Pat pat...
Feil reached out a paw and tapped the crystal.
"A Spinosaurus egg fossil? It’s clearly just a Black Crystal."
Feil checked the time. It was 10:32.
"Forget it, time to sleep." It yawned and took one last glance at the Black Crystal. Then, with a leap, it jumped down from the desk, shook its paws, and burrowed into Lin You’s blanket. Half-asleep and in a daze, Lin You stretched out a hand and pressed the light switch.
With a click, the room was suddenly plunged into darkness.
Both human and cat fell deeply into slumberland.
But neither of them saw the Black Crystal on the desk slowly begin to emit pulses of purple light, like a heartbeat, flickering on and off. It resembled the power light on a mobile phone. A mysterious vibration slowly enveloped the room.
The next morning
"Umm..." Lin You grunted from under the blanket, rubbing her eyes groggily and halfway waking up. "Need to go to the toilet..." she murmured, throwing back the covers. She probably thought she was still at home.
Click. The door was opened.
The hotel corridor was empty at this hour, everyone still asleep. Not even the service staff was around. The entire hallway was deserted.
Lin Fei got up early and rushed over, holding the plane ticket she’d booked the day before, ready to send Lin You home early.
She entered the hotel and took the elevator.
Lin You’s room was on the fifth floor, down the left corridor.
Ding!
The elevator doors opened. Lin Fei strode out and turned left.
All of a sudden, she froze in place, eyes wide at the scene in front of her.
Lin You was on all fours, crawling slowly towards her on the ground, looking puzzled and wearing only pure white underwear.
Just then, Lin You also saw Lin Fei approaching.
The two stared at each other, eyes wide.
Meow~~~ Lin You raised a paw.
A chill wind blew through...
"Lin You, you’d better put on your clothes first." Lin Fei’s mouth twitched slightly.
"Meow?" Lin You turned her head and looked around, utterly bewildered.
Lin Fei suddenly felt a severe headache coming on.
"Meow~~~~" Lin You pounced forward, darting towards Lin Fei.
"What are you freaking out about!"
Lin Fei, speechless, scooped up Lin You, pushed open the unlocked door, and walked in. Then she carefully closed the door behind them.
In the bed under the covers, a black cat lay with its paws up in surrender, drooling in its sleep.
Lin Fei, holding Lin You, breathed in the faintly scented fragrance emanating from her sister, feeling the warm and soft touch of her skin as Lin You curled up in his arms like a kitten.
Lin Fei’s heart wavered for a moment, but it was just a fleeting sensation as he suppressed the strange feeling in his heart. He gently tucked Lin You into the blankets.
Perhaps startled by the movement of the covers, the black cat slowly opened its eyes, but upon seeing Lin Fei, its eyes bulged, and its mouth dropped open in an O shape. With one paw pointing at Lin Fei, it trembled all over.
"This cat?" Lin Fei glanced at the little cat. "Seems like it’s Lin You’s, right?" He muttered to himself, puzzled.
The black cat stopped trembling, mouth agape as though it wanted to speak. But suddenly, it seemed to realize something.
At that moment, Lin You also seemed to have become much more lucid. She looked at Lin Fei in confusion, then at herself.
"What’s going on, Lin You?"
"I want to ask you the same thing! What exactly happened!?" The black cat’s voice trembled with outrage. "Why have I turned into a cat, oh my God!"
"I’m confused too." Feil, now in Lin You’s body, was clueless. "I knew it, I didn’t turn back into a human."
"What in the world happened?"
"It seems that, we have swapped bodies," Feil mused briefly. Then, her gaze suddenly fell upon the Black Crystal on the desk in the room, which had now turned completely translucent.
"Ah! I remember now, what that is!" Lin You pointed at the Black Crystal on the table.
Lin Fei, who was drinking water from the nearby dispenser, saw Lin You’s action.
"Lin You, should we... go to the hospital for a checkup?" He asked, a strange look on his face.
"No... nothing’s wrong..." Feil smiled sheepishly, retracting her hand. But inside, she sent a telepathic message.
"Lin You, I know why this has happened."
"Why, and when can we switch back?" Hope flickered in the black cat’s eyes. "Ah!! Clothes!! My brother is still here! This is crazy!" She suddenly remembered.
"Wear what?" Feil looked down at her body in confusion, scanning the white bra with shoulder straps and panties. "Aren’t I wearing something?"
"Outer clothes!!" the black cat hammered the pillow in frustration. "It’s over... I’m ruined... I can never get married now..."
"Why can’t you get married?" Feil asked naively.
"I’m dressed like this and my brother has seen me... It’s over... my image is ruined..." The black cat was close to despair.
"Is it that ugly?" Feil wondered. She rubbed her chest with both hands. "So small~~~"
Pfft!!
Lin Fei sprayed a mouthful of water out on the side.
"Meow!!" The black cat finally lost it. It leaped at Lin Fei. "Don’t look!!"
Smack!
Lin Fei easily grabbed the kitten by the neck, powerless to do anything about its futile struggles in his hand.
"Lin You, put on some clothes!" He felt it was inappropriate to stay any longer, quickly opened the door, and left, taking the kitten with him.
"I remember now, Lin You," Feil’s voice echoed in the black cat’s mind. "That crystal is the legendary Phantom Spirit Stone, capable of swapping the bodies of any Contractors, and it looks almost identical to the fake man-made crystals. It must have been mistaken by that guy for a man-made crystal."
Lin You was still clawing and biting; upon hearing the voice, instantly calmed down. "Then switch back quickly!! I can’t stand it!!"
"No way, we can only wait for time to pass. Generally, it takes about half a day," Feil replied helplessly.
"Half a day!!!!" Lin You collapsed again. "I’m done for... thoroughly done for..."
"It’s just half a day, it’ll pass if you endure it," Feil’s voice sounded a bit schadenfreude. "Besides, don’t you think it’s fun?"
"Fun, my ass!!" Lin You cursed. Suddenly it seemed to recall something, "Right! Can’t you change back into human form? Teach me how! How do you do it!!"
"You can’t. It requires a special spiritual frequency to resonate with the body for transformation. So just be a good little cat for half a day," Feil said proudly.
"No, please!!" Lin You began to scratch and struggle like crazy again.
Lin Fei frowned, but said nothing.
"Brother, it’s okay now," Lin You’s voice came out from the room.
Lin Fei, with a stunned look, pushed the door open and entered. This girl today called ’brother’ so smoothly and naturally.
Lin You was already dressed, in a white tight-fit T-shirt and pink shorts, slight curves and ivory-gleaming long white legs perfectly blending youthful vitality with sexiness. Her shoulder-length hair had a few strands falling in front of her chest, radiating a sort of lazy dishevelment.
Lin Fei looked at Lin You suspiciously. Although he always found his sister pretty, Lin You seemed different from usual today. It was as if her aura had changed.
"What’s wrong?" Inside Lin You’s body was Feil’s soul, and she seemed completely unaware of her strangeness. "Is something off?"
Lin Fei shook his head slightly.
"Forget it, here’s your plane ticket. It’s for this afternoon, so head back early and stop wandering off. Don’t make mom and dad worry."
"Thanks, bro!"
Feil accepted the plane ticket with glee.
"Why are you acting so weird today?" Lin Fei said, exasperated.
"Am I?" Feil looked herself up and down, "Looks pretty normal to me." Suddenly, her lips curved into a smile, "Oh right." Feil leaned in close to Lin Fei in an instant.
Swoosh!
She planted a small kiss on his right cheek.
In a moment, Lin Fei was dumbstruck, Lin You was as well, only Feil smiled.
"Brother~~~ Lin You has no money left, can you give me some pocket money, please~~~"
Suddenly, Lin You felt as if something precious within his heart shattered.
An hour later....
Lin Fei walked out of the room woodenly.
The bank card in his pocket had completely changed hands. And now, he only had enough left for some travel expenses.
"This is acting coy, right... right..." His mind was in turmoil. Shaking his head vigorously, Lin Fei strode into the elevator.
In the room
The black cat, hugging the leg of the table, wailed aloud, though its cries still came out as meows.
On the side, Feil, in Lin You’s body, was counting money with an air of nonchalance.
"Why... why..."
"Of course, it’s because we’re out of money," Feil said as if it were obvious. "Isn’t it natural to coax money out of your brother when you’re broke? It’s also good timing since we’re in such need of money."
"Feil, you old witch!! Give me back my innocence!!" The black cat lunged at her but was caught by Feil with one hand.
"Speaking of which, your brother is really rich, to get so much just once, several thousand for pocket money, and I checked the bank card against mine; there are several hundred thousand euros in it." Feil was quite satisfied, now they could buy some nice things to take back.
"Several hundred thousand euros?" Lin You suddenly stopped struggling. "How does he have so much money?"
"Your brother is so intelligent; maybe he earned it himself? Anyway, all I know is that we’re rich now," Feil said dismissively, "And your brother is really good to you, giving you so much money just for pouting once. I’ll try again later!"
"NO!!!!" Lin You stretched out a trembling paw.
"Just kidding." Feil grinned slyly. "But really, we owe your brother big time this time. Is there any need to always be at odds with him?"
"You don’t understand!!" Lin You was about to list the grievances, but when she got to it, she couldn’t tally them up. What she was about to say was from a long time ago, and they were all trivial matters. Upon reflection, the current Lin Fei was actually completely different from before.
"Understand what?" Feil pressed.
"Nothing... nothing..." Lin You trailed off, unable to continue.
"Be nicer to your brother. Don’t wait until he’s gone to think of cherishing him." Feil’s smile turned gentle as she lightly stroked Lin You’s head, a touch of sadness in her eyes.
"Feil..." Lin You stared at her, stunned. (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommend the novels and monthly tickets, your support is my biggest motivation.)
