Xile saying he was going to inform Yanzhi first didn’t mean he was going to climb up TianXin mountain, he simply took a few steps away from them to a corner where they couldn’t see or tell exactly what he was doing. The old servant and madam Huang looked at his back with doubts, didn’t he say he was going to inform his master, but why did he just move a few steps away from them and not going up the mountain? They were filled with questions but still decided to wait first. Taking the storage bag from his waist he took out a smooth looking jade stone, bit a finger and dripped a few drops of blood on it as he sent his spiritual energy into it. The stone light up and a distant serene voice came through. "What is it?"
"Sect master, madam Huang is here with the county magistrate requesting for an audience with sect master." Xile quickly explained the reason for contacting him.
No sound came from the stone for a while, if not that the stone still remained glowing Xile would’ve have thought that Yanzhi had caught off the call.
"Invite them up, Chang will take care of the rest." Yanzhi’s distant voice sounded again.
"Okay." Xile watched as the glow subsided before putting the stone back into his storage bag.
He walked back to the carriage and saluted once more to madam Huang under their doubtful looks.
"I have informed sect master of your visit, and he said to bring you up." he informed them, but they were still with doubts and unbelieving. When did he inform master Yan when they all saw him just standing there.
"You.."
"Okay."
Both madam Huang and the servant spoke at the same time. When that happened she glared at the servant who shut up and said no more.
"Husband let’s go down."
Xile heard madam Huang saying to the county magistrate who had not spoken a word from when he approached. He waited and the two came down the carriage before saluting to the magistrate who only nodded and said nothing.
"Lead the way." the county magistrate ordered as he spoke for the first time, one can see from his face that he seemed to look down on them. Xile frowned inexplicably but said nothing to retaliate such ordering tone, beside Yanzhi and Xiao Ling no one could order him. And since it was Yanzhi who said to bring them up, that was what he was to do, it didn’t matter.
"Please."
Turning from them he took the first step then the second and he walked in front and the magistrate and madam Huang along with the servant behind.
....
Master Zhang tried looking around as they climbed the steps, trying to figure out the terrain of the mountain and maybe... find out some secrets. But all he could see vividly was only the steps which he climbed on and the person leading them, but everything else was clouded by the fog, even tress could not be spotted at all.
When they climbed up from the last stairs and step foot into the TianXin sect, standing below the huge tall frame of ’TianXin Sect’ they felt pure energy surging into their bodies. They were overwhelmed and unable to react for a while, feeling the energy rushing in and passing through their meridians like cool currents and settling into their dantian. They felt abundant internal force strength accumulated in their dantian which they have never had accumulated in years of practice.
"Master Zhang!"
"Master Zhang!"
"Master Zhang!"
"Brother Yu!"
"Brother Cheng Lin!"
Lixin called out several times seeing them in daze, after calling for a while they still didn’t wake which made him annoyed. "Bumpkins!" he cursed in low tone.
Master Zhang, Yu, Cheng Lin: "..." You used to be more of a bumpkin than us!
Master Zhang slowly opened his eyes after settling the strong internal force strength in his dantian, he felt very refreshed than ever. He couldn’t help but be excited thinking that just coming up alone he was able to absorb abundant spiritual energy, then what if he was to live here. This place was bathed in spiritual energy and so pure as that, he couldn’t help but be green with greed. The two disciples also opened their eyes right after him.
"Let’s go if you’re done now!" a sharp voice spoke before they could even be lost in their excited moods. They turned to the voice to see Yue standing aside with an unhappy face. Master Zhang felt embarrassed as he thought about something.
"How long?" he asked after clearing his tone.
"Almost hour!" Yue answered as she felt angrier. "Don’t dwell around anymore and follow me, master has only given you an hour and after that he won’t wait for you anymore."
At times like this was when Yu would react and say unpleasant things, he had followed his master Zhang to ’TianXin Sect’ not out of goodwill but was planning on sabotage and make things difficult for them. But after what just happened he continued to be in a dumbfounded state and lost in admiring the school. Turning his head anticlockwise the scenery was beyond words and beyond his understanding.
"Sister Yue!" Cheng Lin who was no longer in daze called out happily, although he was also amazed by the scenes but the people here were the reason why he followed along, he could look around the sect later. The happy reunion he was expecting was not what he received when Yue corrected still annoyed. "Second Elder!"
"What?" Cheng Lin was confused.
"Second elder of ’TianXin Sect’, you address me as that."
"Aren’t you the first disciple of master Yan? If you’re rather the second elder, then who’s the first elder?"
Master Zhang cut in, he had wanted to inquire more about them. Although his school didn’t have elders and he was the only one, he knew what roles the elders play.
"You’ll see who the First Elder is in a while." Yue simply said and was unwilling to say anymore. So they stopped asking and followed her, their eyes trailing around from time to time looking more of ignorant bumpkins. It was not their fault because anyone who comes here for the first time would be just like them...or even worse, because the scenery of ’TianXin Sect’ was the only one in this time and space. No sect or martial arts school looked anything like ’TianXin Sect’
The hall they were taken to was with a wide opened space, chairs arranged vertically on left and right with an opening space in the center and between each chair were tables. Up ahead was a platform with a jade throne wide enough for two people, an equally wide jade table in front and on it was a beautiful jade tea set. Yanzhi dressed in white sat in the middle of the throne leaving space on his sides. Bee who was dressed in black robes embroidered with golden patterns, his hair tied into a short tight ponytail and two braids were done on both of the sides, on his left ear was a long feather earring which was the space given to him by Yanzhi, he was seated on the first chair on the right side and on the table beside him was a tea set and a plate of snacks.
Walking them to the foot of the stairway to the platform where Yanzhi sat, Yue cupped respectfully. "Master I have brought the guests." "En." Yanzhi hummed nonchalantly.
"Master Yan."
"Master Yan."
"Master Yan."
The three of master Zhang cupped to him. His gaze from above on them like an emperor looking at the ministers from his throne. "Take a seat." showing to them to the left at the arranged seats, he instructed.
Yue walked to Bee and took the seat after him, without saying anything Bee poured into the teacup tea and gently pushed it towards her with his finger.
"Thank you, elder brother." with a shy look she picked the teacup and sipped gently before placing it back onto the table, a bright smile forming on her tightly pursed lips. Right after the three of master Zhang sat down, Xiaomi and Lanfen dressed in the same colour-type of robes worn by Lixin, the only difference was that theirs didn’t have collars and there was a split at the back and no. 8 dressed in plain light lavender robes with split at the front revealing the pants under and white boots came in with tea sets for each of them. After arranging the tea sets the three quickly exited the hall.
"TianXin sect welcomes you." Yanzhi as the host greeted, his face expressionless.
"Thank you master Yan, your sect is truly magnificent. In all my years of being a martial artist this is my first time seeing a school this magnificent and rich in spiritual energy. I can even say there’s no place like TianXin sect!" master Zhang cupped and flatter.
"Thank you for your kind words. Truly, there’s no place like TianXin sect." Yanzhi was noncommittal. "What brings master Zhang to me?" he asked getting onto business, he had no intention to accompany master Zhang and listen to him flatter him. "Is it about the bet the third elder of my sect made with your disciples? If that is the reason then master Zhang needs not to bother with that, Lin was just messing around with the juniors when he had nothing to do, I asked him to make matters clear to you and I believe he did."
Master Zhang choke at his words and Cheng Lin broke out in cold sweat, he still remembered master Zhang punishing them heavily regarding that matter, and Yu remained to be in daze since earlier unable to break out and unable to believe his eyes.
"Master Yan is right, junior Lin.... I mean third elder Lin had discussed that with me...but that isn’t why I’m here. This time I came to master Yan because I hoped master Yan could help me." master Zhang didn’t beat around the bush anymore.
"Help?" Yanzhi raised his brows.
"Yes." master Zhang nodded affirmatively. He stole a glimpse at Bee and couldn’t help but swallowed. Since coming in they’ve felt it, the eerie strong spiritual energy from the man with very cold stoic face. Although his attention was never on them, but they still felt danger around him. "If....I ...may ask... who’s this master?" Master Zhang didn’t dare be disrespectful or show closeness, unlike master Yan who was equally a very powerful master to the man or maybe more, the spiritual energy around master Yan was always calm unlike this unknown master’s which was very sharp and repelling, master Zhang thought carefully.
"This is Jiang Han, First Elder of TianXin sect." Yanzhi introduced in a carefree manner. Instead Bee’s nickname which they usually called him with, he told Bee’s actual name.
"First Elder Jiang!"
"First Elder Jiang!
"First Elder Jiang!"
The three of master Zhang respectfully cupped.
"En." Bee hummed coldly and ignored them.
Master Zhang wanted to size him up, but didn’t dare do it. He could tell that Bee wasn’t friendly at all and unlike Yanzhi who always looked carefree, he was sure Bee would retaliate if he was provoked or bumped into.
"Is first elder also one of master Yan’s disciples?" master Zhang cautiously inquired. But who was Yanzhi, would he answer when people ask unrelated questions? The answer was naturally, no!
"What help does master Zhang needs from me?" ignoring the question he answered back with a question. It was regretful but master Zhang did not dare to do anything to offend them, he could only describe them all as mysterious!
"Right, master Yan I came here with business in mind." he stated his purpose.
Right there Chang walked in with madam Huang and the others just in time to here what master Zhang had said.
Haven’t been seeing the gifts of love, it saddens me 🥺🥺
