Chapter 80: Ch. 38 Part 1

********

At Big Stone Village

"Wh....what?!" Yu was flustered and embarrassed by what Lin said. He turned red from anger.

"She sneaked and kicked me, i didn’t expect her to kick me then. If it wasn’t that she sneaked attacked me, she could never have been able to kick me!" Yu defended refuting Lin’s words.

"Yes! Yes! it was a sneak attack! If not how could a girl hurt elder brother Yu?!" the voices of his fellow sect members erupted.

"How naive" a voice cut them off, they all turned to where the voice came from, a young man dressed in black and white robes with a crown which was slightly different from that of Lin’s was walking towards them. One arm behind his back and the other holding a fan, it was as if his whole body was radiating rays of light. Unlike Lin who was with a playful demeanor, he looked very serious which added another kind of charm to himself, and beside him was a beautiful woman dressed in somewhat similar robes like him. Just a glance at her face sent all men’s hearts racing, with just a glance they could tell the two were sect members of Lin and Baihu.

"I have seen elder brother Lin!"

"I have seen eldest brother Lin!"

Both Mei Lin and Feng greeted respectfully. Lin smile and nodded.

"You’re both here!" Lin looked happy seeing them, to them they cared and cherished each other a lot.

"I have seen elder brother Feng!"

Baihu also greeted with enthusiasm. Feng returned back his greeting with a smile.

"I have seen husband!"

"I have seen wife!"

Mei Lin walked to Baihu as they both greeted each other, since being mated, Yanzhi recognized them both dao companions. And since then they’ve been referring to each other as husband and wife, just like how they see others do and Yanzhi and Xiao Ling.

The disciples from Master Zhang’s school were shocked to see Baihu and Mei Lin intimately with each other, the villagers have long gotten used to it but seeing that still sent them envíous. All disciples of Yanzhi were beautiful women and handsome man, always dressed in luxury and eat luxuriously, even servants are dressed in luxury. Unmarried woman and gers have the thoughts of approaching them, thinking if married to them, they would also live luxury and be the envy of others. But they have never caught the attentions of Yanzhi’s disciples, and two are even married to each other, what if the rest married each other too, the unmarried woman and gers along with their scheming families didn’t want that.

"You’re married? How can surname name Jun accept married couples as his disciples, this is why I said he is fake!" Yu said baffled, he changed the way he was addressing Yanzhi after several warnings from Lin and Baihu, but still he sounded disrespectful.

"Is there something wrong with our husband and wife? Is there ever a saying that fellow sect disciples can’t marry each other?" Baihu asked in a sharp tone.

Yu was cornered by his question since there was no such rule, but he just won’t back down like that. "Still having married each other and in the same school, how can one focus on martial arts?" he refuted.

"From your words, you haven’t trained to resist your inner desires. You humans have always been weak from resisting your desires, so it’s no wonder you think in such a manner. We’re not weak to our inner desires like you" Mei Lin threw back coldly making Yu flustered more. Their audiences laughed finding her words funny, they couldn’t tell what was going on but what they all knew was that they wanted to see who wins.

"If you think us weaker than you, then why are you hesitating to accept our duel. We just want to exchange techniques to see who is better, your techniques or ours?" Yu said boldly.

"That indeed is interesting.....but we’ll have to put that aside until master’s return. We can’t decide things as such without master’s permission." Feng replied to him.

But Yu just thought that they were just scared and didn’t have the guts to accept the duel, he scorned at them. "You’re that afraid to accept our duel?" he gloated.

"Do not misunderstand the meaning of my words... but either ways, I’ll have to ask you to leave, we still have works to finish." Feng said, neither accepting the way Yu interpreted his words nor refuting.

"Then let’s make a bet, we both bet our school. Your school will fall under our school when we win....same goes for our school, hmp..only if you win" Yu stated confidently.

"Now that’s an interesting bet. We accept your duel" Lin suddenly said smiling brightly.

"Elder brother!" Feng called out.

"How can you decide such a thing without first consulting master?!" he asked in anger.

"I’ll take all responsibility for my decision." Lin cut him off with just that.

"But..."

"Or are you afraid that we will loose to them?!" Lin faced him and asked seeing that his mood was complicated.

"Nonsense!" Feng strongly refuted.

Lin smiled "then don’t worry about it and let’s just duel with them." he patted Feng on the shoulder. Feng nodded and gave in.

"We have four people here, so let’s go with one each. Select your members. It just a duel so nothing extreme, it’s a lost when the opponent is unable to continue" Lin decided on a simple rule.

"That’s okay with us" Yu accepted.

They made a big space enough for them to duel freely, the audiences moved back giving them more space and they watched with excitements. They were just peasant families from a village who have never witnessed martial artists duel before, although they’ve heard stories but this was their first time witnessing in person so they were in excitements.

Yu chose his members with him as one and the two who wore the same robes as him and rode with him and another one from those who came in the donkey cart. After the stage was set, Baihu was chosen to go first with one of the members of Zhang’s martial arts school who wore the same robes as Yu.

On the stage the two stood facing each other as they cupped.

"Baihu, sixth disciple."

"Lei Ju, third eldest disciple"

The both introduced, Baihu said in a mild tone as the other spoke in an arrogant overbearing tone.

"Where is your weapon?" Lei Ju asked seeing that Baihu came to the stage without bringing along a weapon.

"You don’t have to care about that, i can fight with my bare hands" Baihu replied bluntly.

Lei Ju frowned, he took Baihu’s words as Baihu being overconfident. "Don’t say i bullied you when you loose!" he retorted thinking himself superior to Baihu.

"You need not worry....i won’t loose to you!" Baihu turned serious as he said coldly.

"Bold words! Here i come!" Lei Ju dashed to Baihu with an axe-like spear.

"Wudang Longhua Quan Technique: Dragon Hibernation Stance" Baihu also took his stance.

The villagers felt their hearts raced as they watched the twos exchanged, one strikes then the other blocks or dodges. Then it goes the other way, but between all everyone could see, even the villagers who didn’t know anything about martial arts, that Baihu had the upper hand in the duel.

Baihu who got bored of playing around with his opponent decided to bring the duel to an end. "Wudang Longhua Quan Technique: Dance Of The Dragon" like a raging storm of fire, his attacks became sharp and heavy. Lei Ju could no longer defend from Baihu’s attacks and just received them without being able to do anything, with a last blow from Baihu, he was sent falling back. Lei Ju laid down unmoving and could only pant.

"Brother Ju!" the disciples of Zhang’s martial arts school shouted and rush to him.

"This round goes to brother Baihu" Yu said holding back his anger.

Baihu nodded and said nothing and left the stage. "Eldest brother Lin, elder brother Feng, Mei Lin...i won!" he announced excitedly. The rest laughed and smiled happily. "Good! Junior brother Baihu did well in holding back and not using qi!" Lin was praiseful of him because the whole time Baihu duel he didn’t use qi. It wasn’t that he was prevented from using qi in his duel, but because he was new to cultivation and martial arts, learning to fight without relying on qi was good as a lesson to him.

But their opponents weren’t as cheerful as them, they watched them with stunned expressions and hatred. They couldn’t believe that their martial arts lost to a fledgling’s, that was how they thought of Yanzhi, and they couldn’t come into terms that a young man like YanZhi was also a master who taught others martial arts.

Feng stepped into the stage with his opponent who was also dressed in the same robes as Yu and Lei.

"Feng, third disciple"

"Dong Jiu, second eldest disciple"

They both cupped and introduced. Dong Jiu unsheathed his sword and took his stance.

As soon as the flag was lifted for them to fight, Feng unfold his fan. "22 Immortal Blades Technique, First Art: Immortal Wind Strike" with a flick of his hand a strong wave of wind was directed to his opponent. Dong Jiu stood stunned and dazed without being able to even take a step as he was blown and hit hard against a tree far behind. He spit out a mouth full of blood falling with a thud on the floor and loosing his consciousness at once.

Feng calmly walked out from the stage with elegance under everyone’s shocked gaze, no one said anything as it was obvious that he won the duel.

"Internal force energy!" a middle aged man hidden amongst the crowd muttered to himself.

"Master what did you say?" a young man beside him asked, but the man just kept mute saying nothing.
