Chapter 385: Chapter 360 Earth Dragon Den Part 1_2

A group of people split into two sections. One part continued to swim forward, while the other returned to the original spot.

The passageway soon regained its calm.

Only a dozen seconds later.

A ring of blue electric light instantly spread out at the entrance of the passageway.

When the electric light dissipated, a small squad with only oxygen bottles appeared.

At the front was a bald black man whose strong build made the woman beside him seem even more petite and delicate.

These people did not speak. The black man gestured with his hand to move forward, and the group, well-trained, jumped neatly into the passageway and quickly disappeared around the corner.

***************

Lin Fei stood at the position where the well-like passageway had originally appeared, carefully observing the ground.

The dark red soil was full of fine cracks, and, astonishingly, one could occasionally see tiny black bugs burrowing in and out. These bugs, resembling centipedes, had black and red metal-like shells that made them look shiny and imposing.

He lightly extended his hand and touched it; the ground was somewhat hot to the touch but the soil surprisingly felt damp.

"This is the place!"

The faces of the people surrounding him immediately showed expressions of joy.

"Are you certain, Councilor...?" At this point, with everyone’s fate and fortunes at stake, Annie couldn’t help but worry.

Lin Fei nodded, "This is the place. Although the surface of the soil is dry, the inside is still moist."

They had already been staying here for an entire day. Thankfully, the day and night cycle here was about the same as on Earth, around twenty hours. Otherwise, if they ended up in a place with an overly long day or night, like sixty or seventy hours of daylight, their situation would be extremely perilous with so much time delayed, added to the fact that the volcano might erupt at any moment. Lin Fei and the others were essentially suffering on a knife’s edge.

Even if Lin Fei could use spatial teleportation to leave at any moment, and this place was just an arrival projection, those around him were elites of the Metal organization, and it would be a pity to give up so easily.

"It’s coming!" Lin Fei said softly.

Everyone’s attention was focused on the spot on the ground that Lin Fei was watching.

There, a small black hole slowly appeared.

And then the hole gradually enlarged.

Boom!!

Suddenly, the earth shook violently.

The intense tremors nearly caused several people in Lin Fei’s group to fall.

The hot sulfur aroma in the air grew stronger. The bubbles from the nearby golden red lava river also instantly increased. On the surface of the lava river, less than a few meters wide, was a dense mass of golden bubbles constantly rising and bursting. The dark red smoke in the air was also becoming thicker.

Annie’s face changed, and she quickly took a handheld computer device from a subordinate. The data on it were rapidly climbing. The numbers soared from a few dozen to several hundreds and then thousands in an instant.

Click!

After a light sound, the device emitted blue smoke, and the screen went blank, clearly broken.

"The volcano is about to erupt!!" Annie exclaimed in an almost squeezed-out voice. But no one heard her, as everyone’s face was filled with panic. Even the usually calm and steady Bat Brigade was losing their footing. At this moment, even without instruments, everyone knew that the volcano was on the brink of erupting.

Ban’s eyes were fixed on the hole in the ground.

The black hole’s mouth grew larger, revealing the murky water flow within.

"Quick! Get in! Follow the order of importance!" Lin Fei bellowed. At this time, his voice was not loud as no one could hear it.

"Me! I’ll go first!" A beautiful woman next to Vinnie, her face full of terror, rushed in first.

A fierce glint flashed in Lin Fei’s eyes. The Black Demon Sword instantaneously unsheathed.

Shick!

The woman was cleaved in two by a single stroke, her upper body rolling far away, the lower half failing to jump into the channel of the hole, tumbling onto the ground at the side. She wasn’t completely dead, her beautiful eyes staring fixedly at Lin Fei, filled with resentment and hatred. Blood and entrails were scattered all around.

This action directly deterred some others who were eager to jump in and flee for their lives. Everyone froze, not daring to move, fearing they would be next.

"Those with important equipment go first!" Lin Fei, without even glancing at her, bellowed his command.

Within the group, some carrying anti-interference devices and other special equipment went in first with oxygen tanks.

Following them were Annie and Ban, then some of the weaker External Affairs Army and Bat Brigade members.

Boom!

At one end of the lava river, a spurt of fiery red magma erupted from a volcano’s vent, dispersing in mid-air like droplets raining down on this area. Although only a small part of it, even slightly weaker Fire System Psychics didn’t dare to face such thousand-degree high temperatures head-on.

Just then, the last person jumped through the channel.

Lin Fei turned around, glanced at the sky at the falling magma rain, and with a gentle leap backward, plunged right into the well passage.

The line of people swiftly swam forward through the passage.

The same as the lakebed passage they crossed before, the surroundings were still filled with fluorescent water plants. However, it seemed part of the tunnel wall had been damaged by something, leaving a dense cluster of charred marks on the walls.

"They triggered our traps," Ban whispered next to Lin Fei.

Lin Fei nodded. He too had noticed the lingering electrical energy aura and an odd unknown energy aura around them.

The group swam forward in silence.

A strange feeling suddenly rose in Lin Fei’s heart, reminiscent of the first time he entered the Sword Canon Space. The sensation was fleeting, yet he knew, the teleportation had ended.

"Everyone, swim back!" He ordered through telepathy, turning back first.

Annie and Ban both halted, hesitated momentarily, but quickly followed suit.

The Golden Bat Rabbi and the Silver Bats, special forces of the Dark Night Castle, followed every one of Lin Fei’s commands without hesitation, promptly turning back.

However, the rest of the External Affairs Army hesitated on the spot. Even though Annie and Ban had swum back, they were just from the External Affairs Army and, apart from operating special devices, their combat prowess was negligible.

Two members of the External Affairs Army, a man, and a woman, exchanged a covert glance, quietly concealed their bodies among the broken water plants, and then continued forward.

Clearly, they intended to slip away quietly while the others were distracted.

Suddenly.

Sshh! Sshh!

The two soft sounds followed. Dark red wounds appeared on the throats of the duo. Blood gushed from the arteries, instantly forming a cloud of blood mist in the water. Water mixed with blood filled their windpipes. They struggled violently in the water for a moment before they became motionless.(To be continued.
