Transmigrated as the Crown Prince's Mate
Chapter 29: The Full Moon...

Chapter 29: The Full Moon...

Evelina lay rigid in bed, staring blankly at the wall opposite her while Damian shifted slightly beside her. The silence between them was anything but comfortable, each rustle of the sheets, each small movement, only amplified the electric tension that lingered in the air.

Relia’s voice, usually brash and sarcastic, now sounded almost smug as it echoed in Evelina’s mind. "Feeling warm yet?"

Evelina gritted her teeth. Quiet, Relia.

"Don’t blame me. Look outside—full moon. It’s not my fault you decided to bunk with your mate on a night like this."

Eve’s gaze darted to the window, where moonlight spilled in, bathing the room in a soft, silvery glow. A ripple of unease coursed through her.

From Evelina’s memories, she knew about the effects of a full moon on wolves, but nothing had prepared her for the sudden heat blooming low in her abdomen.

Beside her, Damian shifted again, letting out a low, frustrated sigh.

In his mind, Storm growled impatiently. "What are you doing? Our mate is here, and you’re just lying there?"

I’m trying to keep control, Damian snapped, clenching his fists under the blanket. The scent of Evelina—lavender mixed with something uniquely hers—was already playing havoc with his senses. The full moon wasn’t helping.

"Control? You mean denial." Storm’s growl turned almost mocking. "You’re fighting what’s natural. Let me take over."

No, Damian shot back, though his resolve wavered as Evelina’s scent grew stronger, more enticing. The bond was pulsing between them like a live wire, and every inch of his body screamed to close the distance, to claim what was his.

"Are you okay over there?" Evelina’s voice broke through the haze, startling him slightly.

"Fine," Damian replied tersely, though the edge in his voice betrayed him.

Storm huffed. "Liar. You’re not fine. You’re a mess. Let me fix it."

I said no, Damian growled internally, his jaw tightening as he forced himself to stay still.

But even he couldn’t ignore the way his wolf was clawing at his restraint, demanding he acknowledge the undeniable pull toward Evelina.

Meanwhile, Evelina was having her own battle with Relia, who hummed smugly in her mind. "He’s feeling it too, you know. Poor guy’s trying to keep it together. Bet you he won’t last."

Relia! Evelina hissed internally, heat flooding her cheeks. But her wolf wasn’t wrong. She could feel the tension radiating from Damian, his restraint stretched thin.

Damian cleared his throat. "Did it just get warmer in here?"

Evelina nearly laughed, though the sound came out shaky. "Must be the full moon," she said dryly, though her own body betrayed her with the heat pooling in between her legs. She had to shut her legs tight in an attempt to stay in control.

Damian chuckled softly, but the sound was rough, as if dragged from him against his will. "Right. The moon."

Storm pushed harder, his voice a low snarl in Damian’s mind. "You’re torturing yourself. Just look at her. She’s ours."

Stop it, Damian snapped, though his gaze did drift to Evelina’s back, the moonlight casting a soft glow over her figure beneath the thin sheet. A pang of longing surged through him, sharp and insistent.

Storm growled again. "You can’t fight forever. She’s right there. Waiting."

She’s not waiting, Damian argued, though the thought of Evelina turning to face him, her lips parting as she whispered his name, sent a surge of heat through his veins. He groaned softly, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Evelina stiffened at the sound. "You okay?" she asked again, though her own voice was strained.

"Fine," Damian repeated, though his fists clenched tighter as he fought the wave of desire threatening to consume him.

Relia snickered in Evelina’s mind. "He’s breaking. Told you." SHe went silent for a few seconds before speaking again. "You know what? Let me help you."

"Don’t do anything funny, Relia."

A soft, floral scent suddenly filled the room, sweet and alluring. Evelina froze as she realized it was coming from her. "Relia," she whispered under her breath, panic lacing her tone. "Aurelia! What the fuck are you doing?

"Helping," her wolf replied smugly. "You’re welcome."

The scent soon filled the space between them, making Damian tense. They weren’t just affecting Damian—they were driving him to the edge.

His breathing became uneven, and when Evelina glanced at him from the corner of her eye, she saw his jaw clenched tight, his fists gripping the sheets as though to anchor himself.

"Evelina," Damian said suddenly, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down her spine. "Stop whatever it is you’re doing."

"I’m not doing anything!" she shot back, though her own body betrayed her. The heat in her core was building, spreading through her like a slow, tantalizing fire, making her wet.

Damian groaned softly. "Your wolf," he muttered. "She’s releasing pheromones."

Evelina froze, her embarrassment giving way to frustration. "I didn’t ask her to!"

"Tell her to stop," Damian ground out, his silver eyes flashing as he finally turned to face her.

"You think I haven’t tried?" Evelina snapped, though her resolve faltered under his intense gaze. The moonlight illuminated his chiseled features, and for a moment, all she could think about was how close they were—too close.

The tension between them was unbearable. Evelina could feel the bond pulling them together, an invisible thread drawing them closer with every passing second. It was primal, magnetic, and entirely out of her control.

"Evelina," Damian commanded in a low tone. "Look at me."

Reluctantly, she turned her head, meeting his gaze. His silver eyes burned with a mixture of frustration, longing, and something deeper—something she didn’t dare name.

"Tell me you’re not feeling this." His voice was a husky whisper.

Evelina swallowed hard, her heart pounding. "I... I don’t know what you’re talking about," she lied, though her voice trembled.

Damian’s eyes narrowed, a dangerous smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Liar."

Before she could retort, his hand brushed against hers beneath the covers—a light, accidental touch that sent a jolt of electricity through her. She gasped softly, her body betraying her as the heat between her legs intensified.

Damian froze, his breath hitching.

"Take her," Storm growled. "You know she wants this as much as you do."

She deserves better than that, Damian argued, though his restraint was fraying. The scent of her, the warmth of her body so close to his, was driving him to the brink.

For a long moment, neither of them moved, the silence stretching between them.

"Evelina," Damian finally broke the silence. "If you don’t want this to go any further, you need to say something. Now."
