, your territory. I hope you can help capture her," he said.
"Just a traitor?" Lin Fei’s fingertips pressed on the red card on the table.
"She’s my daughter." The Night King’s eyes briefly showed a trace of softness.
"Daughter...?" Lin Fei’s face broke into a slight smile, "I will find time to personally check on this."
The Scarlet Wing, the legendary strongest C-class at the peak of C-class fighters; Lin Fei was also curious about what the Night King’s daughter would be like.
"If possible, please spare her life...." The Night King said somewhat wistfully. "With that, I bid you farewell."
As his voice fell, he slowly disappeared from the seat.
Inside the hall, only Lin Fei was left.
His fingers interlocked, resting on the table, his face bearing a thoughtful expression.

Arlington underground base
A black ventilation duct.
Lin You and his group were carefully crawling forward, their movements as light as possible, daring not to make any sound.
Lin You crawled while cautiously looking through the ventilation window below.
Through the slits of the Louvre, the brightly lit rooms below were clearly visible.
"What are you doing? Hurry up..." Feil urged from behind, who had once again transformed into a black cat.
"Right, almost there." Lin You, distracted, slowed down a bit. Hearing the urging, he hurriedly sped up.
In the black metal duct, only the passing Louvre windows allowed light to filter in; everywhere else was pitch-black. Fortunately, the green bracelet Merrill had given them was useful for lighting.
The soft green light illuminated the area a few meters in front of them in this environment without being too glaring.
The cold, hard surface of the duct transmitted sensations through Lin You’s palms and knees, making him vaguely feel it was getting colder.
A small earpiece was on his ear, provided by Cheng Guang—a short-range communicator connected to a microphone near the mouth that could act as a walkie-talkie.
"Attention, we’re nearing our destination. Everyone just needs to be a bit more careful; according to the intel, this is just an ordinary research base. There shouldn’t be any special personnel like Psychics," Merrill whispered. "I’ve turned on Ding Ning’s new type of shielding sphere. It perfectly covers all of us, shielding from cameras and some thermal weapons. We just need to avoid making loud noises."
"Right," Chris and Lin You responded simultaneously.
"If all goes well, we might be able to rescue the Metal Scepter Contractor, Kelan," Cheng Guang whispered as she crawled in front of Lin You. As the two weakest in the team, they were naturally the ones to protect.
"It’s a pity Antos just arrived in Hua Nation today; it would have been much easier with him." Merrill lamented.
"Then why not wait for him to come before acting?" Cheng Guang asked.
"He doesn’t trust our abilities, I’ve asked him. He didn’t want to act together with us," Merrill said with a bitter smile. (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets, monthly tickets. Your support is my biggest motivation.)
