Transmigration: Flirted with My Childhood Sweetheart
Chapter 537 - 536: The Eyes Behind the Newspaper

Chapter 537: Chapter 536: The Eyes Behind the Newspaper

The foreign buyers present, though ranked in different classes, how bad could they possibly be if they received an invitation to the Trade Fair?

These individuals at the scene, would be the first batch of overseas customers for "Lan" brand headdresses.

In addition, with Carl’s fall being a rare and amusing incident at such a serious and exhausting Spring Trade Fair, it was bound to be talked about for quite some time.

As for pointing a gun at foreign buyers...

Lin Nianhe had observed that no one at the scene had a camera.

No camera meant no pictures of the scene, which meant no evidence, which meant it never happened.

Lin Nianhe instantly forgot about the incident and strode back to the negotiation room with his hands in his pockets, amidst a crowd of awestruck onlookers.

Kapasa was still weighing the amount of goods, not even noticing that Lin Nianhe had left.

Lin Nianhe didn’t disturb him and continued drawing diagrams as if nothing had happened.

While their corner was peacefully uneventful, the outside world had turned chaotic.

The clever ones, right after the event, went straight to Lan County Textile Factory’s booth to express their intentions for cooperation.

The two North Americans who arrived later were now more humble; though they disliked each other, they did not dare to get angry at the people behind the booth. Their tone was sincere and their attitude respectful, fearing that they too might pull out a gun.

Wang Shumei had just returned, and seeing the two men before her, she summoned Niuwa to translate:

"We only have 350,000 headdresses left in stock, and the next batch won’t be available until the autumn trade fair. Since both of you arrived almost simultaneously, I can’t favor one over the other. It would be better if we all go to the negotiation room together and you two can discuss how to divide the quantities."

Upon hearing this, both men wanted to get rid of the other and monopolize the 350,000 pieces.

Physical confrontation was out of question, so they glared at each other all the way following Wang Shumei back to the negotiation room.

They had left, but the booth was still bustling.

What was originally the most secluded booth was now surrounded by crowds. Niuwa stood on a stool, repeating "No quotas left," until his voice was almost hoarse.

Wen Lan watched from behind for a while, then got up, found some paper and a pen for Niuwa: "Here, write ’out of stock’ on this, to save you having to repeat it over and over."

Niuwa’s eyes lit up, he took the pen, wrote that the goods were sold out, and Wen Lan walked around the queue with the sign, informed the queued people, then posted the sign on the booth, finally relieving Niuwa.

Even so, there were still those who wouldn’t give up, trying every tactic at the booth, refusing to leave.

Wen Lan simply brought a chair to sit behind the table. When someone arrived, she pointed at the sign and if they didn’t leave, she gave them a "do you need a beating?" look for them to take the hint...

The effect was surprisingly good.

Niuwa took a couple of sips of soda, then seeing Wong Xiao staring blankly behind a newspaper, couldn’t help but ask: "Uncle Wong, what’s wrong?"

Wong Xiao’s lips trembled twice, and when he turned to look at Niuwa, his neck made a series of cringe-worthy cracking sounds.

His pupils were slightly dilated, looking in Niuwa’s direction he asked: "Niuwa, today is the first day of the Spring Trade Fair, right?"

Niuwa nodded: "Yes."

"Then have all our goods been sold out?"

Niuwa pondered for a moment, cautiously replying: "Not necessarily, Sister Shumei and those two guys might not come to an agreement."

"Kid, you’re smart, can you calculate how much we might earn this time?"

"Uncle, I really can’t figure this one out."

"Then how much stock do you think we should prepare for the autumn trade fair?"

"Why don’t you wait for Sister Hehe to come back and ask her?"

"When exactly is Sister Hehe coming back then?"

"..."

Wong Xiao couldn’t sit still anymore. He dipped his finger in some tea water, poked a small hole in the newspaper blocking his face, closed one eye, and peered out looking for Lin Nianhe’s figure.

He slowly turned his head, and suddenly all he saw was darkness. On the other side of the newspaper, there was another eye.

"Oh my goodness!"

Wong Xiao got startled and slapped the newspaper onto the other person’s face.

Minister Huang was hit square in the face and was also startled: "Old Woo! What are you doing?"

Wong Xiao, sweating coldly, wiped his face and, recognizing it was Minister Huang in front of him, relaxed a bit: "Leader, why didn’t you say something before coming over?"

"The folks are already wielding their guns, how could I not come over?"

Minister Huang laughed heartily, sat down on an empty chair, pointed at the paper on the display booth with bright eyes, and asked: "Are they all sold out?"

Hearing Minister Huang mentioning Lin Nianhe and the gun affair, Wong Xiao hurriedly said: "Leader, I saw it clearly, Xiao Lin just scared that foreign penny pincher, didn’t actually hurt him. That doesn’t count as a mistake, right?"

"Principally, that’s definitely not okay," Minister Huang waved his hand, "but no harm done. Every year people tell me how Carl is getting too probing in deals and these folks have eyes in the top of their heads; it’s good to knock some sense into them."

Wong Xiao let out a sigh of relief, his hanging heart finally set down.

He then remembered to answer Minister Huang’s question, straightening his back unconsciously. He cheerfully poured some tea for Minister Huang and said: "Just now, two foreign merchants came to buy goods. Comrade Xiao Wang took them to the negotiation room. I don’t know if it will work out, but we only have a quota of 350,000 Head Flowers left, can’t risk over-selling, so we hung up a sign."

Minister Huang listened and nodded repeatedly, blowing on the electric fan and sipping tea, he smiled: "You’re taking it pretty easy."

Clearly, Minister Huang was waiting for Lin Nianhe; he did not leave, and Wong Xiao, without hurrying him, chatted idly about random topics.

After more than half an hour, Niuwa said: "Uncle Huang, Uncle Wong, Sister Hehe is back!"

Minister Huang immediately turned his head, and Wong Xiao also looked towards the door with eyes shining.

They saw Lin Nianhe walking leisurely with a bearded foreign businessman; the two seemed very familiar, chatting as they walked.

Wong Xiao was a bit puzzled, muttering to himself: "Why is she bringing back another one? What if we run out of products..."

Wong Xiao was a bit worried, afraid that Lin Nianhe didn’t know Wang Shumei had already taken someone to the negotiation room, but remembering to maintain decorum, he said to Niuwa: "Niuwa, later you tell Xiao Lin about Xiao Wang taking people to negotiate."

Niuwa nodded: "Okay."

Right as Lin Nianhe walked up, Niuwa greeted her with an especially bright smile: "Sister Hehe, you’re back! Sister Shumei has been at the negotiations for so long, I started to find it quite boring!"

Lin Nianhe got his point, smiled, and ruffled his hair saying: "I just came out of the negotiation room too." Then she turned to Minister Huang and Wong Xiao, "Uncle Huang, Uncle Wong, this Mr. Rossi here is our new business partner. He really likes Huaxia culture, can speak some Chinese, and he just saved my life too!"

This statement had an evident reminding intention, and Minister Huang and Wong Xiao instantly understood.

They looked at Lin Nianhe and then at Niuwa.

Tsk, they truly are master and student.
