After taking a shower, Gu Tingyun confidently went to Guibao’s room.

Even though it was a strange room and bed, the scent of Guibao was everywhere, so he had no difficulty at all lying down on the bed.

He closed his eyes but didn’t immediately fall asleep; he kept alert to the activity outside.

"Grandpa, I can’t get into the room again!" complained a little ghost voice from outside.

Gu Tingyun then closed his eyes and gradually drifted off to sleep, breathing slowly and deeply; he was sound asleep.

The next day, Gu Tingyun’s biological clock woke him up sharply at half past six in the morning.

He skipped his morning run and after freshening up, practiced a couple of martial arts routines in the courtyard.

Just before seven, Lu Xiaofen also woke up.

As she walked out of the room and saw Gu Tingyun in the courtyard, she asked him with a smile, "Tingyun, do you fancy having noodles for breakfast?"

Gu Tingyun naturally didn’t object.

Lu Xiaofen then went to the kitchen to make dough, roll out noodles, and prepare the noodles’ topping.

At half past seven, as Lu Xiaofen was about to cook the noodles, she shouted towards Gu Tingyun in the courtyard, "Tingyun, wake Guibao. It’s time for her to get cleaned up, have breakfast, and go to school. We can’t be late."

"Alright."

Gu Tingyun walked to Guibao’s room and seeing her sleeping soundly, he couldn’t help but smile.

"Guibao, it’s time to get up." He approached and whispered.

Helian Qiao opened her eyes in a daze, sat up on the bed, groggily asked, "Gu Tingyun, can you help me tie up my hair."

Little Princess usually wakes up as soon as she’s called if she’s had enough sleep. But she can be a little confused just after she wakes up.

However, when ordering people around, she is not confused at all.

Gu Tingyun was more than willing to be ordered around by her: "Okay, you first come down and put on your shoes."

He was going to tie Guibao’s hair, so he couldn’t help her put on her shoes.

After she put on her shoes, he led her to the dressing table and sat her down. He picked up the comb, took a gentle swipe through her hair, his fingers tenderly threading through her locks.

Helian Qiao immediately squinted her eyes in pleasure, thoroughly enjoying it.

Then with practiced ease, Gu Tingyun tied her hair into two ponytails.

"All done." He alerted her.

Now fully awake, Guibao sniffed the delicious aroma in the air and energetically dashed towards the kitchen, "Mom, what delicious food have you made? It smells so good!"

The two ponytails swayed with her movement, lively and playful.

From a glance, Lu Xiaofen knew it was Gu Tingyun who tied them. Guibao could only ever tie her hair into a single ponytail, by herself.

She did like to keep things simple!

With a pair of chopsticks in her hand, Lu Xiaofen didn’t stop stirring in the pot: "We’re having fried sauce noodles for breakfast. Guibao, go freshen up. The noodles will be ready soon!"

"I’m going right now!" Helian Qiao happily took her toothpaste and cup to brush her teeth by the sink.

Once the noodles were ready, Lu Xiaofen ladled them into three bowls to cool down.

By the time Guibao was ready to eat after freshening up, the noodle’s temperature was just right.

After breakfast, Gu Tingyun rode his bike to school with Guibao.
