"What do you want, materials or already refined artifacts?"

Like a thunderbolt, master Zhang wasn’t sure whether his hearing was still working. Ignoring his staggered expression, Yanzhi went straightforward to business.

"Wh-what?" master Zhang was still unable to come through, even both the county magistrate and madam Huang were surprised. Was is always that simple to discuss business? They thought at worst Yanzhi will reject cruelly or it will take master Zhang a lot of pleading to even get one or two resources from Yanzhi. Unfortunately Yanzhi did the opposite of what they had expected rendering then unable to think straight.

"Weapons, artifacts, talisman, formations, pills, elixirs, technique books, herbs, materials for crafting, you name it. Which of it do you need?" Yanzhi continued not waiting for him to come through.

Master Zhang: "!!!!!!!" shock upon shock.

Magistrate Huang: "!!!!!!"

Cheng Lin: "!!!!!!!"

Yu: "!!!!!!!!"

Having only heard of just a few of the mentioned above.

Madam Huang: "??????"

Servant Huang: "????"

Never heard of any of them, just what the hell are those???

"M-m-master Yan y-you even have.... elixirs? The same elixirs that only cultivation masters have seen?"

It was as if the world was spinning in circles.

"Master Yan, isn’t it that elixirs and formations can be used by only cultivators?" magistrate Huang who could still think rationally abruptly stood up from his chair and was in disbelieve.

"Ignorant fools!"

Yanzhi sneered and was really disgusted by their ignorance, he couldn’t stand how people of this space were so ignorant in everything. Not knowing the true way of practicing the Dao and knowing nothing about martial arts. Really, what is it that they did know? he wondered deeply. Even Bee who looked stoic all year round almost wanted to roll his eyes, and for Chang and Yue beside him, they rolled their eyes in style as they both said "bumpkins!" loudly. Chang pulled himself across Yue towards Bee, his face so close to Bee’s. Bee calmly pushed his face away in discomfort of him staring at himself intently. "What is it?" his voice lacking any emotion he asked the other. "Eldest brother...I think I saw you roll your eyes." Chang said with doubts, this his eldest brother was always with an expressionless face so how could he roll his eyes? "You’re imagining things." Bee denied calmly, but Chang didn’t buy it. "I clearly saw your eyes twitching..." he insisted "I believe eldest sister also saw it too, we both looked at the same time." he pointed out asking Yue to prove his words. "I never saw!" she lied and stood with Bee without batting an eye. "Eldest sister you’re lying with your eyes wide opened!" Chang felt aggrieved and decided to not mind those two partnering to deceive him when he clearly saw it, hmp!

"Cultivation and martial arts aren’t so different, both cultivators and martial artists all practice by refining the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. The only difference between the two is that one can ascend while the other can’t, you ignorant fools don’t even know what you practice. Elixirs, formation, artifacts are all refined by relying on spiritual energy to the materials, cultivators with fire roots use the fire produce from their roots while those without fire roots can also refine depending on things like fire stones and fire talismans that can generate the strong fire needed to support the refining, even better with heavenly and earth fire. All things is supported by spiritual energy, since martial arts is also supported with spiritual, what prevents a martial artist from being able to refine and craft?"

After Yanzhi was done speaking, his words danced in their minds slowly shattering all that it is that they’ve learnt and knew. It felt as if they’ve never knew what is it to be a martial artist and that what they’ve been practicing all year round was useless. Their inscrutable countenance were complicated and their hearts felt heavy.

Yanzhi found their appearance which made them look more and more like idiots to be infuriating, he got up from his jade throne and walked down the platform gracefully to them.

"Take one each." taking out a bunch of talismans from his space ring and holding them between his fingers he order. Turning to look at him still in a confused state they didn’t know where the things he was holding were taken out from, because none of them had their attentions on him. With doubtful looks apart from Bee, Yue and Chang everyone else took one talisman each, including madam Huang and the servant. They turned to him eyes full of doubts, while looking at the yellow paper with weird scribblings on them.

"Sect master Yan what are these?" Cheng Lin inquired curiously.

"Talisman." he looked at them with a rare surprised look "haven’t you even seen one before?"

Cheng Lin shook his head like a lizard, and the others coughed covering up their embarrassments. Yanzhi suddenly wanted to curse at these bumpkins.

"Forget it! Looking at you all who are no less ignorant than infants, this deity will do you a favor and teach you the true way of being a martial artist." Yanzhi was feeling generous so he decided to do a favor to them. Momentarily taking them as his students he unconsciously addressed himself as he would with his disciples. Although his words sounded strange, but how could these bumpkins point out the wrong in his words.

"Master Yan.."

"Shut up! Do not disturb when I teach!"

Cutting off master Zhang rudely as he was about to speak, Yanzhi warned in a chilly tone. Master Zhang became as quiet as a mute not daring to even breath, the others were not much better than him.

"What martial artist call the internal force strength is the spiritual energy absorbed from heaven and earth and stored in the dantian, once a martial artist has reach some stage of practice the internal force strength can be released as external force strength." To make them understand what it means to practice true martial arts, Yanzhi decided to give them an understanding on spiritual energy which is termed by martial artists as internal force strength. Fortunately they could understand some of his words even if not all. Martial artists here are put in Ranks of 0 and 1 martial artist who have some skills but can not perceive internal force strength, from Rank 2 martial artists who are considered to be at the beginning of perceiving internal strength. That’s how it goes and Rank 6 martial artists going are considered intermediate of internal strength, up to Rank 10 martial artists who are considered full strength of internal strength. And above Rank 10 is were the cultivators come in. When one is lucky to be taken in by a cultivating master the person can embark directly on the road of cultivation with good resources, but when starting as a martial artists it is very hard for one to break through in Ranks, and when one persisted and crosses to Rank 10 it’s almost impossible to achieve a break through and embark on the road to cultivate immortality without guidance. Rank 10 martial artists are very hard to come by and the only few around some have run out of their mortal livespans and died. In this space which lack the resources to cultivate, even the few cultivators around are unable to achieve true immortality and are running out of vitality and essence can only wait to perish, much less martial artists who could only live up to 200 years in all their live time.

"Guide that force in your dantian throughout your meridians and into the talisman." he made a very simple seal with his hands, his hand with a talisman stuck between his index and middle finger pointing up was forward and the other hand was much closer to his face with the same index and middle finger pointing upwards. The all did as he demonstrated, he nodded in satisfaction thinking they were not all that hopeless. He place down his hands and continued on with the last instructions. "Once the force from your meridians settles into the talisman you throw and release." he concluded. "Now try it."

They all nodded and focused on putting into action his instructions, slowly the scribbles on talisman flicking as it lights up and dim due to their inability to control well.

"Ah!" Cheng Lin screamed and dropped the talisman which suddenly lit up in fire, he stepped back with a startle, the others looked at him in disbelieve and envy.

Not bad, he has a very good control, Yanzhi thought. But would he praise others so easily? The answer was naturally, no!

"Didn’t I tell you that once your spiritual force settles in, you threw and release?" he scolded with a cold face.

"I’m sorry master Yan, I wasn’t focusing well." Cheng Lin cupped and apologize.

"His aptitude isn’t that bad." Bee who has been quietly watching voiced out his thoughts.

"En." Yanzhi hummed casually.

"First Elder Jiang..."

"You’re still a bumpkin tho, don’t let this little praise turn you into a bigger idiot." Bee viciously cut him off seeing that he was getting excited by his words, in the first place what he said was never meant as a praise. Cheng Lin decisively closed his mouth not daring to say anything, First Elder Jiang is too fierce, he thought dully.

"Take it and try again, don’t waste it again or you’ll have to pay for it"

Taking Yanzhi’s talisman which he used as demonstration but didn’t use, he went back to start over again. After sometime the first one to succeed was master Zhang, followed by magistrate Huang by minutes and then Cheng Lin and finally Yu who wasn’t happy because Cheng Lin succeeded before him. There all manged to make only a spark with the talisman, Cheng Lin making it burn by mistake was just that, he couldn’t do that for the second time. When they were done they were all sweating and panting as if they’ve been fished out of water.

"Ha, ha ...m-master Yan, ha, ha ...th-this is ...hard...I feel ...so drained." Master Zhang said panting like a dog in between his words.

Their appearance disgusted Yanzhi a lot. So weak! he lamented.

"It’s only natural, you just sit down and mediate for a while and you’ll be alright. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to waste with you so I’ll give you pills to restore back your energy in seconds." as he spoke he opened the cork of the bottle, medicinal fragrance filled their nose, just by smelling they started feeling refreshed. He passed them each one pill thinking, as if he already knew they’ll end up in such a state, he took out the qi restoration pill prepared down, what he gave them was a low grade of it. His previous thoughts about them not being all that hopeless was retracted back! True to his words they felt their energy restored back to full, they couldn’t help but eyed the bottle he put away, good thing! They all thought.

"Master Jun, this...I couldn’t make it work." Madam Huang said returning back the talisman of both she and her servant.

"I never expected you to make it work, you’re not a martial artist and incapable of using internal strength. In the first place you couldn’t use the talisman, it is activated using internal force strength. But if you want some for protection, I can sell you some which doesn’t require activation, once in danger it’ll activate by itself when it senses danger. And that could only be protective and defensive charms and a few other ones, but all attacking talismans needs to be activated with spiritual energy." his words were mixed explaining for martial artists and cultivators, but the overall point was understood by them.

They were all excited and with expectations. "Then master Yan, can you sell us some?" magistrate Huang asked. He had just come here to see a joke and looked down on the newly established school, but what he was met with was beyond everything be could ever imagine.

"Let’s go, I’ll take you to see and choose what to buy yourselves. I can sell you only low grade ones when coming to make purchases directly and at the market price. But for middle grade and high grade, you can win the bid for it once the Auction House is opened."

"Bid?"

"Auction?"

Haven’t never heard of such terms they were full of doubts.

"Let’s go, Yue will explain as we walk." he moved forward after saying that without waiting for them to react.
