True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 233 - 223 Seed One
Chapter 233: Chapter 223 Seed One
Military training had officially begun.
All freshmen at Yan Capital University were required to change into camouflage military uniforms and assemble to be allocated their training positions.
Lin Fei directly created an alter ego to attend the military training on his behalf. Using the Power of the Divine Artifact, and employing a simple trick, he easily replicated the Dream Eater’s ability to create duplicates. After all, in the entire Dream Eater World, the origin of all Strength is the Divine Instrument True Lies.
As for himself, under the concealment of his aura, he transformed into someone else and went directly to the Pacific Exchange in Kyoto City, as described by the Mage’s Eye.
The Mage’s Eye provided clear records, the Pacific Exchange was located on the outskirts of Capital City, where one had to undergo a trading qualification review in a small tea house.
After leaving Yan Capital University, Lin Fei, having transformed into an ordinary middle-aged man, took a taxi.
"Where to?"
"Red Moon Tea House."
The driver hesitated.
"The Red Moon Tea House in Beilin District?" The place is quite famous, but it seems to have undergone some changes recently. The driver was also very aware of the tea house’s location.
"Yes, just go. The price doesn’t matter," Lin Fei said softly. He had no other choice.
Currently, he was utterly unable to utilize his True Force, which meant that his Tracing Shadow Sword Art could not be executed, nor could he use the Star Shattering Sword Art. The only thing he could rely on was the remnants of his pure essence, about a D-grade level at best. After all, aura is a Strength formed in combination with Essence Qi and spirit, but his current physical condition was too poor. Naturally, he couldn’t be strong.
Therefore, without the Tracing Shadow Sword Art and without speed, it was less tiring to take a car than to run there directly.
The taxi driver cautiously asked another question.
"Do you realize how far Beilin District is from here?"
"No problem, just a few hundred in fare," Lin Fei said casually.
"Then, alright," the driver nodded. He first wanted to make sure that the passenger was aware of the approximate fare, to avoid trouble later.
The appearance Lin Fei assumed was of a middle-aged man around thirty years old, with slightly dark and somewhat rough skin. His facial features were extremely ordinary, with a black scar on the left side of his face. He looked a bit formidable at first glance.
This technique of Sis’s allowed him to create any appearance he wanted at will, but there was one thing he couldn’t change, and that was his height. Everything else was quite fine.
Yan Capital University was located in the Mingnan District of Capital City, far from Beilin District, with several districts in between.
After about two hours of intermittent driving and stops, they reached their destination in the late afternoon.
Lin Fei paid the fare and got off the car.
There was a bustle of voices around him. Both sides of the street were lined with high-rise buildings of at least ten stories, completely enclosing the street. Standing on the road and looking up, one could only see a section of irregularly shaped, gray-white sky.
Even looking through the gaps between the buildings, one could still see only more buildings. This area was considered suburban, but it was actually on the edge of the city center.
In the middle of the street, a multitude of vehicles shuttled back and forth, while people crossed back and forth on the white zebra crossings. The place where Lin Fei alighted was right in front of a clothing store on the left side of the street. A few young girls, holding their bags, were just stepping out of the store.
Next to the clothing store, a redwood signboard hung quietly, with four large characters clearly visible: Red Moon Tea House.
The location of this tea house was rather odd, chosen amid the bustling city, surrounded by noise, a contrast to the traditional preference for tranquility among tea lovers. Yet, this storefront didn’t seem to mind.
The tea house occupied the space of three storefronts, with the redwood sign and a black wooden facade. It had a strong vibe of ancient Hua Nation architecture.
The doors were wide open; one could see the almost empty interior from outside. Among the passersby, only the occasional one or two would detach from the flow of people and enter, then quickly disappear into the inner room.
Following the procedure described by the Mage’s Eye, Lin Fei released a conspicuous trace of his aura without concealing it and then strode inside.
Behind the main counter, a brown-haired young beauty glanced at Lin Fei, said nothing, and continued with her tasks. Two more people came in after Lin Fei, a man and a woman dressed like typical office workers in professional suits and ties, with the woman wearing an over-the-knee skirt and stockings. They both seemed nervous as they walked in shoulder to shoulder. The man caught sight of Lin Fei, who had just entered, and his face immediately brightened. He quickly stepped forward in long strides.
"Excuse me, uncle, could you wait a second?"
Lin Fei turned around.
"What’s the matter?"
The young man looked to be in his twenties, with faint stubble on his lips. "The thing is, my sister and I are here for the first time and we don’t know what to do. Could you please show us the ropes?"
The young woman beside him, though dressed maturely, was clearly quite young, around twenty years old, with a delicate face. She quickly chimed in.
"Yes, uncle, we were sitting at the milk tea shop across the street for a long time. With so many people around, you seemed the most approachable, which brought us over to ask for your help."
"Why didn’t anyone else help you? I can’t be the only one coming in, right?" Lin Fei said with a smile, his facial scar tugging with the movement, giving him a somewhat ferocious look.
"It was just that, just that..." The young woman seemed scared but still giggled nervously, her voice quieting down.
At this moment, the young beauty at the counter stood up and said loudly to them, "Why are you here again? This isn’t a place for you; get out of here!" The young beauty was holding a portable makeup mirror and stepped out from behind the counter, her face full of impatience.
"Ignorant brats who know nothing shouldn’t be causing trouble here!" said the receptionist, without a hint of politeness.
"What’s with the attitude! It’s just a place for drinking tea, what’s so amazing about that!" complained the girl in a dress and stockings, pouting her lips.
"Yeah! We came to drink tea, which makes us customers. Since when do you throw customers out? How do you even do business?" the boy in a suit retorted.
Lin Fei finally understood. It turns out these two actually thought the Red Moon Teahouse was a business that just served tea.
Shaking his head slightly, Lin Fei couldn’t be bothered with the two of them and headed straight for a side entrance.
"Hey!! Mister! Wait for us!" The two youngsters hurried to catch up, but were blocked by the pretty receptionist.
"That’s enough, nobody wants to take you two with them, just go back already!" the receptionist said impatiently.
"Why not!" the girl said defiantly. "We’ve been here for five days, so why won’t anyone take us with them?"
Lin Fei opened the side door, and beyond it was pitch black, like a completely different world.
"Forget it, let them come in. I’ll take them," he said with a smile, turning back to the receptionist.
The pretty receptionist was taken aback, perhaps not expecting that anyone would be willing to take two ordinary people into the exchange.
"My qualifications are alright, aren’t they? The limit is three people, so taking the two of them with me shouldn’t be a problem," Lin Fei said smilingly.
The receptionist nodded.
"There’s no problem with that, but are you sure you want to take these two... they know nothing at all," she said.
"It’s fine," Lin Fei replied with a gentle smile. "Youngsters, consider it an adventure. One should have some thrilling and beautiful memories in a lifetime."
The siblings gazed at the receptionist with wide-eyed anticipation.
After hesitating for a moment, the receptionist nodded. "If that’s your wish, then please attach your aura to them."
"Aura?" Before the two could understand what she meant, Lin Fei flicked his fingers lightly, and strands of Essence Qi adhered to each of them.
"That’ll do," the receptionist said, returning to her post behind the counter with a hint of envy.
"Two lucky kids."
"Yay!" the girl cheered softly. The boy was also full of anticipation and curiosity.
The siblings quickly approached and bowed gratefully to Lin Fei: "Thank you, sir."
"No problem," Lin Fei smiled warmly. "I always enjoy mentoring the younger generation. It’s your luck that you noticed something different about this place. It won’t be long before it moves elsewhere. Think of it as a fantastical journey."
"Yes," they nodded obediently.
Outside the shop, three people walked in one after the other. Unlike Lin Fei, they all had a cold and haughty demeanor, with an indescribably fierce aura, though their strength was only at the unranked level.
The three took out black metal cards and handed them over to the receptionist. After she checked and returned the cards, they headed towards another entrance. Clearly, as described in Mage’s Eye, those below D-level had to complete the relevant procedures to enter.
Lin Fei’s decision to bring along the siblings was simply a whimsical choice and a bit of curiosity.
As Lin Fei was about to enter through the small door,
suddenly he felt a tug at his clothes from behind, as both siblings reached out to grab onto his clothes.
"Hold on tight," Lin Fei whispered.
The three of them entered a dark corridor, void of any light. The corridor was utterly silent, and as soon as they entered, the door behind them closed automatically. Darkness surrounded them. The corridor seemed to stretch endlessly forward. The feeling of flat wooden boards underfoot and a faint woody fragrance wafted through the air.
The corridor appeared to be quite long. They had been walking for more than ten minutes and still hadn’t reached the end.
The siblings, tense to the extreme, clutched at the back of Lin Fei’s clothes, not daring to let go.
Lin Fei was mentally prepared for this. The corridor took about half an hour to walk through. It was the direct route to the Pacific Trading House. Without the aura of Essence Qi or an access card, ordinary people would find nothing more than a dead end. But those who were qualified could keep walking forward and reach the actual Pacific Trading House after half an hour.
"We still have some time to go," Lin Fei said, taking out a newly bought mobile phone for light. "Tell me, how did you two find this place? And what are your names? You should be in university at your age, shouldn’t you?"
The phone’s light glimmered faintly in the darkness.
When Lin Fei asked his questions, the siblings regained a bit of composure.
The brother nudged his sister gently, signaling her to speak.
She quickly got the hint. (To be continued. If you like this work, please come to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets and Monthly Tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
