Chapter 289: Chapter 288: Other ability users in the base 2
There were also many teams in the North Base, and the military was present as well, so Luciel knew they couldn’t be too greedy—they could just aim to recruit those two individuals with unique abilities.
Aside from those with unique powers, there were also many individuals with more common abilities who still stood out because of their exceptional performance.
It was made clearer from their demonstrations that even if many people had the same type of ability, the strength and control of those abilities varied from person to person.
After the demonstration and division of people into different groups, they began explaining the methods on how to strengthen their superpowers.
When they began meditating to feel the energy in the surroundings, Luciel didn’t pay much attention to them any longer.
Luciel was already satisfied after seeing them display their abilities, so he decided to go back to their villa because he knew that it would just take a long time for them to meditate.
He went back and left the others who were still interested in watching the performance of other ability users in the base.

After going out to watch the performance of those people with abilities, Luciel didn’t go out again, and after two days, Treyton and the others returned to the base.
When Treyton returned, Myla and the others reported what they had watched about the ability users in the base.
They had gathered information about all those that had shown good performance in the training that they had watched.
When they reported, they gave Treyton a stack of papers, and when Luciel looked at it a bit, he saw that they were all information about different people.
It seemed that they had listed all those who looked useful and investigated them a bit.
It’s obvious that the investigation isn’t entirely for recruitment of talented people, but it was more of an investigation to take note of the abilities of other teams.
Well, knowing more information about other people would probably be useful for them later if they ever wanted to cooperate with other teams.
As Treyton read them, Luciel also saw that the information about the people with special abilities had more details compared to other ability users.
It was obvious that they had paid more attention to those people with rare abilities.
They also marked the profiles of the two ability users that Luciel wanted to recruit, and their profiles also have more details compared to the others.
There are also other marked profiles, but there are two marks in the profiles of the two ability users, which means that aside from the suggestion of Myla and the others, Luciel also wanted to recruit them.
"Why do you want these two?" Treyton asked.
"Nothing much. They’re just more useful than the others," Luciel answered lazily while still leaning on Treyton.
"I see," Treyton said. He then looked at Zam and Yang and added, "You guys should focus on observing those two individuals. As for the others who were also marked, continue keeping an eye on them. After I return from the next mission, I’ll decide whether they can join the team."
"Ok. But are you sure we should include him?" Yang said while looking at Lex’s profile.
Yes, among the marked profiles of people with rare abilities, Lex, who was Treyton’s previous lover, was also marked.
His profile was also marked because he indeed has a nice ability. Lex had an ability to create a barrier.
In the demonstration, he was able to create a barrier of 2.5 square meters for 2 minutes.
Even though the duration was short and the size wasn’t that big, it was still a nice ability that could be used for emergencies because it wouldn’t break easily even if it was attacked with a powerful ability.
So it was also marked by the others because such an ability would be useful when they’re going out.
However, it was an ability like a mutation of those with space powers, so it would probably take a long time to upgrade it, just like Theo’s space.
Theo’s space hadn’t grown much, even though it had already been a few months since they met him.
According to Theo, the growth of his power seemed to increase only by inches—or even just centimeters—over a long period, making the progress barely noticeable despite him having absorbed a lot of zombie crystals.
So after a few months, Theo’s space had only widened by only one foot.
Lex’s ability was likely the same, but his ability would still be useful as long as it could be used properly.
"He and his sister didn’t cause any trouble for us after the contract, right?" Treyton asked.
"Yes, after your contract with him, Lex and Vivi didn’t cause any trouble, and they just focused on their business," Yang said.
"Then there’s no problem. His sister is also very capable with her wind ability, so even if they’re both recruited, it shouldn’t be an issue," Treyton said.
Yang looked at Treyton, then at Luciel, and back at Treyton again before saying, "Are you really sure?"
"Do you have problems with it?" Treyton asked him.
"You can recruit whoever you want. As long as they don’t cause trouble for me, everything is fine."
Luciel understood why Yang looked at him but just like Treyton he really didn’t mind recruiting Lex and Vivi as long as they don’t cause any trouble for him because their abilities are useful.
After Yang heard what they said he didn’t ask any further questions and just accepted the files of the people that they had to watch further. fre ewebno(v)e\l.(c)om
They talked more for a bit before the others went to do their own things.
Treyton was also busy so he also left after a while, while Luciel stayed on the sofa to continue playing.
Treyton had only one rest day before going out for another mission so after he finished all the things that needed his attention and afterwards he just stayed with Luciel for the rest of the day.
Of course, they didn’t spend their time in their room but spent their time in their space because the time wasn’t enough for them, who hadn’t been with each other for a few days.
Both of them also knew that Treyton would be gone for a few days again, so they indulged themselves for the rest of the time.
In the end, because of their indulgence, even though Luciel was aware when Treyton got out of their room, Luciel didn’t bother waking up and just continued sleeping.
When he woke up, it was already near lunch, so he didn’t bother eating breakfast and just waited for the lunch that Richard was preparing.
He just had hot chocolate first in the living room.
"Brother, this is for you!" Sophie said excitedly as she handed him a necklace just after he sat down on the sofa.
"Oh, you finally made something better than the previous necklaces. Good job!" Luciel praised, smiling at her.
Over the past few days, the kids had been slowly making necklaces, but none of them had given him anything yet.
He had told them before to only give him something once they made something good, so they all decided to wait until they had made the best one.
"Yes, this is the very best one!" Sophie said happily.
Ashlee also came over and said with a smile, "Big brother, this is the best bracelet that I made."
"It looks good! You used a nice color combination in this."
After Ashlee, Theo, Nash, and Lisa also came over and gave him the bracelets that they made.
The bracelets they made were also very good-looking, so Luciel also praised them well.
"All the things you kids made were great, so I’ll give each of you two boxes of chocolates," Luciel said.
"Yay! Chocolates! Can I eat all of it?" Sophie asked excitedly.
"Yes, they’re all yours," Luciel replied with a smile. "You can eat as much as you want as long as the people who don’t want you eating too much don’t catch you."
Chocolates weren’t rare for the kids, but Jane, Yang, and the others were controlling how much to give to the kids as their snacks, and they couldn’t have a lot.
So, Sophie was very excited because she would receive something that she could hide and eat more of if she wanted.
"Big brother, you are very nice!"
"I’ll give each of you two boxes," Luciel said calmly. "You can hide them if you want—they’re yours after all.
But you should know not to eat too much in one day. It’s okay to have more; just don’t finish it all at once.
If you get sick because of it, your guardians will find out, and then they won’t give you chocolates anymore.
And of course, I won’t give you anything in the future either."
The others weren’t as enthusiastic as Sophie, but it was obvious that they also wanted to receive those chocolates, so they all agreed that they wouldn’t eat that much at once.
After receiving their promise, Luciel asked Theo to bring out some boxes of chocolates in his space.
Theo still had a lot of his snacks in his space, so he just asked him to bring some out and let the kids choose two boxes of chocolates they wanted.
