True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 246 - 234 Splash 2
Chapter 246: Chapter 234 Splash 2
"Cultivating momentum is different from cultivating techniques. Those who cultivate momentum find it difficult to make further progress, and their advancement leaps instead of climbs steadily like the path of the Sword Canon. The two are completely different paths. To face and easily defeat a B-level opponent head-on, the power of the Star Shattering Sword Technique alone isn’t enough. It’ll require stronger attack Sword Techniques. Now that my True Force has been enhanced twice, I can choose large Sword Techniques that utilize great True Force to propel them. It seems I’ll have to choose stronger opponents from now on."
Thoughts swiftly transitioned.
The classroom door was gently nudged open a crack.
Since it was Sunday, there were very few students who actually came to the classroom. Other than some club meetings and student council conferences and the like, most of the classrooms were empty.
It was for this reason that Lin Fei chose to come to the classroom to think things through and sort out his current affairs alone. He hadn’t expected that this classroom would still be someone’s choice.
A silhouette peered into the classroom through the gap.
"Is there anyone inside?"
"One person."
The voices of two girls whispered.
"Let it be, this classroom has the best lighting."
"Alright then."
The door was gently opened.
Two Wenwen and Jingjing girls walked in, one dressed in a goose-yellow hoodie with jeans, and the other in a T-shirt and pink capris. Their style of dressing made it clear they were newcomers to the school, as only these newly enrolled female students would choose such attire.
Upon seeing Lin Fei sitting in the back corner of the room, the two exchanged a few words in whispers, then found two seats in the front row, placed their small bags with books on them, and sat down to take out their study materials for self-study.
The classroom was quiet. Each of them was immersed in their own tasks.
After about an hour or so.
Lin Fei stood up and left the classroom, heading downstairs. Having brought only one pen that subsequently broke, he now wanted to write something, to highlight some points or such, and had to go out to buy a new one.
But due to a habit formed during his previous college life, he left several textbooks in their original places as a way to indirectly reserve his seat.
The closest convenience store to the fifth teaching building was just a short distance away, outside a bath center, housed in a single-room storefront. The shop sold phone and internet cards, as well as some grocery items.
When Lin Fei arrived, two girls were leaving, each with an ice pop in hand. Since the place was close to the female dorms, most of the customers were female students.
Inside the shop, Lin Fei bought five ballpoint pens and a bottle of water before slowly making his way back to the fifth teaching building.
He climbed the stairs to the third floor and pushed open the door of the classroom he had previously been in. The room was empty. The two girls were nowhere to be seen; only the books and two boxes of milk were left on their seats, with no people in sight.
Lin Fei closed the door and returned to his seat. He had just sat down when the classroom door was opened again. The two girls walked in, still shaking the water off their hands, apparently having been to the restroom.
Once back in their seats,
Lin Fei had just picked up a pen and was marking key points in his book, his brain working rapidly to process the content.
A moment later, he heard a faint sound of footsteps nearby.
"Excuse me, I would like to ask if anyone came in while we were out?"
One of the two new girls approached Lin Fei’s desk to inquire.
"No one. Why?" Lin Fei looked up, puzzled.
Without answering, the girl returned to her companion to whisper a few words and then came back over.
"Classmate, may I have a look at your bag?" the girl requested with an apologetic smile.
"Did you lose something?" Lin Fei felt slightly uncomfortable and pulled out his small bag with books from the drawer, placing it on the desk. "Have a look for yourself."
"Sorry about this." The girl smiled, quickly picked up Lin Fei’s bag, and rifled through it. Inside were just a few ordinary textbooks and nothing else.
"It’s not here!" The girl turned to her companion and whispered.
"Are you sure you checked properly?" Her companion also looked puzzled.
The girl searched again but still found nothing.
At that moment, her companion whispered a few words in her ear.
Lin Fei’s smile faded and his brows knitted slightly.
Following her companion’s whispered instruction, the girl’s gaze shifted from the bag to Lin Fei, suspicion in her eyes.
"Classmate, could you please turn out your pockets?"
"Ladies, may I ask your names? Which department and major are you from?" Lin Fei smiled as he reached for his phone. "It seems I’ll need something to prove my innocence."
The two girls were taken aback, instantly understanding Lin Fei’s implication and their expressions turned sour.
"Would you not find such a request a bit excessive if you were in our shoes?" Lin Fei said calmly.
"Our things have disappeared, and there’s only you in the classroom. Who else could it be if not you?" whispered the girl’s companion.
"Give me your names and majors," Lin Fei insisted, smiling as he picked up his phone. "It looks like I need to record a little evidence."
"This phone can record our current situation on video."
The two girls fell silent, exchanging glances, both feeling somewhat at a loss.
"Record it if you must!" the girl who had lost her item bit her lip.
"Alright." The screen of Lin Fei’s phone lit up.
"I’m Lu Yanyan, and she’s Huang Ruotong. We’re both new this year, from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Class Two at the School of Computing," the girl blurted out their details.
"If we don’t find anything on you, we’ll apologize," she added.
"No need. I’ll post this video on the campus network," Lin Fei said with a smile. "Consider it a small lesson for you two."
"Who do you think you are! A lesson? You stole something and you think you can escape by acting like this. Don’t be polite to him, Yanyan, make him empty his pockets!" another girl yelled from the side.
Lin Fei was speechless, he really felt helpless in this situation.
"Tell me, what did you lose?"
"An MP3! An Apple one!" the girl’s companion said impatiently. "Come on, take it out."
"Are you sure it’s an MP3?" Lin Fei asked calmly, pointing to the spot where the two girls had been sitting. "See if that is it, under the desk next to your seat."
The two girls turned to look and indeed saw a black leather-wrapped MP3 player lying at the foot of the desk.
"Ok, I’ve noted that, this video might just end up at the top of the school forum," Lin Fei said with a smile. He picked up his book bag from the table and walked straight past the two girls, out of the classroom door.
The two girls looked at each other, only able to watch as Lin Fei left the classroom.
"Yanyan, what do we do now... now?"
Lu Yanyan was also somewhat at a loss.
"If this video gets uploaded to the campus website, it’s really going to blow up. From now on, who knows how many students will despise us," her companion said anxiously.
"Come up with something, quick!"
Lu Yanyan suddenly remembered the major and the name she saw when she was rifling through Lin Fei’s book bag.
"He’s from the theoretical physics class, we can get someone to help us."
***********
Lin Fei left the teaching building and went straight back to his dorm.
Just as he opened the door, he received a phone call.
"Hello, is this Lin Fei? I’m Ouyang Dong’s sister, Ouyang Ying. We’ve met before."
"Met before?" Lin Fei asked doubtfully. "I don’t think I know you, do I?"
"The last time I visited your dorm, looking for someone to help a girl move some books, didn’t you bluntly refuse me?" Ouyang Ying said.
After a brief recall, Lin Fei also remembered the girl with dyed hair.
"Oh, indeed we have met," Lin Fei responded indifferently, "What’s the matter?"
"It’s like this, you went to the fifth teaching building earlier, and you were in the same classroom with Lu Yanyan and the others?" Ouyang Ying spoke directly.
"Lu Yanyan? Yes," Lin Fei said as he placed his book bag on the table.
"I mean, as a guy, can’t you show a little grace? It’s just a small matter, right? Was there really a need to record it? To be honest, when I first saw you, I thought you were a decent guy, but now, I didn’t expect you to be so petty," Ouyang Ying said indignantly.
"I’m saying, our relationship isn’t that good, is it?" Lin Fei couldn’t help but be amused. His phone actually didn’t have a video recording feature; he had just bluffed to scare those two clueless girls. And now he was getting an earful from Ouyang Ying, who had come out of nowhere.
"Besides, whether I’m petty or not is none of your business, is it?" Lin Fei didn’t want to waste any more time on these trifles, "Alright, that’s that." He hung up the phone immediately.
But unexpectedly, the phone rang again.
"What else do you want?"
"I’m telling you!"
Ouyang Ying said fiercely from the other end, "If you dare upload the video to the internet..." Before she could finish, Lin Fei hung up again. He had no intention of bickering and playing this kind of game with ordinary people.
In the dormitory, Ouyang Dong, Du Xiaosheng, and Shi Ran were all there. Ouyang Dong and Shi Ran had computers set up at their stations, both playing games on their computers.
Lin Fei hung up his phone. Before long, Ouyang’s phone rang too.
Ouyang Dong answered the call, stepped out of the dormitory for a while and came back after about ten minutes.
"Lin Fei, step outside for a moment," he said to Lin Fei in a low voice.
Lin Fei stood up and walked out of the dormitory with Ouyang Dong.
The other two felt that something was wrong in the air.
"What’s going on?" Du Xiaosheng stood up and asked.
"Not sure," Shi Ran said with a frown.
Out in the hallway, students from other dorms were visiting each other, which made it relatively lively.
The two men walked to the very end of the dormitory building corridor, where there were fewer people.
"My sister told me to warn you," Ouyang Dong said gravely, "don’t do what you shouldn’t."
"Warn me?" Lin Fei was utterly speechless. Having followed Ouyang Dong out, he also wanted to see what kind of trick this kid would play. To his surprise, it was the same old tactics. If it had been when he had just been reborn, he probably would have beaten this kid up on the spot.
But this was real student life, university life. The sensation was familiar, just like in his previous life. The same old taste. Lin Fei suddenly felt an unusually nostalgic sentiment,
So, for the sake of nostalgia, Lin Fei cooperated and said,
"And what if I did?"
Thump!
Ouyang Dong suddenly kicked out.
Lin Fei casually stepped aside.
The kick landed on the wall, leaving a black footprint amidst the white. (To be continued. If you like this work, we welcome you to come to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets, monthly tickets, and to support. Your encouragement is my greatest motivation.)
