Chapter 751: Mou Qi of the Spirit Race

Chapter 751: Mou Qi of the Spirit Race

As soon as Zhu Ji departed, the golden bee that had appeared out of nowhere also vanished from Spirit Offering.

Xuan Ying's expression was complicated. "It seems he spared us only to protect Wu Yuan."

Elder Qu Long of the Demon Sect was drenched in sweat as he watched Zhu Ji disappear into the distance.

"It seems Lord He Motian no longer has a foothold in the Abyss. Zhu Ji's cultivation realm has already surpassed every True God in the history of the Abyss. Unless Lord He Motian descends with his true body..." Elder Qu Long said, shaking his head as a feeling of powerlessness welled up within him.

Elder Chen Xuanfeng sighed. "The Abyss has become a place I no longer recognize."

When they first sensed the unsealing of the barrier and felt the will of Great Demon God He Motian, they believed the time for their resurgence had finally arrived. They thought He Motian would easily possess Wu Yuan and take control of the newly ascended Demon God.

They had planned to use Wu Yuan's body as a foundation to unleash terrifying demonic might across the Abyss and overturn their declining fortunes in one sweep.

Unfortunately, the descent of He Motian's divine consciousness had been cut short. Zhu Ji even appeared in the stronghold of the Demon Scale Race and the Demon Sect, nearly razing the entire region to the ground.

"If Zhu Ji could come here, that means the seal on the Fifth World has been lifted," Elder Qu Long said, rubbing his forehead with a heavy sigh. "Xuan Ying, what exactly are the Rank Ten powerhouses of your Fifth World doing?"

Xuan Ying shook her head, dazed. "I have no idea. But I have a feeling that the Great Demon Gods won't be able to turn the tide if they don't enter the Abyss soon."

At the moment, Zhu Ji had already achieved a breakthrough in his cultivation realm, placing him at least on par with the mid-ranking Outer Gods.

This did not bode well for the future. With the dramatic upheaval unfolding in the Abyss, there was always the possibility that this reserved True God could break through once more.

If he advanced just one more realm, there was no longer any guarantee that even He Motian could subdue him.

Shockingly, despite Zhu Ji's overwhelming power, Pang Jian's simple command had been enough for him to withdraw from Spirit Offering without resistance.

How powerful is Pang Jian?

"Why? Why did Pang Jian tell Zhu Ji to stand down? Was it really just to protect Wu Yuan?" muttered a Nirvana Realm elite of the Demon Heart Sect, scratching his head in confused frustration.

In the Lunar Divine Palace, the Moon God rested her cheek on her hand as she sat upon her throne, expression tinged with sorrow.

"Han Yi, that Pang Jian you placed so much hope in has perished in the Nether Abyss," Ying Yue said with quiet melancholy. "I couldn't connect to his multicolored divine body while it was within the Nether Abyss, but I could tell he was alive.

"But now, I can no longer sense even the slightest trace of him within the Nether Abyss.

"Despite the chaotic situation in the Nether Abyss, he still chose to step into it at such a time. I truly don't understand him."

Ying Yue was conflicted. Though she often teased Han Yi for taking reckless risks for Pang Jian and chided her for seeing him as a source of hope, deep down, she too had held onto the faint hope that Pang Jian could eliminate the high-ranking God threatening Han Yi just as he did You Kui.

The loss of someone with such strength and potential brought Ying Yue a deep sense of regret.

The Frost Crystal God sat motionless atop her altar, like a statue carved from the ice, her flawless face sorrowful.

"I'm fine," she murmured. "That high-ranking God will be arriving soon.

"I feel like I'm responsible for dooming him. He only risked entering the Nether Abyss because he wanted to grow stronger.

"I put the pressure on him."

Han Yi sighed softly, expression full of quiet anguish.

Suddenly, the booming laughter of the Sun God rang out from the starry skies beyond the moon.

"Ying Yue! I've brought guests to visit you. Is the Frost Crystal God here?"

Countless Three-Legged Golden Crows dragged a massive divine platform straight toward the moon.

Another God soared alongside the Sun God's platform.

He had a tall, slender frame, light green skin, and wore a simple white robe. Though he stood upon no divine platform, he kept pace effortlessly with the Sun God.

"I am Mou Qi," he introduced.

The Bright Moon Race on the surface of the moon stirred restlessly.

"Mou Qi?! Mou Qi of the Spirit Race?!"

"A high-ranking God!"

"The Spirit Race is a powerful race with a Sovereign overseeing them!"

"If I recall correctly, Mou Qi is one of the Sovereign's most trusted lieutenants!"

The name Mou Qi had thrown the Bright Moon Race into a frenzy.

Many races across the vast starry skies had the character "Spirit" in their names, like the Geospirit Race, the Green Spirit Race, and the Shadow Spirit Race, but none dared to call themselves the Spirit Race.

All races bearing the character "Spirit" in their name regarded the Spirit Race as their superior.

The Spirit Race had been a powerful force since ancient times, nearly always with a Sovereign ruling over them.

It was a higher-tier race that surpassed even the Demon Races and the Ghost Race in strength and status.

Mou Qi, a high-ranking God of the Spirit Race and a trusted confidant of their Sovereign, had crossed an incredible distance to arrive at this part of the starry skies. Even He Motian and Zi Mo would be expected to take the initiative to make contact with someone of his stature.

"I didn't think he would arrive so soon," Han Yi murmured, her heart trembling.

"The Bronze-Masked God still hasn't delivered the full proceeds. We're running out of time!" Ying Yue anxiously straightened up on her throne. "Han Yi, don't be hasty. Let's try to negotiate with him first. That Sun God has always tried to win my favor, and it seems he's acquainted with Mou Qi. I'll ask him to put in a good word for us."

"I know you're not fond of that Sun God," Han Yi said, guilt clouding her tone.

"I may dislike him, but I can show him a bit of courtesy for your sake." Ying Yue replied as she gracefully descended from her throne. A stiff smile played on her stunning face as she greeted, "I never thought this little corner of mine would ever receive such distinguished guests. Please, welcome."

In a Sunken Crypt suspended between two stars, Zi Mo of the Ghost Race shuddered, then withdrew her divine consciousness with a hateful expression.

"The fundamental laws of the Abyss have changed," she muttered coldly. "That True God, Zhu Ji, has broken through and destroyed the vessel I chose for my descent."

Sensing her foul mood, the divine beings of the Ghost Race around her wisely remained silent.

"A True God of the human race has achieved a breakthrough while in the Abyss. This means the seals will soon unravel as well," Zi Mo said, sweeping her gaze over the group. "It won't be long before even low-ranking and mid-ranking Gods like you can enter the Abyss without resistance."

At that moment, she sensed something strange.

"Mou Qi? What's he doing here?" she muttered.

Zi Mo immediately reached out to He Motian with her divine consciousness.

Mou Qi is here, and he's headed straight for Ying Yue's moon. Do we go see what's happening? she asked.

Zi Mo, your vessel was destroyed as well? He Motian replied.

Just like yours.

The two high-ranking Gods fell silent. Then, without another word, both shot out from their respective domains, flying straight toward the moon.
