Trials of the Abyss -
Chapter 750: The Abyssal Demons Mighty Backer!
Chapter 750: The Abyssal Demon's Mighty Backer!
"Pang Jian!" the gaunt Demon God roared, the white bone spear in his hand igniting with a ghostly white demonic flame.
His demonic will spread like a suffocating tide, transforming into birds, insects, and fist-sized green-black demonic heads that drifted through the surrounding air.
"You insolent human! How dare you step into my Demon Realm and interfere in our internal struggle! Reveal yourself!"
As the word "reveal" left his lips, the summoned birds, insects, and demon heads spewed out minuscule demonic characters in unison.
The ancient demonic script, infused with the intent to reveal, brought forth the thoughts and consciousness of all surrounding living creatures, projecting them directly into the mind of the Demon God and granting him near-omniscient perception.
The laws connected to his Dao of Demon resonated with him, allowing him to sense everything within that ten thousand li radius. He was determined to drag Pang Jian out from hiding and crush him alongside the Abyssal Demon.
Suddenly, a power that transcended the laws of the Demon Realm obliterated the demonic characters, along with every bird, insect, and demonic head they came from. Everything born of demonic energy was wiped out in an instant.
The gaunt Demon God, one of the nine fragments of the Primordial Demon, was struck down. Even the ghostly pale flame wreathing the white bone spear in his hand was extinguished in a flash.
Fear surged in the Demon God's heart.
"Where are you? I don't believe you're Pang Jian from the Abyss! There's no way you have this kind of power! How can you interfere with my domain?!" he roared with forced bravado. "Pang Jian, come out and face me if you dare!"
While the gaunt Demon God could no longer detect Pang Jian's presence, he could sense that his Demon Realm was becoming increasingly alien to him.
A terrifying force was quietly rewriting the foundations of the Demon Realm, erasing the marks he had imprinted over many years. His domain was slipping from his grasp, and he had no idea where the hidden hand behind it all was lurking.
The Abyssal Demon, still sprawled on the ground, reveled in the return of his strength, greedily absorbing the demonic energy and the malicious thoughts of the living beings in this Demon Realm.
Eyes darting around in astonishment, he asked, "Pang Jian? Is that really you?"
"It's me." A familiar voice echoed through the Demon Realm once more, calm and resonant like the whisper of a high-ranking Demon God.
The Abyssal Demon's expression turned to one of stunned disbelief.
A seemingly endless stretch of starry skies separated this Demon Realm from the Abyss. Even the Demon Gods of this Demon Realm struggled to communicate with beings in the Abyss, yet Pang Jian's voice manifested clearly.
The nine demonic lanterns had been extinguished, and the nine Demon Gods within them could no longer exert influence over this Demon Realm.
The Abyssal Demon was no longer bound or suppressed, and the Demon God before him—another fragment of the Primordial Demon, like himself—had lost control over the Demon Realm.
Demonic energy that once belonged to his opponent flooded into the Abyssal Demon, and the wicked thoughts of the living beings in this Demon Realm nourished his soul. It was an outcome so baffling that the Abyssal Demon found it hard to believe.
He had a faint sense that the strange changes overtaking the Demon Realm were connected to Pang Jian, but the thought still felt inconceivable.
"Pang Jian, are you the one helping me?" the Abyssal Demon asked again for confirmation.
"I am," Pang Jian replied bluntly. "It seems your plan to unify the other fragments of the Primordial Demon hasn't gone all that smoothly."
"It really is you!" The Abyssal Demon let out a twisted laugh. "It went smoothly at first, but once they caught on, things started getting harder."
"Then let me help you."
"Where exactly are you?" the Abyssal Demon asked.
"I'm still in the Abyss," Pang Jian replied. After a brief pause, he added, "This Demon Realm will soon be yours. You'll be able to command all the power within it. The force I'm channeling from the Abyss will suppress the Demon God sharing your origin, as he used the nine demonic lanterns to suppress you."
As Pang Jian spoke, the sky of the Demon Realm quietly shifted. The ever-present demonic energy condensed into a pitch-black canopy that blotted out the sky.
The canopy crashed down like ten thousand demonic mountains upon the gaunt Demon God, crushing him beneath its weight. His body was bound, sealing his movements. Even the slightest twitch of a finger felt a hundred times harder than before.
"Abyssal Demon..." Pang Jian's body in the Abyss wore a faint smile. "I'll leave him to you. I imagine dealing with him won't be too difficult with your newfound strength."
The Abyssal Demon rose to his feet, gripping his sword as he burst into laughter. "Of course it won't be difficult!"
He had cried out desperately into the nothingness, believing he was doomed to become nothing more than fuel to strengthen the enemy's soul. As his hope was about to be extinguished, he felt Pang Jian's presence.
Pang Jian's familiar aura permeated everything. His subtle yet unmistakable presence stirred within the flow of demonic energy, throughout the malice and wicked intent of the living beings of this Demon Realm.
The sheer scope of it left the Abyssal Demon stunned.
For a second, he had thought it a hallucination, which was why he felt compelled to confirm it multiple times.
He had never imagined that Pang Jian would respond to his call from the Abyss! Let alone so swiftly!
Moreover, Pang Jian even seized control of the Demon Realm from his opponent and blocked the interference of the other Demon Gods, all in a manner the Abyssal Demon could not begin to comprehend.
How did Pang Jian do it?
The Abyssal Demon's heart brimmed with questions, as numerous and chaotic as the sinister thoughts swirling through the Demon Realm.
It had not been that long since he and Pang Jian went their separate ways—at least, not enough time to explain this extreme jump in power. The Abyssal Demon simply could not fathom how Pang Jian managed to extend his influence into this distant Demon Realm. After all, even the mighty Great Demon God, He Motian, did not have such an ability.
"Continue tracking down the other fragments of the Primordial Demon. I'll help you deal with them." Pang Jian chuckled, his voice echoing around the Abyssal Demon. "But before that, deal with what's in front of you. The rest can wait."
"Alright!"
The Abyssal Demon straightened up with renewed vigor and strode confidently toward his opponent.

After killing He Motian's vessel, Zhu Ji arrived at the heart of Spirit Offering on the Dark Abyss Continent, standing before the massive demonic stone there.
"Zhu Ji!"
"The strongest True God of the human race, Zhu Ji!"
"He—"
Xuan Ying of the Demon Scale Race, several elders of the Demon Sect, and foreign race warriors with Rank Eight and Rank Nine bloodlines gazed upon the uninvited guest with eyes full of reverence and dread.
News of the Bull Demon Race warrior, reduced to nothing but bloody mist on a destroyed altar, had long since reached them.
When Zhu Ji arrived in Spirit Offering, the demonic energy across hundreds of li around the Demon Lair abruptly froze. None of those present could absorb even a trace of it into their bodies.
Zhu Ji's strength filled them with utter despair.
"The Demon Lair is the source of all demonic creation," Zhu Ji said calmly. "I've come to destroy it."
Xuan Ying and the elders of the Demon Sect knew they stood no chance. There was nothing any of them could say to stop this.
At that moment, a golden bee fluttered in, hovering above the Demon Lair.
"Let it be," it said. "The one within the demonic stone is Wu Yuan. The Demon Scale Race and the disciples of the Demon Sect aren't worth your time."
Xuan Ying and several disciples of the Demon Sect paled.
Zhu Ji was slightly taken aback, but after a few seconds of silence, he turned and left without a word.
