True Solution of the Sword Dao
Chapter 390 - 363: Beginning 2

Chapter 390: Chapter 363: Beginning 2

He had just stepped out of the passage.

Crack!

Lin Fei’s figure blurred slightly.

A mass of black mucus passed through his body, sticking directly to the cave wall behind him.

Instantly, amidst a hissing sound, blue smoke began to rise from the wall. The originally smooth wall quickly corroded into a large hole.

It was then that Lin Fei saw what had ambushed him.

A dark red python, at least seven or eight meters long, was coiled around the entrance of the passage, with its head raised about as high as a person. Its body was as thick as an adult’s thigh.

Before Lin Fei could speak, Ye Yuhua directly struck with her sword.

Bang!

The fire snake was flung away by her strike, its body slammed hard against the cave wall on one side, rolling down motionless, dead upon impact.

However, this action also startled numerous other fire snakes.

Lin Fei looked around and saw countless red fire snakes of various thicknesses drilling out from numerous caves, a chilling coldness spreading through the air. These fire snakes emitted waves of heat, but their blood-red eyes carried a bone-chilling coldness.

"I’ll leave it to you," Lin Fei said, stepping back slowly.

Ye Yuhua stepped forward, her longsword lightly vibrating.

"Star Burst."

A ball of blue-white starlight rose in front of her, then suddenly exploded with a sizzle.

Countless formless Sword Qi burst forth instantly, filling the entire cave.

The numerous fire snakes hardly had time to react before they were pierced through the head. Yet more fire snakes continued to emerge from the caves, spitting globs of corrosive mucus towards them, but in the burst of Star Burst, the mucus was dispersed in mid-air, none coming close to Lin Fei or Ye Yuhua.

"The strength of the Star Shattering Sword Technique lies here; point to point, point to area, highly concentrated without wasting a bit of energy," Lin Fei remarked.

Ye Yuhua’s Star Burst wasted not a whit of energy; after all the Sword Qi pierced through the snake heads, it continued to flow through the air, smashing the mucus until completely exhausted.

"Let’s go," Lin Fei said, walking briskly forward.

Ye Yuhua smiled faintly, following closely.

The two walked calmly through the battlefield of Sword Qi and fire snakes, with countless pieces of flesh and mucus flying around, yet none could touch them.

As they passed through the fire snake den, the Sword Qi behind them finally dissipated, and vast numbers of fire snakes surged out of their nests again.

Lin Fei had intended to collect some samples for projection use, but unfortunately, these fire snakes did not catch his eye.

Another similar passage wound its way down.

After progressing for about ten minutes, they finally reached the next exit.

Lin Fei heightened his vigilance. He remembered that Monica, a level B strongman, had disappeared on this layer. Anything capable of threatening such a strongman would naturally be no ordinary danger.

It was still a fiery red cavern, but this time the cavern was far larger than the previous ones.

The exit seemed to be at some elevated point, giving Lin Fei and Ye Yuhua a good overview of the entire cavern from their vantage.

Numerous pillars connecting to the cavern ceiling were densely packed, too many to count. It was like an ocean of pillars. Looking from the exit towards one end of the cavern, it was impossible to see the end, only the walls at the curves.

And the exit they were at was just one among countless others around them.

Lin Fei glanced left and right, noting that the surroundings were filled with dozens of similar caves densely packed on the same cave wall.

What felt eerie to him was the complete absence of any signs of life. No sounds, no movements, and even the two groups that had come in earlier had vanished, as if no one had ever entered.

"Something’s not right here..." Ye Yuhua said softly.

Lin Fei didn’t respond but crouched down, running his hand across the ground. Instantly, his hand was coated with red dust. He turned back and saw that his and Ye Yuhua’s footprints were clearly visible on the ground.

Brushing off the dust from his hand, Lin Fei stood up.

"There’s something odd here. The people who came in earlier left no footprints at all. Judging from the dust on the ground, it also seems to have accumulated over a long time."

The entire cavern was quiet, with only their speaking creating echoes that reverberated through the cave, giving a chilling sensation.

"That old man said he was going to the Fourth Layer, probably with no good intentions. He must be confident that by sending us to the Fourth Layer, things will go as he wishes. So, the Third and Fourth Layers might be hiding some secrets that could threaten us," Ye Yuhua analyzed.

"Indeed," responded Lin Fei. Despite knowing the dangers, he had to proceed. The Divine Artifact Crystal was too important to lose. If he failed, his status in the gold realm could be threatened. Moreover, the accumulation of True Force in the seed was crucial to his Cultivation Level progression.

He led the way, with Ye Yuhua following closely behind.

They walked one after another down the spiral path along the edge, directly to the cave floor at the bottom.

The cave floor was filled with tall, thick red pillars, forming a stone forest that blocked any view beyond ten meters.

Lin Fei and Ye Yuhua continued forward, winding their way through, but it felt as though they hadn’t progressed much distance.

Lin Fei frowned, slowly drawing the Black Demon Sword.

Clang!

He harshly chopped the Black Demon Sword against the surface of a nearby pillar, producing a sound like metal striking metal. The noise triggered countless echoes that spread far across the cave.

Ye Yuhua looked at the spot where the Black Demon Sword had struck the pillar, noting only a small white mark.

"It’s very hard! Probably only with great effort could we manage to cut through," she said.

Lin Fei was not surprised. A place that had claimed the life of a B-level strongman would definitely not be simple.

He was about to speak when suddenly a buzzing sound came from above.

A hair-raising vibration rapidly approached. Powerful auras surged through the stone forest in the cave.

Lin Fei’s expression changed slightly. In his True Force Sensing, a dense group of C-level auras was rapidly approaching at a speed of tens of meters per second.

He looked up at the cave ceiling.

The buzzing noise grew nearer and louder.

Suddenly, a black flying insect the size of a soybean appeared above their heads.

This insect seemed to be a flying ant with transparent wings, very small in size but with two standard red antennae on its head. The dual wings on its back were vibrating. Or one might simply call it a flying ant.

What changed Lin Fei’s expression was the fact that despite their small size, these ants exuded a C-grade aura.

In his sensing, this C-grade aura flooded towards them like a tidal wave from the ocean.

A rough estimate suggested there were at least tens of thousands of them.

Ye Yuhua’s complexion also changed.

Tens of thousands of C-grade ants charging would be an attack of such density that although it was unclear whether an A-grade powerhouse could escape, the two of them certainly couldn’t completely withstand and annihilate it.

Buzzing!!!

Immediately following, another dense burst of noise came. Lin Fei sensed an even greater aura rapidly approaching, this time numbering in the hundreds of thousands. The entire air in the cave was almost completely filled with these black flying ants, the ants spreading through the air like a black fog.

"Let’s leave," Lin Fei whispered. He realized the flying ants had not yet detected them. His mind slightly steadied, he gently pulled Ye Yuhua back.

Suddenly, a series of talking voices gradually came from behind.

"We’re about to reach the Third Layer, stay alert!" It was Ban’s voice. It seems the people behind them had caught up.

The buzzing sound suddenly intensified, a multitude of black clouds swiftly drifted towards Lin Fei and Ye Yuhua’s location from behind.

Lin Fei was startled and quickly enveloped both himself and Ye Yuhua completely with True Force.

A few flying ants circled above their heads a few times, finding nothing, quickly left.

Clearly, Lin Fei’s True Force disguise had worked.

"Run!!"

"Damn!!"

Annie and Rabbi’s voices mixed with shock and anger came from the passageway above.

Following was a scream.

"Fire Snake!! The Fire Snake is back!! My God!"

A series of explosive and shaking noises vigorously came through.

"Ban! Hold the cave entrance!! Don’t let them in!!" Annie shouted loudly.

Lin Fei crouched beside a stone pillar, not planning to rescue these people. The previous scene had already revealed their attitude. If he were to fall into a crisis, these people might not necessarily come to his aid. At most, they would merely make a show of it like before.

"Whether they can survive or not depends on them," Lin Fei whispered, "Let’s go. While these flying ants have not returned."

Ye Yuhua nodded and dared not make a sound.

Hundreds of thousands of C-grade gathered together, even concentrating their power to target a few individuals, especially in this confined environment. No wonder even B-grade powerhouses could die here. This was clearly death by attrition. Humans running among the stone pillars can never outrun flying ants in the sky.

The two of them moved extremely fast towards the deeper parts of the cave. The surrounding stone pillars swiftly receded.

Countless pseudo True Forces enveloped them in a vortex-like form. These pseudo True Forces, initially merged between new True Forces around them, suddenly separated on their own.

Crack!

Lin Fei suddenly stopped. Around him, numerous small pseudo True Forces were autonomously rotating. He suddenly turned and looked towards a nearby stone pillar.

"What’s wrong?" Ye Yuhua stopped beside him.

"Here..." Lin Fei said gravely, his eyes showing a strange tint as he stared intensely at the stone pillar.

Countless pseudo True Forces slowly circulated and suddenly attached themselves to the stone pillar beside him.

Crack!!

With a sharp noise, a piece of stone suddenly fell from the surface of the stone pillar.

Its interior revealed a material as transparent as crystal.

"What is this!!??" Ye Yuhua’s pupils shrank as he instinctively took two steps back.

Lin Fei silently watched the stone pillar. Something seemed to transmit into his mind. After a long while, he finally spoke slowly.

"This place, might be a graveyard!"

Within the stone pillar, a head with eyes tightly closed was staring at them. His eyes were blood-red like blood itself, with a mysterious pattern in the center resembling a golden flower blossoming within the eye.

Lin Fei’s eyes stared blankly at its eyes.

Suddenly, a flicker of silver light flashed.

"Ah!!!"

Lin Fei suddenly clutched his eyes and screamed in agony.

Blood quickly ran down his hands.

"Finally... it’s here..." The head within the stone pillar suddenly shattered and dispersed into nothingness.

Lin Fei clutched his eyes, kneeling on the ground as blood dripped drop by drop.

"My lord..." Ye Yuhua’s face turned pale, attempting to help him up but was slowly pushed away.

"I’m not... so what!!" Lin Fei said darkly as he stood up. Filaments of enormous aura slowly began to swirl around him.

"Get out!! Get out!! Go! Go! Go!!" A void voice roared in his ears.

"Hmph!!" Lin Fei let go of his hands, his eyeballs having completely disappeared, leaving only two bloody sockets. Blood slowly slid down his cheeks. (To be continued.
