Chapter 420 - 387 Alliance 2
Chapter 420: Chapter 387 Alliance 2
Lin Fei sat quietly in the dormitory.
A cup of steaming green tea rested on the desk beside him.
Behind him, Shi Ran was engrossed in his computer, having finally moved it home from the computer city. He hadn’t left his seat since he brought it back, tinkering with it all afternoon until now.
There was also Du Xiaosheng, who had reportedly found a girlfriend and was probably out and about doing who knows what.
It was just the two of them in the dormitory.
Lin Fei didn’t know when he had started to like green tea.
He enjoyed the faint emerald color of the tea, which seemed to possess an extraordinary sense of purity. Sipping lightly when it wasn’t too hot, the rich fragrance filled his nose and mouth, seemingly elevating his spirits.
Lin Fei lifted the teacup. The steam brushed against his face, carrying the assaulting fragrance of the tea. Suddenly, he felt an intense sense of reality.
"Drip..."
Suddenly, a short noise came from his hand.
Lin Fei frowned slightly, awakening from his reverie.
He checked his watch.
"At this time..." His eyebrows gradually relaxed. He narrowed his eyes slightly. His focus split in two instantly.
****************
United States, New York, Golden Number Seven Base
A massive object, like a giant ship, sat quietly in this underground space.
Numerous blueish lights illuminated the entire subterranean cavern brightly, as if it were daylight.
Small, ant-like figures in black scurried around the ship, busy at work. Occasionally, the bright light of welding lasers flashed from the vessel.
On either side of the ship were towering walls, topped with concrete platforms. Machinery and personnel constantly moved up and down the platforms built on the ship, busily crossing around it.
Griffin, in a black military uniform with a white American military cap, walked slowly along one of the platforms with a few others.
Lin Fei, Serpent lady, Roja, and the Night King were all there too—five people in total, surrounded by a dozen or so scattered elite guards.
"This is one of my secret shipyards. Once the ships here are completed, water can be let in to reach the channel, and then the ships can rise to the surface and go directly into the Pacific Ocean. Officially, it belongs to the United States government, but actually, I control it,"
"This time I am contributing it as one of the major underground bases for the gold faction so that we have our own technology sector for making ships," Griffin said.
"Indeed, not bad," the Night King nodded. "The technology in this dockyard is impressive; it even constructs these Siren-class warships, arguably at a world-advanced level," he remarked, eyeing the massive ship being built.
"But that’s not the main point. The reason I’ve called everyone here is to discuss a major issue that needs reviewing," Griffin said with a smile.
"Of course. That’s one of the reasons we’ve projected here," Roja said with a calm expression, eyes drooping. "Let’s get straight to the point."
"Regarding this matter, the First Councillor should be aware of their intentions and objectives," Griffin said, looking toward Lin Fei, who was turned sideways, watching the giant Siren ship.
"I’m aware? Are you talking about Shaliye?" Lin Fei frowned.
"Yes, we’ve been around so long, and we still don’t know the exact name of the First Councillor," Griffin said meaningfully.
Lin Fei maintained his composure. "You can call me Yan Fei," he used the pseudonym of the branch president of Shueisha, knowing that this name would eventually be exposed as his strength became prominent. Using this identity would also conveniently leverage the power of the gold organization.
"Yan Fei?" Griffin nodded.
The others took note of the name as well.
"Could it be the Flying Swallow Clan?" Serpent lady asked outright.
"The Flying Swallow Clan? What does that have to do with me? Are all those who use swords and bear the surname Yan from the Flying Swallow Clan?" Lin Fei said with a smile. In fact, the swordsmanship of Yan Shi had stopped being of much use to him, serving only as a foundation. He was now practicing the Star Shattering Sword Technique and forming his own Sword Intent, advancing towards the path of a grandmaster. He had diverged from any established paths, forming a style entirely his own.
So, his statement wasn’t without reason; indeed, he had little to do with Yan Shi anymore.
"Flying Swallow Yan Shi was once one of the A-level warriors I admired, though he fell midway... I still respect his personal character," the Night King said softly. "The ability to stand up for one’s beliefs, facing any resistance and power. Just this courage is admirable."
"Alright, we’re not here today to discuss the Flying Swallow," Griffin clapped his hands. "Next, let me introduce a powerful individual, from the South American Peru, Bolinrui Hanmu."
With his clap, immediately the surroundings blurred. The scene swiftly shifted from the shipyard to a golden hall.
In the center of the hall, there was a long metal conference table, facing an elaborate cluster of crystal chandeliers, and the walls were carved with excessively intricate patterns. The ceiling resembled a huge golden bloom, slowly unfolding.
The grandeur of the hall was extreme.
The five of them sat down on either side of the conference table.
A hologram slowly emerged in front of the long table.
"Welcome, Lord Bolinrui Hanmu from Peru," Griffin clapped gently.
Unfortunately, only he clapped, the rest remained utterly still.
The image slowly became clear.
A man with curly brown hair, dressed in a black suit, appeared before the five people.
"Good evening, councillors. It’s been many years since I have seen so many top-level fighters gathered together," he said with a gentle smile. His accent was impeccably American.
"However, before that..."
Sigh...
His aura surged massively, pressing down on everyone present like a vast lake.
"Hmph!"
The Serpent Lady coldly snorted, her invisible force field instantly dispersing the oppressive aura.
"It seems you are quite confident..."
A trace of respect flickered across Bolinrui’s face.
"I apologize for the offense, but as a representative, I must have a genuine understanding of the organization that our Dark Alliance is about to partner with, although the offense was indeed my mistake. As compensation, we have a rocket launch base in Mississippi, which we could offer as a gift as part of our apology?"
"A rocket launch base?" Lin Fei was slightly startled.
"This base has a record of two successful military satellite launches. I suppose that could be useful to you all?" Bolinrui said with a smile. "This is also our alliance’s gift for joining your organization."
The councillors exchanged glances. Indeed, there were no objections. Now was the time for the Gold Council to expand its influence, and forming an alliance with the Dark Alliance would be highly beneficial for accelerating their expansion. After all, the Dark Alliance’s power in the visible world was deeply entrenched and formidable, comparable perhaps to the Eastern Orthodox Cult, representing one of the major forces.
"To form an alliance, then we must clearly define the corresponding duties and rights," Griffon said, his tone neutral.
"We have drafted an agreement. Please take a careful look."
Bolinrui waved his hand.
Five black sheets of paper suddenly appeared in front of the five councillors.
Lin Fei picked up the one in front of him and looked it over.
The black sheets with white text specified some minor clauses very clearly.
It mainly formalized a mutual aid relationship between the Dark Alliance and the Golden Council, encompassing military, economic, and technological assistance, among other aspects.
The document briefly introduced the organizational structure of the Dark Alliance.
The entire Dark Alliance was like a giant tree, with seven monarchs at the very top. Each monarch had their respective organizations, forming a powerful network within a massive structure.
Similar to the parliamentary system of the Golden Council, the Dark Alliance also operated like a parliament, merely without the title of councillor. However, they too would convene for discussions to resolve matters.
In the last Elisa Conflict, the Dark Alliance failed to obtain the mark and thus lacked the qualification to enter, forcing them to give up. But the Golden Council obtained the mark and successfully gained control over Elisa’s Gate. This was also their reason for approaching and forming an alliance with the Golden Council to secure the right to use Elisa’s Gate.
The control over Elisa’s Gate was, in fact, in Lin Fei’s hands.
Suddenly, all eyes fell on Lin Fei.
"What do you think about this agreement, Lord Yan Fei?" Griffon asked with a smile.
"I think it’s fine," Lin Fei set down the document and said calmly. "This is fundamentally a mutually beneficial agreement. Each clause is quite fair." Or rather, the document mostly outlined the Dark Alliance’s support in various forms in exchange for the right to use Elisa’s Gate. This was actually why the Golden Council had mobilized so forcefully to vie for control over Elisa’s Gate.
Having such a fixed teleportation portal was akin to possessing a means to attract numerous strong fighters. As long as the Golden Council held control, the Dark Alliance would have to take a subordinate position beneath them, existing as an affiliated organization. Their sending of Bolinrui to join the Golden Council was a clear indication of the attitude of the Dark Alliance’s seven monarchs.
"So, none of you have any objections?" Griffon inquired.
The other individuals nodded, indicating their agreement.
Lin Fei’s gaze settled on Bolinrui. "Please inform the seven monarchs that we will arrange the official alliance plan between the two organizations soon."
Bolinrui bowed slightly.
"I look forward to your message..."
His entire person instantly transformed into countless silver grains of sand, scattering on the ground. The sand quickly merged completely with the ground, disappearing altogether.
The seven monarchs of the Dark Alliance were all top-level A-ranked fighters like Griffon. Such fighters naturally weren’t limited to just seven A-ranks, Bolinrui Su Ri An was also an A-ranked fighter, though he was just at the entry level of the A-rank.
By comparison, the Golden Council, in terms of rank, was far behind the Dark Alliance.
However, a key point was that the Golden Council was a pure Dream Eater organization. They were naturally much stronger than ordinary psychics. Except for some very special psychics, they generally could defeat any psychic of the same level. Therefore, the overall power of the Golden Council needed to be evaluated one level higher in comparison to the rest of the Supernatural World, making it roughly equal to the Dark Alliance, at least in terms of top-level combat power.
