Chapter 78: Chapter 78 Harvest

「Early morning.」

Alka suddenly opened his eyes. He saw Vanessa checking his body. With a thump, he sat up.

Can I move?

Alka lifted his arm and turned his head, confirming that he really could move.

"Alright, you’re fine now. You can get out of bed and walk around," Vanessa said from beside him.

"Thank you."

Alka said as he immediately jumped off the bed. His body was a bit unsteady, but he quickly found his balance, though it felt a bit soft and weak.

He and Vanessa walked out of the infirmary together.

As soon as they came out, they saw the deck was filled with the treasures Alka had taken from the Treasure Vault last night. It was unclear when, but the ship had already stopped next to the Island where they had previously dropped off the junior members. The ship’s junior members had also re-boarded. Under Chadite’s command, they were cleaning these treasures. Even Bobby Jason and Andre were beside various Treasures, conducting cleaning operations.

Seeing Alka walk out, Chadite turned his head, smiled, and asked with concern, "How are you? No problems anymore?"

Alka shook his head. "Don’t worry, I’m fine now."

Then he looked at the situation on the deck, and Chadite explained, "These Treasures have been in the Treasure Vault for too long. They need to be cleaned, and some items need to be re-packaged and preserved. That’s the only way to sell them for a higher price."

As he spoke, Chadite also smiled and winked at Alka.

"Then what can I help with?" Alka asked.

"Of course. Come, I’ll teach you."

Chadite handed a bunch of tools to Alka and started teaching him how to protect these treasures.

The crew spent the better part of the day on deck cleaning these Treasures.

When the work was finished, Alka looked at the stacked treasures on the deck. His eyes couldn’t help but light up. Now, they truly looked like a hoard of treasure. The dust of time had been removed. These Treasures once again displayed their original appearance.

"This time’s harvest is really good. Sad did a good job protecting these items," Chadite said happily from the side. Then he couldn’t help but complain, "If only all treasures could be preserved so well."

Alka, who now had some understanding, knew what this meant. Many treasures weren’t necessarily deliberately hidden. Perhaps they were left in some Treasure Vaults due to the original owner’s death or other reasons. Over time, many things would get damaged. This included paintings, fragile statues, and ornaments, even expensive equipment and decorative Armor that weren’t well protected. All of this could cause significant losses to their harvest. But this was unavoidable in the treasure-hunting process.

When you see an extremely valuable Treasure that, because it wasn’t well protected, has suffered various damages over time, causing its price to plummet... That feeling was so heart-wrenching it could take your breath away. So, encountering such well-preserved Treasures indeed made them a bit excited. The last time they were this excited was from the harvest in another of Sad’s Treasure Vaults.

At this point, Andre said, "Store these Treasures first. Later, I’ll figure out a way to sell them to those politicians on Meister Island."

"But we’re still wanted criminals on Meister Island," Jason couldn’t help but remind him.

Hearing this, Andre patted Jason’s shoulder. "You’re still too young. We are wanted criminals now, but that doesn’t mean we’ll always be. Nor does it mean that, as a wanted criminal, I can’t do business with them."

As he said this, Andre squinted slightly, a dangerous gleam in his eyes. "But this Governor... he’s quite annoying. We need to find a way to retaliate against him."

Andre hadn’t forgotten the wanted order the Governor had issued, which had caused their treasure-hunting career certain setbacks and wasted a lot of time. The Treasure Hunting Team weren’t exactly saints. Least of all their leader, Andre.

However, Andre changed the subject, saying, "We now have two keys. It’s time to explore the last Treasure Vault on the Island."

"What about those Shark Biters?"

"Don’t worry, they’ve completely lost. If they’re not complete fools, they should already be preparing to leave Meister Island."

Just then, a blue Flying Bird made of lines fell from the sky, landed by Andre’s ear, and disappeared.

After hearing the Flying Bird’s message, Andre smiled. "Looks like they’ve conceded defeat and already left Meister Island this morning. And they’ve become another set of wanted criminals on the Island."

"Get ready, friends. Tomorrow we’re going to claim our treasure."

At this time, Jason and Chadite came to Alka’s side.

"You took down that madman Nivek by yourself? How did you manage that?" Chadite asked curiously.

Hearing this, Alka pointed to his own head. "Used this."

TSK.

The two of them dismissively clicked their tongues.

Seeing this, Alka could only smile helplessly, shrugging and spreading his hands. "Alright, alright, I used the Spell of Mirror I mastered."

Hearing this, the two of them looked puzzled. Over the past few months, they had become quite familiar with Alka’s abilities. Alka often practiced his Spell proficiency in their presence, sometimes even asking them to help with his training. So they were familiar with the Spell of Mirror, but completely unaware of how it could be helpful in battle.

"I can’t demonstrate it for you now because I’m out of cards." Alka ran a hand over his waist. The stack of cards he usually kept there had dwindled to only six after last night’s battle. And the three cards left by Jack had all been used by Alka.

Hearing this, Jason remembered and rushed over to pat Alka’s shoulder. "That card you gave me yesterday was really useful! Without it, I would’ve been seriously injured just to stall that woman."

"Really? As long as you liked it."

Alka spoke, his thoughts turning to the exploration of the final Treasure Vault the next day, and the trials it contained. I absolutely have to prepare for that.

"I’m going now. I’m out of cards, and I can’t go into a battle tomorrow without any."

Hearing Alka’s words, Chadite nodded.

Jason said from the side, "Those guards on the Island shouldn’t put up too much of a fight, right?"

"Who knows? Better safe than sorry. Only with ample preparation can one remain composed in battle."

Alka said, waving his hand as he walked towards his room.

Chadite also went below deck.

"Alright, alright, then I’d better get to work too," Jason said, reluctantly returning to his room to start training his abilities.
