The still night outside Duke Li Guo’s Mansion was occasionally disturbed by the Imperial Guards pacing to and fro, moving from one door to another on patrol. Even though they knew it was virtually impossible for anyone to enter or exit, duty demanded they follow the rules.

It had been nearly twenty days since the Emperor had ordered the Mansion to be put under restriction, but strangely, he had not ordered any executions. This baffling decision slowly became clear to the court officials, who then strategically aligned themselves with factions that would benefit their own interests.

At the Western Corner Gate, just as the guards had passed, a giant white tiger descended from the heavens like a divine being, jumping over the gate and landing directly within the Mansion’s premises.

A young man leapt off the tiger’s back and softly said to the woman, "I’ll go find Grandfather, you go find Fei’er. Let’s meet back here in one hour."

Cai Wei nodded and hurriedly left.

Guided by Brother Ying, she smoothly located Fei’er’s Room, her heart pounding with worry. What if Fei’er were sleeping together with that person? What would she do then?

Luckily, Fei’er did not disappoint her. As she entered her room, Fei’er was quietly sleeping on the couch, alone.

"Older sister? How are you here? How did you get in?"

Cai Wei said, "Never mind how I came in. First tell me about yourself, why are you here? Who brought you here? What’s their purpose? Have you been bullied or mistreated?"

Fei’er quickly seized on the last question, shaking her head vigorously, "Sister, I’m fine, nobody has mistreated me, listen to me..."

Nangong Yi smiled warmly, "Grandfather, I owe you an apology here. Our Mansion being restricted is a trouble my mother and I brought upon you. But please rest assured, Grandfather, I will ensure our Mansion faces no danger."

"Danger, how could there be?"

The old master stroked his beard, shaking his head and laughing proudly, "Hehe, not just danger, it seems a tremendous happy event is about to descend on our Mansion soon!"
