Chapter 370: Chapter 347 Birthday 2

Lin You stood at the entrance, and just from observing the guests’ attire, she could tell this place was not ordinary in terms of lavishness. She hadn’t noticed anyone who had walked over; everyone had arrived in their own cars, except for her.

And the cars these people showed up in were no cheap models. Even though Lin You didn’t recognize the brands, she could roughly discern the difference between coarse and refined just by looking at the quality and design of the exterior.

She took out her phone and dialed her friend’s number.

"Hurry up, I’m on the first floor," Kong Qiyu urged over the phone.

"Oh, I’m already at the entrance," Lin You whispered. The people coming in and out periodically glanced at her, many admiring, but more were curious and scrutinizing. Standing at the grand entrance, she felt a slight embarrassment and discomfort.

"I’ll come out to get you," Kong Qiyu said gallantly.

Lin You waited a bit, and soon a pretty girl with shoulder-length hair hurried out. She was dressed in a black silk one-piece dress, exuding a mix of mystery and cuteness.

"Qiyu!" Lin You had just greeted when Kong Qiyu grabbed her.

"Let’s talk inside.

The two quickly walked inside the grand entrance. On both sides inside, two young women bowed gently. They didn’t say the usual welcoming phrases, but the greeters’ neat black suit jackets and white shirts gave an impression of formality and elegance.

Kong Qiyu pulled Lin You along inside. They entered the lobby on the right side of the entrance, which by then was already crowded.

The two ran directly to a group of sofas on the side of the lobby, where Lin You was pushed down onto a seat by Kong Qiyu.

"Sit here for a bit, I still need to greet some other friends. Sorry about that," Kong Qiyu said, sticking out her tongue apologetically.

"No worries, go ahead."

Lin You hugged Feil and smiled. Honestly, she felt quite uncomfortable in this setting.

Kong Qiyu whispered a few words into another woman’s ear nearby.

The woman nodded.

"It’s okay, you go ahead, I’ll take care of your friends. Quick, don’t let them wait too long."

Kong Qiyu scampered off.

The woman smiled broadly and said, "Qiyu is always so busy on her birthday, and only she has the most friends. You must be Lin Xiao You, I’ve heard about you from Qiyu, nice to meet you, I am Qiyu’s sister, Kong Qiyi."

Lin You gently reached out her hand and shook hers, noticing her striking resemblance to Kong Qiyu.

"Not everyone has arrived yet, they’re all friends we know well. Don’t be nervous, we’re just here to have a meal together," Kong Qiyi said with a soothing tone and a smile.

This greatly eased Lin You’s nerves.

"You can watch some TV or go grab a drink from that table over there, hang on for a bit," Kong Qiyi casually said, "My dad is quite close with the general manager here, so we’ve booked the entire right side of The First Layer, so you can move around freely in this hall."

Lin You nodded, taking in the hall with her eyes.

Under the soft pale yellow lights.

Several round tables were covered with pristine white tablecloths, each centered with a tiny vase featuring a single red flower. The flooring was redwood, and aside from herself and Kong Qiyu, there were four or five people, all fairly young men and women.

Two girls were chatting softly together, while three guys sat at a table, occasionally bursting into laughter over their conversation.

Lin You looked at the two chatting women; their attire had tasteful embellishments, mostly jewelry, stylish yet appropriately elegant.

Even Kong Qiyi sitting next to her watching TV wore sparkling gem earrings, clearly expensive.

Lin You felt grateful as she glanced at the blue gem ring on her pinky, the only piece of jewelry she had worth showing off. Otherwise, she would have seemed rather shabby.

Her dress, while worth several hundred, seemed inconspicuous compared to those worn by the women around her in terms of material and brand.

Kong Qiyu hadn’t returned, and Lin You started to feel restless, standing up to walk around.

The interior of Minchen Hotel was certainly impressive, spacious and warm, a blend of Western dine-in luxury and the homeliness of an Eastern hotel.

Lin You wandered a bit, eventually picking up a glass of milk from a table to sip slowly.

A talking girl seemed to notice her and slowly walked over.

"You must be Lin Xiao You, I’ve heard about you from Qiyu. You’re indeed very beautiful," the girl said with a smile, "My name is Yang Kexin, also a good friend of Qiyu."

"Hello," Lin You squeezed out a slightly awkward smile, "I’m Lin You, a classmate of Qiyu."

"By the way, where did you buy that ring on your hand? It’s beautiful," Yang Kexin pointed at Lin You’s sapphire ring, "Aren’t you worried about wearing a ring made purely of Crystal; it could get damaged?"

"It should be okay?" Lin You suddenly became somewhat concerned.

"And your dress, it’s really pretty too, where did you buy it? I’ll buy one too," Yang Kexin wondered, "How much did you pay for it? I bought several from Donna and none of them look as nice as yours."

Lin You became increasingly embarrassed. Her dress had only cost her a little over three hundred, while Donna’s clothes, which she had looked at before, usually started around four or five thousand, or even more.

"You must have seen it before, that’s a style Donna launched last year. Didn’t you see it last time?" Kong Qiyi came over to smooth things over, smiling warmly at Lin You. "Right, Xiao You?"
