Chapter 290: Chapter 289: Preparing for a pool party

The day after Treyton and the others left for another mission, the weather suddenly turned into extreme summer again.

Even though he just woke up, he could still feel the heat. They already turned on their AC, but Luciel could still feel the high temperature.

So just after he finished eating his breakfast, he already started eating an ice cream.

"Ashlee, go and call the others here."

He didn’t take his phone with him, so he couldn’t call the others in the living room.

When Treyton returned, they went to get the phones prepared by them by the research center so they already had a basic phone that they could use for calls.

However, it was just a simple one for calls and messages, so Luciel didn’t care about it and just left it in their room.

He was still in the base, so he didn’t think that he had any need for it when he was only staying in the villa.

He was also mostly in their room, so he just left it there so that if someone really calls, then it could still be received because there’s no signal in their space.

So he could only ask Ashlee to find someone because she and the other kids were the only ones who were in the living room.

"Should I call all of them?" Ashlee asked obediently.

"No, just look for one and tell them to call all the others to gather here."

Ashlee nodded and obediently went to look for someone.

After a while, Ashlee came back with Richard.

"Did you already call the others?" Luciel asked when he saw Richard.

"Yes, I already called them. Most of them were training at the third villa, so they should be here soon," Richard replied. Then, with a curious look, he asked, "So, why did you call us?"

They’re really diligent; it’s still their day off, but they’re already training themselves just like always.

"I’ll tell you after the others arrive," Luciel said and just continued eating his ice cream.

"What’s up, Luciel? Why did you call us?" Nathan asked as soon as he entered the door.

Luciel didn’t answer right away. He simply waited until everyone had entered the living room. Once they were all seated and looking at him expectantly, he smiled and said,

"Guys, let’s have a pool party."

The first thing he thought of after seeing the weather was to cool off and enjoy his time, so he immediately thought of having a pool party.

"What?!" chorus of voices rang out in disbelief, with Camille and Nathan being the loudest among them.

Luciel chuckled at their reactions. "It’s scorching hot today, and you’re all on your day off. So why not take the chance to relax? Just enjoy the day for once," he said casually, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

After a brief moment of stunned silence, Nathan suddenly laughed out loud.

"Hahaha! A pool party at times like this? I like that!" he said, grinning wide as he threw an arm over the back of the couch.

"I know, you’ll like it. We have been busy for the past months, so it’s just right to have a proper day to relax and have some fun."

"Luciel, you’re really something, you know that?" Nathan said with praise.

"Wow, unbelievable. Who thinks of a pool party during an apocalypse?" Camille said with surprise.

"Someone who refuses to be stressed 24/7," Luciel replied with a shrug. "What’s the point of surviving if we don’t enjoy life a little?"

"You’re indeed right," Camille said while nodding.

"There are no objections, right? Then, you guys should go and start preparing for our small party," Luciel said as he looked at the others in the living room.

The other team members didn’t raise any objections and simply agreed with him.

Actually, if they don’t agree, Luciel could still order them to prepare it. Treyton had already explained to everyone that he has the highest power after him.

That’s why, as soon as he called everyone to come, all of them obediently came to the living room without any delay.

So, as long as he didn’t order anything harmful for the people on the team, they still had to follow his order.

But the purpose of having a pool party is to enjoy and relax, so he still asked if they had any objections. It wouldn’t be fun if others were just forced because it was his order.

Luciel could clearly see that they truly had no objections—and some even had obvious looks of anticipation on their faces.

"I have no objections. But what about Treyton and others who aren’t here?" Yang asked.

"Why worry about them? We can just have another party once they’re back. It’s not like we can only have a pool party once."

"Ok, then, I’ll lead the preparations for the party," Yang said calmly.

"Nice!" Luciel said with a smile.

"You guys can start preparing so that we can start soon. Don’t worry about the shade; I can just enlarge the trees outside to give better cover. As for the rest, you guys can start preparing them."

Jane was the one left in the team who had plant powers aside from him, and it would still be too taxing for her to control the growth of several trees.

So, it’s better for him to do it because he could do it in just a few minutes. Jane could just focus on the other plants in the garden.

After Luciel finished what he said, he just sat on the sofa and let Yang lead the planning for their pool party.

"We all agreed to have a pool party, so we should prepare for it immediately. There are 2 wide pools in the back garden.

I and Astrid will handle the water for the pools. But before we put water in them, the pools should be cleaned.

Nina and Richard will focus on cooking so they won’t be able to help in any cleaning and setting up of the party. So, who will do the cleaning?"

"I can do it," Mia volunteered.

Most of the other members of the team also said that they could do the cleaning.

"There’s no need for too many people to be assigned to cleaning. Okay, I’ll list all the tasks we need to do, and you guys can choose what you want to handle..."

After discussing for a while, Yang said, "Alright, just to confirm, I’ll read out everyone’s assignments again:

Astrid and I will be in charge of filling the pools.

Mia and Camille will oversee the overall design of the party, with help from Conner, Billy, and Raffy.

Nathan and Azim will organize the party activities.

Jane will take care of the plants in the back garden and grow any fruits and vegetables we will need.

Aldo will handle music and other entertainment essentials.

Bella, Violet, Jacob, and Derek will help in the kitchen with food and drink preparation.

Zam will be responsible for placing large ice blocks in the back garden.

Bryan, Grant, and Noah will take care of cleaning.

That’s our initial setup. If you finish early or don’t have a task at the moment, feel free to help others with theirs. There are no omissions, right?"

Before the others could respond to Yang’s question, Sophie spoke first.

"I, I also want to do something! My name is not called!"

All of them chuckled when they heard what Sophie said.

"No need. We and the others could do those tasks immediately. You and the other kids just need to finish your assignments immediately because you can’t do them later," Jane said.

"Why can’t we do it later?"

"We are going to swim and play at the pools later. So, you kids won’t have time to do your assignments," Jane explained with a smile.

"Swimming? Are we going to play in a lot of water?" Sophie asked again.

"Yes, so you need to finish your assignments so that you can play later."

"Wow! We are going to play with water. I’ll do mine now," Sophie said and started looking for her paper.

All the kids had assignments every day depending on what they learned from Bella and Violet.

So, the other kids who also learned that they could play and swim also started looking for their papers to finish what they had to do.

After the short interruption of Sophie, they confirmed that there’s no omission in their plan, and all of them immediately got busy.

Luciel also went to the back garden first and let the trees grow to an appropriate size so that they could properly shade the back garden where the pools are.

Afterward, he didn’t do anything else and just let the others do the preparations.

He just sat on the sofa and started playing games while occasionally listening to what the others were talking about regarding their arrangements for the party.
