Chapter 654: Chapter 323 Considerate_3
Qian Yixiu nodded and placed the Dragon Ball into her purse, alongside another large, pale blue Pearl, then tucked the purse into her bosom. She put another purse, filled with smaller pearls, into her backpack.
Liang Jinzhao’s eyes were filled with admiration as he said, "Yixiu, when your family was so poor, you were not greedy and did not take the Dragon Ball to the secular world to exchange it for money. Otherwise, the world would have been thrown into chaos."
Qian Yixiu smiled and said, "Such a treasure is too precious, and I knew my family couldn’t protect it, so I dared not take it out. I only took some pearls of average quality, along with tea leaves, lotus seeds, and peach branches."
Liang Jinzhao nodded, thinking to himself that it was no wonder the Golden Lady Mot tea, the golden lotus root, and the Golden honey peach were so exceptional, as they all originated from this place.
After seeing Qian Yixiu secure the Zi Zhu, the two of them lay down against the peach tree and fell asleep, reassured. Exhausted, Shan Dian and Yin Feng had already lain down on the ground and fallen asleep, while only Monkey Brother continued to play in the pond.
Qian Yixiu couldn’t sleep. She took out red dates, gouji berries, brown sugar, and ginger and started to brew them in a small pot, thinking to herself that she must ask Doctor Zhang for some effective gynecological medicine as soon as she got back, not wishing to lose the ability to be a mother.
She sat beside the fire, holding the little squirrel, and kept adding dry sticks to the fire, listening to the occasional "crackle" coming from it.
Once the ginger sugar water was ready, she poured it into a bowl and drank it while it was hot. She drank two bowls in one go, broke into a sweat, and felt much better, her limbs not as stiff as before.
There was still some water left in the bowl, and the little squirrel drank from it, only to feel the sting of the spiciness and immediately lift its head, sticking out its tongue and gasping.
Qian Yixiu laughed and said, "This is ginger sugar water; it’s a bit spicy." Then she reached into her bosom and stuffed a piece of sugar into its mouth.
The sugar was sweet, causing the little squirrel to squint its eyes and twitch its mouth and nose. Qian Yixiu, feeling a great affection, hugged and kissed it again. Sighing, she said, "Little squirrel, this might be our last time seeing each other. I really can’t bear to part with you."
Finally having had enough fun in the water, Monkey Brother climbed ashore and came to Qian Yixiu. He fetched several pearls from his waist pouch and handed them to her.
Qian Yixiu accepted the pearls, surprised to find as many as six, two of which were much larger than broad beans, while the other four were somewhat bigger, all round and shiny. She wondered how many old clams he had to feel to find these.
Qian Yixiu smiled and said, "Thank you, Monkey Brother. You’ve gotten even better, these pearls are all so big."
After securing the pearls, she felt extremely tired, took a small cotton-padded jacket from her backpack, sat on the blanket, and covered herself with the jacket and fell asleep.
When she woke up, she was greeted by a pair of eyes as big as soybeans, and the bright sun was already climbing towards its zenith. She picked up the little squirrel and kissed it, then pulled out a pocket watch to check the time – it was already half-past nine. It was so late that she definitely couldn’t make it back today.
She stood up, feeling sore all over. Looking around, she saw Master Wuming picking tea leaves at the far end, near the tea bushes, but there was no sign of Uncle Liang, nor of Monkey Brother, Shan Dian, or Yin Feng.
The fire was still burning, with a small pot hanging over it, containing a mix of red dates, gouji berries, brown sugar, and ginger, bubbling away. Qian Yixiu grinned to herself, thinking that Uncle Liang couldn’t possibly also know the benefits of this drink for women, could he?
She took out a flatbread, soaked it in the ginger sugar water, and ate it up. Then she limped over to Master Wuming and asked, "Master Wuming, picking tea leaves, where are General Liang and Monkey Brother and the others?"
Master Wuming replied, "Hmm, the Old Monk has instructed this Poor Monk to collect as much tea as possible, the more the better." He then pointed towards the mountain on the left and continued, "Master Liang has taken Shan Dian and Yin Feng up to the mountain to practice Astrono Skills. None of us are in good physical condition today, and it’s not suitable to leave the mountain. Master Liang has gone to observe the weather of the coming days, to see when it might be suitable to leave. As for Monkey Brother, I have no idea where it went; I haven’t seen it since I woke up." He then went back to busily picking tea leaves.
Qian Yixiu wasn’t worried about Monkey Brother, knowing the monkey couldn’t stay idle.
Seeing Master Wuming so engrossed in picking tea, she quickly returned to the pondside, bent down, and started collecting pearls and lotus seeds.
The Old Monk had said that this place existed solely for the Pass Dragon Bead, and once its mission was fulfilled, it would return to where it should go. Therefore, she knew that she would likely never come back here again.
