Trapped In A Marriage I Never Wanted -
Chapter 76: Deep Talk
Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Deep Talk
Matthias felt his heart once again struck by a powerful lightning bolt because his wife was acting selfishly. He understood what she was thinking. If he were her, he would also be reluctant to ask for help if the problem was particularly complex. However, that didn’t mean he should be yelled at like this. Just a few days ago, his wife had treated him with such kindness that his love for her had blossomed. Now, she was acting cold towards him again.
Meanwhile, Victoria still couldn’t bring herself to yell at her husband, who was too innocent in her eyes. However, if she brought this matter up openly, would he be angry? She worried he would do something stupid that would cost the company money.
"Please Victoria, can you talk to me about this nicely?"
"Matthias, if I tell you all this, will you actually scold me?"
"No. How could I act so rashly? If I wanted to help you, how could I end up scolding you?"
Should she tell her husband the truth? She didn’t want to do it alone without his knowledge. Could he really help her solve all these problems without messing things up?
"We’ll talk about it after we shower. Now I want to finish dinner."
In fact, Victoria was deliberately delaying the time to mentally prepare herself to tell her husband everything. After dinner, he had to wash all the dishes and utensils, then take a shower. It took her at least over an hour to stall.
After more than an hour had passed, she was now ready to tell her husband about her problems. Regardless of whether he would ruin her plans, the important thing was that she was determined not to hide anything from him anymore.
Victoria decided to discuss her problems in her husband’s room. She sat slightly away from him and lowered her head. She was ready for him to scold her for signing that stupid contract.
"Matthias, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to yell at you. I was actually afraid you’d complicate things, and I didn’t want to bother you anymore after all the help you’ve given me."
"What problems are you actually facing that you’re afraid to tell me? Are you being bullied again?"
Victoria nodded. "Actually, when I was drunk at a dinner party, I had a discussion with Chris."
"Discuss what?"
"Actually, the company wanted to launch a new perfume. The theme for this ad was summer. So, they asked me to be the model for the ad." A ragged breath escaped her lips. "Because the backdrop is the ocean. I had to wear a bikini for swimming and for the photoshoot."
Matthias’s eyes widened. "What?!"
"In the middle of that scenario, I had to kiss a male model."
Now Matthias understood why his wife was reluctant to discuss this with him. He was understandably furious to hear this, especially at the thought of her kissing another man in her bikini, looking like she was filming a sex scene. However, he had no right to scold her for agreeing to the offer.
"But, what if you cancel the agreement?"
"I had to pay a pretty big penalty. I had to mortgage my studio, too."
Matthias hit the headboard hard to vent his anger. "I knew he was so cunning! How dare he take advantage of you like this!"
"I was forced to comply with his wishes so I could save my studio."
"So, you’re just going to sell yourself? You’re willing to let your body be seen openly by everyone in this world? You want me to see you kissing another man?"
"Matthias, but this is the only way I can save my studio."
"No. There are other ways I can do it without you having to do that forbidden scene with another man."
Victoria rolled her eyes as she shifted her bottom closer to her husband. "How?"
"I’ll tell you once your problem is resolved. I’m confident my plan will save you." His right hand slowly stroked his wife’s head. "My wife, you can’t always solve problems on your own. If you want your problem resolved quickly, you can talk to me first. I will help you."
"But, I don’t want you to feel tired taking care of a troublesome wife like me. You’ve already helped me too often."
"Since when did I think of you as a troublesome wife? I’m actually happy to help you. I hope you’ll be more open with me."
"In fact, Ansel didn’t go this far. I’ve had major problems before, too, but Ansel wasn’t able to solve them for me. He could only apologize to me, and I have no right to blame him. The important thing is that he tried to help me."
Matthias rolled his eyes. "Ansel is unreliable! He’s just a good talker!"
"But, can you prove that tomorrow’s plan will go smoothly?"
"If I fail tomorrow, you can divorce me immediately."
"Matthias..." She spontaneously stroked her husband’s left hand slowly. "Thank you for helping me again."
"I really enjoy helping you. I don’t do it out of necessity, but I enjoy seeing you free from your problems. I want you to always smile in front of me."
In the end, Victoria showed her husband her most beautiful smile. "If you hadn’t made me angry, of course I would have always smiled at you."
Matthias embraced his wife lovingly, pressing his lips to the top of her head for a few seconds. "I plan to meet him in person tomorrow morning."
"This fast?"
"Do you want this problem to be resolved quickly? Moreover, I’m so disgusted by the thought of you doing it with another man! I want to free you in a more effective way."
"What way is that?"
His lips pursed as he gazed at his wife’s beauty, still radiant even though it was nighttime. He loved seeing her up close and didn’t want to let her sleep in the guest room again.
"I will tell you everything tomorrow, after I have successfully negotiated with Chris."
