Chapter 202: I already like the reward for not coming in first

So, Min-Cheol told me about the rules and I got the hang of it. I could blow the whistle whenever I wanted but I had to pay attention to foul play and know when to intervene.

In this game, it was something similar to, ’the best you do, the more of Jo-Pil’s attention you’ll receive’ so they wanted to do their best.

And because of that, they could do ’anything’ and I mean anything, including foul play.

So I had to keep an eye out for things like setting a leg to trip the opponent, stepping on their feet, pushing them, and stuff like that.

I’ve got my foul play goggles on, everyone. So, let’s do this.

But I feel like there’ll be a lot of foul play if the games don’t go according to the way they wanted, so I decided to put a wager as soon as Ki-hoon arrived.

"Anyone who has more than five," I paused, maybe five was too much. I raised three of my fingers. "Three. Anyone who gets more than three times of foul play will not get a hug from me for an entire month."

Something as simple as that was strong enough to shake them up.

"What if the fourth one wasn’t intentional?" Jin-Yeok asked and I squinted my eyes. In other words, the other three were intentional, right?

"Hmph, you guys should think of that before we start. I’m not changing my words so it’s final." I said, folding my arms. "So, try to stay away from foul play as much as possible."

That should do it.

"Then what will you reward the one with the most hoops scored?" Seo-Jun asked, his lips taunting me with a grin.

Gosh, his confidence was over the roof. Was he a former basketball captain or something? He sounded like he had never lost in basketball before.

"Well," I lowered my gaze. The punishment for the foul plays was no hugs then the reward for the winner should be something a little more grand, right?

"And for the follow-up winners as well." Min-Cheol added. "Though, I don’t plan to lose to anyone here," he said, glancing over the others before returning his gaze to me. "We need to know what we’ll get if we don’t fall into first place."

"Well," once again, I lowered my gaze, still thinking deeply about it.

The thing my masters liked the most... Was it a hug?

No, just telling them I would give each of them a hug wouldn’t cut it. I hug them every other day like it’s a routine.

Then... I snapped my fingers.

"A kiss." I said and their eyes widened.

"A kiss?!"

They sounded excited.

"I’ll give the rest of you a kiss if you don’t get more than three foul plays. A-and..." I stuttered, tapping the tips of my index fingers while pouting. I was shy. "The time of the kiss varies according to your positions and how many hoops you scored."

I slowly raised my head and found their faces red with excitement. Ah, was this too much for a reward? I mean, I was the one who asked them to play basketball, so I could watch, so I had to give them a reward.

But was the intensity of the reward too much?

"Is this alright? I already like the reward for not coming in first." Ki-hoon said. "What do I do?"

No, no, no. You all have to try your best. Don’t let the follow-up reward dismiss your confidence and hard work.

Gosh, should I just make the reward for first place more tempting? What could be more tempting than a lengthy kiss?

Not, sex, obviously. I can’t wager that.

"Then, since the reward for follow-up is this tempting," Seo-Jun spoke up. "Why don’t you make the reward for first place a date with you?"

I paused and then looked up at him. It was actually a good idea but why did I feel like this man was trying to trap me into a scheme of his?

He couldn’t get me to go on the date with him when he asked so if he won this, I would have to go on the date with him?

"A date?" The others seemed interested in it as well.

"But you shouldn’t take away the kissing part." Seo-Jun added, smiling. "It’s the cherry on top to motivate us, after all."

I gulped and then scanned around, staring at my masters who were suddenly on fire.

If this were the reward for first place, then they would definitely give it their best.

And any of them could be the first-place winner. It didn’t have to be Seo-Jun. He was very confident but the end might not be according to how he was expecting it.

"Alright, let’s do it like that." I said.

Although, the fact that I’ll have to kiss Seo-Jun willingly stayed at the back of my mind. I never thought I’d initiate a kiss with him and much more, as a reward.

Is it bad that I pray for him to have more than three foul plays?

Yeah, it’s very bad. I shook my head frantically, trying to get the thought out. I’m being biased again.

He’s doing his best, just like the rest of them, so I should look at him with the same eyes I look at my other masters. Let’s not do this to someone who was a struggling child, just like the rest of my masters.

I’ll root for you, Seo-Jun. So, I pray you do not go back on your words and make me eat dirt after trying to see you in a good light.

"Then, Hyung," Min-Cheol called, taking off his jacket and smiling at me. "Wish me luck."

My heart thumped as I watched my masters taking off their jackets and slacks, showing me the prestige of a sportsman. One with a great body, beautiful muscles, and a handsome face.

Gosh, I was swooning and my cheering spirit was at its peak.

I placed the whistle to my mouth and blew as hard as I could, till my face turned red, not from the pressure, but from how hot it suddenly seemed with these three smiling at me.

I was on fire.

So, let’s start this game, shall we?
