True Solution of the Sword Dao
Chapter 282 - 269: Interception I

Chapter 282: Chapter 269: Interception I

Lin Fei silently sat on the chair, somewhat subdued.

Lu Xiuya’s answer, although expected, still slightly surprised him. As one of the top Hua Nation Five Stars, at the peak of Hua Nation’s power, she must know everything there is to know. Of course, whether she had told him everything, only she herself knew. But it didn’t matter, he already understood what was necessary, and that was enough.

Originally, he was just an ordinary young man, seen as weak by his sister, ignorant of the Inner World, who died from the collateral effects of a battle in his previous life. To him, the Inner World certainly constituted a complete contradiction to his existing worldview. Put simply, he and Lin You were people from two different worlds. One from the heavens, one from the earth. But now, someone had clearly told him that this world actually had gods.

Xu Chang had once said the same. Gao Ge challenged a god, his fate uncertain. And now, in the Temple of the Gods that protected the entire Hua Nation, the existence of gods was confirmed. Or rather, a higher and more powerful existence. What about the Holy See then? As a parallel superpower, could there also be the same level of existence? The answer was self-evident.

"I understand."

Lin Fei stood up, "You rest well." He turned and walked to the door. He gently opened it.

A small figure sat near the entrance.

"Brother..."

Shuang’er threw herself into Lin Fei’s arms. She was now half as tall as Lin Fei, but still so attached to him. To say she was attached was an understatement; she placed all her bets on Lin Fei. He was her everything.

Lu Xiuya sat up in her bed, watching the two leave and close the door. She knew very well that there were some things she might never retrieve again. The flow of golden energy inside her was definitely not merely for healing her wounds. Just a moment ago, when the man’s emotions had fluctuated, she had distinctly felt the energy inside her resonating slightly.

Reflecting on her life, Lu Xiuya suddenly felt a sense of helplessness and melancholy she had never experienced before. She had a faint guess that the energy inside her could likely be influenced by this man.

"Being alive is already my greatest fortune." Lu Xiuya stretched out her hands, and a small black scorpion suddenly appeared in them, continuously emitting a faint golden halo signifying her ongoing healing.

Outside the door

Lin Fei gently picked up Shuang’er. Shuang’er’s soft, fragrant body made him relax completely.

"This time, I have a whole new understanding of the Inner World. I didn’t expect it to turn out this way with the four major forces controlling the four major entrances. Fortunately, I have the Random Teleportation Stone, otherwise, I’d be like other formidable beings hiding their identities with no escape." Lin Fei silently felt grateful for the deal he had made with Sulan Bei’er.

Suddenly.

"No!!!"

A scream rang out near Lin Fei’s ears. It was a man’s voice, filled with despair and disbelief, as if he had encountered a terror he had never imagined.

"No matter who you are." A deep, calm male voice suddenly came through. "I will find you, the established order must not be disturbed."

Lin Fei’s expression darkened. In his psyche, the connection to a seed of True Force was once again severed. And the words he had just heard were transmitted from the connection between the Power of the Divine Artifact on the True Force seed and himself.

"So familiar with the Power of the Divine Artifact. It seems the Dream Eaters are not as simple as expected."

Hua Nation, on an unnamed highway.

The sky was cloudless, a vast blue. A group of dark birds chirped as they flew over, their wing-beats fading into the distance. The sunlight was scorching, reflecting a shimmering white halo on the highway’s surface.

There was no wind, only the sweltering heat rising in waves.

On the road surface, a black sedan with smoke billowing out was quietly parked by the side, the front half of the car almost transformed into a twisted mass, the metal twisted beyond recognition of any parts.

The edge of the road was slowly wet with leaked gasoline. A thick smell of gasoline spread out. In such a scorching environment, the leaking gasoline was a prelude to an explosion.

By the car, a tall man in dark gray heavy armor stood calmly, like a strong knight from the medieval times, with a small white fairy sitting on his left shoulder.

In front of the knight, a middle-aged man lay weakly, gasping for air, his body continuously twitching, sweat completely soaking his suit.

"You... who exactly are you?" The middle-aged man suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, instantly releasing a strong smell of blood.

The little fairy immediately covered its little nose.

"Ugh... so stinky!! How did he suddenly become like this? Is he sick, or is it related to the thing we extracted?"

Xiu spread his palm, inside it a fine line shining with a golden halo lay quietly, constantly twisting like a living thing.

"This thing is combined with his life. He won’t live long," he said flatly.

The fairy flew off his shoulder, circled around. "What should we do then? Should we not have extracted this thing from him? Can we put it back now?"

Xiu shook his head.

"He was already not long for this world, a man meant to die, this line gave him a new life," he said as the golden fine line in his palm suddenly floated up. Then it burst open in front of him into numerous light points and dissipated.

"The golden Power of the Divine Artifact, such a familiar scent," the fairy sniffed. "It seems like the Artifact Family is making moves. Xiu, what do you plan to do? Find the source?"

"Congratulations, Jin Yi," Lin Fei said indifferently.

"After so many years, a breakthrough was only to be expected. There’s nothing worth congratulating," Jin Yi chimed in with a melodic laugh.

She had originally been stuck at the C-level peak, and following her revival, a short-term breakthrough due to her talents was unquestionable.

"The enemy has started to close in," Lin Fei glanced at Yuan Yicheng, "He has chosen the simplest but most effective method, blocking the True Force seeds I released one by one. His intentions are quite clear. He is forcing us to show ourselves."

"My Lord," Jin Yi stood up, dressed in a black dress suit and transparent stockings, looking less like a talented swordsman and more like a career woman. She slowly walked to Lin Fei’s side, turning her body gracefully as a faint fragrance wafted around.

"Please command me as needed."

"Since the opponent is so provocative, he will definitely choose the most time-efficient way to approach us. Please show me the nearest True Force seed point to the northwest," Yuan Yicheng said calmly. "Let’s wait for him there."

Central Hua Nation

Over a forest.

A pale red hemispherical light membrane suddenly lit up, expanding.

It covered an area of a hundred meters in radius but almost instantaneously, the light membrane abruptly disappeared.

In the somewhat gloomy woods.

Bang!

A red figure exploded abruptly, turning into countless fine streams and scattering in all directions.

"Xu, he is running away. Aren’t we going after him?" a little fairy wondered, sitting on his shoulder and swinging her legs.

Xu stood in the middle, calmly letting the fine red streams flee.

With a gentle toss, a strand of golden thread in his hand suddenly floated up and exploded in front of him, disappearing.

"It doesn’t matter."

The moment the golden thread exploded, countless red streams in the distance converged into a red figure, who stood there with a face full of shock, spewed blood, and fell to the ground.

*****************

In a spacious mansion.

A woman wrapped in a black bath towel was holding a white puppy while standing by the window, seemingly admiring her lawn and garden.

"Li Yan, it seems an outsider has come in. Take some people to check," the woman said softly.

At the back of the hall, a black shadow suddenly appeared, transforming into an old man with white hair.

"It is my neglect. I will go immediately," the old man’s form faded once more.

After a moment.

"Who’s there!"

The woman suddenly turned around, a flicker of gold passing through her eyes. She let go of the puppy, allowing it to scamper away in panic.

At the entrance of the hall, a large, gray-black shadow slowly emerged. It was a burly man dressed in heavy knight armor. Though the door remained closed, he passed right through as if he had been inside all along.

The woman shouted fiercely, "Who are you? Who sent you here! Is it Lan He?"

"Xu, a C-level peak Dream Eater has been dragged into this, it seems to be getting troublesome," a fairy flew out from behind the knight to sit on his shoulder.

"Rule breakers must be eliminated," the black-haired knight said quietly.

A circle of black light suddenly spread out from his feet. Like ripples in water, it expanded swiftly. Carpets, furniture, electronics, and everything else silently exploded around him, as if a mime show was playing out.

The woman’s complexion drastically changed, and she lightly leaped backward to avoid the ripple’s impact.

Crash!

The glass window behind her shattered as she jumped out backward, hanging mid-air.

With her hands raised, a huge black longbow rapidly formed in her hands.

"Green Demon!" the woman yelled.

Hiss!

The longbow vibrated eerily as a ghastly green-black ghostly face shot out, charging toward the knight inside the hall.

Xu gently raised his hand, targeting the woman in the air with a grip.

Snap!

A grotesque spray of blood suddenly exploded. The Green Demon along with the giant bow turned into numerous green-black streams that scattered away, a strand of golden thread shooting straight into Xu’s hand.

"How disgusting," the fairy covered her eyes, unable to watch.

The golden thread once again turned into countless specks of light in the air. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, we welcome you to vote for it with a recommendation or monthly ticket at qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
