Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Simple Harvest

「After a short while.」

Lucilia’s head emerged from the ground, slowly rising. She was a bit out of breath and held onto Alka’s shoulders, looking very tired.

"Can ghosts get tired too?" Alka couldn’t help but ask, seeing Lucilia like this.

Upon hearing this, Lucilia raised her head and glared at him. "The further away from the Magic Mirror, the more energy it consumes, and the more exhausting it becomes."

Hearing this explanation, Akka nodded. "I see."

Lucilia, having recovered slightly, pointed at the sea beside them. "There is indeed a space below, but it’s too dark to see anything. However, there is an underwater tunnel in this direction."

Alka gazed at the sea surface. This means to reach it, I must find the underwater tunnel. Judging by the distance, the tunnel shouldn’t be long. After all, the difficulty is only ’Adult.’ If it were very long, it would likely be a challenge for diving experts or breath-holding masters.

He took off his coat, wrapped the map and some non-waterproof items in it, and hid the bundle behind some rubble. Although these were things of little value, losing them would still affect my mood. His two firearms remained strapped to him; these were not muskets but Vibrating Stone Guns, unaffected by water.

Following Lucilia’s indicated direction, Alka jumped into the sea. Beneath the surface was a massive, protruding rock. He swam along its edge and, sure enough, found a cave beneath it. Lucilia’s finger pointed toward the cave.

Having found the direction, Alka resurfaced. After taking a deep breath, he submerged once again. At some point, a Crystal Stone had appeared in Alka’s right hand, emitting a faint white light that illuminated the surrounding area as he swam toward the cave.

After swimming only three or four meters, he saw an entrance above and surfaced immediately.

"PHEW!"

Alka wiped the seawater from his face. The white light from the Crystal Stone instantly illuminated the cave completely. He used the light to survey the cave’s environment.

This place hasn’t been visited for a long time. It was covered with a moss-like substance, and some unknown small insects quickly retreated into the darkness under the white light. The only thing inside was a distant wooden box reinforced with iron bars. It was overgrown with weeds and moss, its wooden surface rotting, almost blending into the environment in the corner.

"Is this little box the treasure?" Lucilia couldn’t help but ask.

Alka nodded.

"This is too simple; it doesn’t feel like a treasure hunt at all," Lucilia said, looking a bit dejected at the Treasure Chest. To her, this treasure hunt was indeed overly simple. Alka had come directly to the location, and she had submerged to find the space and entry route, locating it so easily. "It doesn’t have the excitement of those treasure-hunting stories in books."

Hearing this, Alka chuckled. "Those are merely literary works. In real life, if you can find treasure quickly and safely, why not?"

He said this while looking around, carefully checking to confirm there were no signs of traps. Only then did he inspect the Treasure Chest. After shaking it lightly twice, he crouched down. It wasn’t locked, but the lid was reinforced with iron bars, making it seem heavy. He exerted a bit of force and opened it.

With the aid of the white light, he peered inside. The contents were wrapped in a waterproof gray cloth that emitted a faint Magic Power.

This is the ’Isolation’ Spell. This gray cloth must be made from material imbued with the ’Isolation’ Spell, directly enhancing its effect. Alka was familiar with the ’Isolation’ Spell; it was common, usually used to protect fragile items, and found in various scenarios. It could prevent damage from water and fire, and even resist corrosion. Valuable books, certain paper materials, or even food could be protected using this Spell.

Alka nudged the bundle with his pistol. After confirming there were no mechanisms, he picked up the cloth-wrapped package. It wasn’t heavy. He unfolded the cloth, revealing the items inside. A notebook, a book, a rolled-up scroll, and a disc, each with a faint, glowing outline, were revealed. Upon his touch, the glowing outline on the disc disappeared.

Acquisition successful.

Alka rewrapped the items in the cloth, picked up the package, and jumped back into the water.

He swam back to shore along the same path, gathered his coat and other belongings, and headed directly for the port.

「Back on the Sea Fist.」

Alka re-boarded the ship. The deck was empty. It seems the people left on board are either in their rooms or below deck. He returned to his room and changed out of his wet clothes.

The treasure hunt had been remarkably simple. This was mainly because the treasure itself consisted of items hidden by Sad. Alka already knew a great deal about Sad and possessed considerable information; therefore, upon discovering the treasure’s location, the relevant details became immediately apparent to him. Moreover, these were items Sad had hidden in his youth, without any deliberately set traps or obstacles. Thus, Alka had obtained it all very easily.

The treasures displayed on the map in my mind roughly fall into two categories. One type includes casually discarded, buried, or hidden items. These generally aren’t very difficult to obtain; as long as one finds where they’re hidden, they’re easy to retrieve—like Turandot’s relics or stashes of personal savings. Most treasures fall into this category. The other type consists of deliberately hidden items, concealed in secret, unexpected places, and often accompanied by mechanisms or challenges, such as Jack’s inheritance or Sad’s Treasure Vault. These treasures are in the minority.

「Sitting by the table.」

Alka laid the map of Holy Armor Island on the table and blinked. The blue light dot on it had already dimmed.

Information appeared:

[Buried Dreamland] (Harvest)

[Difficulty: Adult]

[Fame: 0]

[Treasure Information: In his youth, Sad was also a notable Treasure Hunter and Adventurer. The severance of his dream path led him to eternally leave the items he had prepared for embarking on that path here.]

[Treasure Harvest: Sailing Log, "Land of Dreams," Map, Locking Compass.]

No additional information. The harvest details perfectly match what I obtained.

He picked up the gray cloth-wrapped items and spread them out. The notebook was indeed the Sailing Log, and the thick, ancient book was "Land of Dreams." The rolled-up scroll was a Map.

Then Alka focused on the disc-like item. Is this a Compass? It was palm-sized and somewhat resembled jade. The back was smooth, while the front was engraved with patterns and Spells.
