Chapter 283: Chapter 270 Interception 2

Capital City, Airport Hotel Entrance

Lin You gently stretched her body.

"Finally switched back. It’s more comfortable using my own."

Feil crouched at her feet, nodding in agreement.

"I feel the same way."

"Shouldn’t you call your brother to thank him properly?"

Lin You opened her mouth but said nothing for a long while.

"Hey! Lin You?" Feil looked up, puzzled.

"You’re not planning on eating and running without acknowledging the debt, are you?"

"Of... of course not!" Lin You’s face quickly turned red. "I’m just thinking about how to say it later!"

"Really?" Feil looked doubtful.

"What’s with that expression!?" Lin You snapped. "Do I look like someone who would forget favors and betray friends?"

Feil looked at her with pity.

"Lin You, you’re being tsundere."

"Forget it! I can’t be bothered to explain to you!" Lin You turned away huffily. "After all, he’s just a regular person, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future, and I will repay this favor!"

"Lin You, I think you’re saying something but mean another," Feil said with a mischievous smile. "It’s a good thing I kept that Divine Artifact. Maybe in the future... hehehehe..."

"Hehe your sister!" Lin You slapped Feil on the head.

"Let’s go!" She walked out first.

Near Kyoto City District

Within a high-end residential area

A green and a blue semi-transparent film overlapped, and within the layering films, two silhouettes, one green and one blue, constantly collided, emitting sounds of metal clashing.

In an instant, the two shadows parted and each landed on one side, revealing their forms.

The green figure was a beautiful woman wearing a teal dress, holding a Short Dagger, her expression steely.

"Hand over the gold thread, and I’ll let you leave."

The figure in blue, also a pretty girl in blue, sneered at this.

"Do you think I’d believe you? Anyway, whether I hand over the gold thread or not, I’m dead! What do you think I would choose? If it weren’t for betrayal, do you think you could have found my true location?"

"The victors rule, the losers serve; that is the natural law," the woman in blue said indifferently.

Pedestrians and vehicles from the neighborhood passed by the two figures but seemed to be in a completely different world. For both women, these passers-by were as intangible as ghosts. The residents of the area were completely unaware that a battle, which could endanger their lives at any moment, was raging beside them.

"Jinneng Temple and the Forest of the Sky have both withdrawn from Capital City. All regulations will return to their original state. It was your own carelessness, who are you to blame?" The woman in blue lightly tossed her hand, and the dagger instantly dissipated into numerous points of light, scattering in the air and transforming into countless daggers. The reflected Brilliant Light formed a dazzling pattern.

The woman in blue let out a bitter laugh. She waved her hands, drawing countless blue lines that transformed into tiny bee-like insects, confronting the daggers flying through the air.

The entire space was filled with a buzzing sound.

"Go!" The woman in blue pointed, and countless daggers, like thrown knives, tore through the air with a hissing sound, ruthlessly aiming for the opposite side.

Similarly, the countless bee-like insects bravely charged forward. They dropped like rain.

At the same time, a golden thread suddenly shot out from the woman in blue, piercing through the two layers of overlapping films and heading straight for the ground nearby. Clearly, she was attempting to bury the golden thread in the ground.

"You’ll never get it!" The woman in blue laughed aloud. "Even if I die!"

Snap!

A tall figure grabbed the golden thread mid-flight. A gentle squeeze, and the thread instantly turned into countless points of light.

As this happened, the woman in blue bled from all seven orifices, her blue aura dissipated, and she collapsed to the ground without a sound.

"Ahead should be the major concentration area of the gold threads, right?" the fairy asked, fluttering about.

The Knight nodded, casting an indifferent glance at the woman in blue in midair.

She tensed up, feeling an overwhelming sense of powerlessness engulfing her. She dared not speak, as if opening her mouth would invite imminent disastrous extinction—a feeling without cause, yet strikingly real.

"How is this possible!! What I have here is only an avatar! Even if it’s destroyed, it’s just a bit of expended Energy. This person...!!"

The woman stared hard at the abrupt appearance of the tall Knight and the fairy on his shoulder. Everything seemed extraordinarily bizarre.

With a slight blink, the figure of the Knight in front of her seemed like a mere illusion, slowly dissolving away as if he had never appeared.

Suburbs of Capital City, Yanqing Mountain Area

The mountains were covered in red leaves, viewed from afar as a sea of crimson. A winding mountain road meandered through the ocean of red.

A silver Volkswagen sedan drove slowly along the road.

Inside the car, Lin Fei sat quietly in the back seat, resting with her eyes closed.

Yuan Yicheng was driving, while Ban examined curiously how to operate the vehicle.

"We should be almost there, right?" Lin Fei wondered. "Just now, suddenly, the other party seems to have stopped clearing the seeds along the road. I don’t know if they have given up or if they have some other plan."

"It seems the other party has some means to sense the True Force seed or the power of the Divine Artifact," Yuan Yicheng said gravely. "We know nothing about who they really are—could it be possible that they’re luring us out for an attack?"

Suddenly.

A shadow fell across Lin Fei’s eyes.

"Damn it! Get back! A seed has been severed in the direction of the Capital City! Their target is the largest gathering place of the True Force seeds!" His face turned ugly. "How is this possible! Such speed! Just a moment ago they were in the west, and now they’re right behind us!"

"If they publicize the effect of the True Force seeds, then this group of merged seed bearers might be the only ones we have left! We must intercept them at all costs!"

"Could it be an ability similar to immediate descent?" a figure in golden armor speculated.

Yuan Yicheng quickly turned the car around. "Exact location?"

"Just up ahead. Get out of the car in five minutes!"

Lin Fei’s expression was extremely somber.

"Whoever you are!"

In a forest near Kyoto, inside a white villa built among the trees,

an old man wearing glasses was carefully walking out of an inner room, holding a delicate black box along with several other bizarre items.

"I apologize for making you wait," he said amiably to his guest in the living room.

"No problem, the legendary metal, if truly as miraculous as they say, is worth the wait," replied a young Caucasian man with blond hair and blue eyes. His deep-set eyes and lusterless skin betrayed an extremely weak life force, indicative of either a grave injury or impending mortality.

"You will recover. The metal has already restored hope to many who were in despair," the old man replied with a mysterious smile. "Including myself."

"Is that so? God bless what you say is true." The foreigner shook his head, having tried various methods already. Hope after hope had turned to disappointment until now, when he was nearly desperate.

He took the box and gently opened it—a golden thread lay peacefully inside. The black silk of the box illuminated by a faint golden halo. He extended his index finger and touched the thread directly.

Hiss!

Suddenly, a flash of gold zipped into the man’s forehead. A fancy golden pattern briefly appeared on his brow before fading away.

"This life force!!!" The man looked at the box in surprise, hope for life sparkling in his eyes.

All of a sudden, a loud boom echoed from outside the villa. The ground shook slightly, the chandelier on the ceiling swayed, and the ornaments on the table were shaken to the floor. A massive aura suddenly enveloped the entire villa.

Both individuals’ complexions changed dramatically.

"This aura!! Could it be??" Before he could think further, the old man acted swiftly, decisively gathering his items and turning into countless wisps of white mist.

But almost immediately, an invisible force field recondensed all the mist back into the old man’s original form.

"How is this possible??" The old man looked deeply concerned.

The foreigner also attempted to vanish on the spot, but reappeared in the same place, looking worse for wear.

At the villa’s entrance, a tall, dark-haired knight slowly appeared.

"Who might you be?" The old man asked in a deep voice. "I am the merchant Vendor Bender, you must have heard of me, right?"

The knight seemed deaf to his words, his gaze indifferently sweeping over the two of them.

Ten minutes later.

The entire villa collapsed into a pile of rubble.

Standing afar in the forest, he gazed towards Kyoto City District.

"I’ve already notified people in the Forest of the Sky to spread the news about the metal. Next are those in Kyoto City District. Eliminating these should suffice to get rid of this abominable thing that violates the rules," a little fairy flitted around him relentlessly.

"Hmm," replied the knight nonchalantly.

"This is where it ends," a cold male voice suddenly rang out.

The knight and the fairy turned to look behind them.

From the shadows of the forest, a tall man in a black suit stepped forward slowly. Two Longswords were strapped to his back, their crossed blades emitting an immense aura that enveloped the entire woods.

"I am Yuan Yicheng, tasked to intercept you here," the man said with a smile, slightly raising his hands as the Twin Swords instantly flew from his back into his grasp.

The knight looked at Yuan Yicheng calmly, taking in the seductively dressed woman who slowly emerged behind him, and then fixated on a shadow in the back.

There, a black figure stood silently, its facial features obscured, only the hilt of a black sword visible from the shadows.

"Knight, things seem to be getting troublesome, huh?" The little fairy’s face suddenly fell.

The knight’s gaze grew slightly more solemn.

Yuan Yicheng vibrated the Twin Swords in his hand slightly and pointed them forward. An invisible Sword Pressure swept forth, driving the winds to bow the grass on the ground to either side and sending leaves rustling to the ground.

"Lunar Brilliance..."

On the knight’s shoulder, the fairy suddenly soared into the air, a white cape materializing behind her, billowing in the wind.

Concentric circles of black ripples emanated from beneath her feet.

"Grand Lunar Blade!" Yuan Yicheng’s mouth twisted into a ferocious grin.

Two silver beams of moonlight erupted forth, accompanied by a clear sword cry.

A silvery figure instantly appeared in front of Knight, the Blade barely missing his throat with its horizontal slash.

The cold moonlight illuminated the faces of Knight and Yuan Yicheng. (To be continued. If you like this work, your votes at qidian.com and Monthly Tickets are greatly appreciated. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
