Chapter 94: The new guild members
"It’s been a day and I still can’t forget her... damn she was something alright." Izzy praised the association president again, and she was just getting out of the bed.
"You have been saying that an awful lot of times, dear. Could it be that you fell for her charm with just that much?" He teased with a smirk on his face, handing her a large shirt.
It was a fine morning today, and they were just starting their day now.
"Ah, no way. It needs to be a lot more than just charms to fall for someone, you know?" She smirked back at him, teasing him with that smile of hers.
He wanted to roll his eyes at her, but instead just smiled and shook his head at that good flirting attempt.
"I would know the best, don’t you think?" He answered her with a wink, making her shake her head with a little chuckle.
They may have started on pretty bad terms but they found each other comforting. Being in their company was like being in the eternal land of peace for them.
It wasn’t about the looks, it wasn’t about the background or skills. They met by chance and they fell slowly, quietly, and permanently.
If it were just the looks, he knew they wouldn’t have been like this right now.
"Anyways, mister lover. We have a big day ahead of us." With the large shirt now covering her, she walked up to him and dragged him out of the bed with a kiss.
He loved it when she was being forward, so he did not hold back. Returning the favors and affection was the basics, as he often says.
"The big day is for the guildmaster, not the person in charge of recruiting. You will be doing more work ultimately, Miss guildmaster." With a smooch, the two of them walked up to the washroom to start off their day.
Today, they were going to hold the recruitment drive for the players that were chosen by the agency they had contracted with as well as people that had come after seeing the advertisements.
There were a lot of people who wanted to join the Trailblaze. They also needed to meet Lia and her party members online to finalize the contracts.
They were going to move here as they had all agreed, so they needed to go through various immigration processes in their nations as well.
Which was going to take some time so the paperwork was the first thing they needed to look after for the time being.
"Don’t keep reminding me I’m the guildmaster, Kai... man I don’t want to work. It’s so boring being the guildmaster..."
She may be smart and strong, but she was just as lazy as him. She was the best for the role but she didn’t want to do everything by herself.
That was also the reason they needed to do the recruitment today.
"Don’t worry, we should find you a capable vice guildmaster today. Hopefully we will find someone you can dump all your work on, hehe."
He shouldn’t say it like this, but she liked hearing this.
If she was free from the paperwork and the technical things, she would be able to move freely and raid dungeons.
She wanted to go to the tower more even though she was a guildmaster so she would do that with a good team.
On that note, she needed to find a good team for the tower. The third floor wasn’t going to be an easy one for individuals unless they were Strong.
A party was advised, and she was going to look for that party today.
"Haaa... please don’t be harsh with the recruitment. We have good enough funds and resources for now and we will get some from the association for now as well."
"But we have to start the business, Izzy. We can’t just get anyone, you know? They need to be at least good enough for a year long slavery– I mean work contract."
He was going to select the most efficient ones, the ones that actually needed work, the ones who would sign any kind of contract without going into details, and he was going to get them into the guild with the best conditions anyone in the field was offering– not that anyone was offering much to the lifestyle players anyway.
"Oy. We are going to bring in people that would be family. Not slaves, ok? You keep your schemes away from my guild." She wasn’t happy with how he was considering using the guild members for his own things.
"First of all, it’s Our guild. Second of all, you know I’m nice, right~? You know I wouldn’t extort my own worker, right~?"
Those devilish words would sound believable if one didn’t know this Special Human Being enough.
But she knew him damn well, in and out.
"You do anything crazy to them and you’re dealing with me, remember that." She clearly warned him. She knew giving him any chance to play with Her guild members would mean disaster.
She did not want that.
She wanted her guild members to be happy, to give them a comforting life in this damned world.
She wanted them to live for the guild, not suffer with the belief that their guild was the best and what they were doing was much better than what they could be doing somewhere else.
"I know what you want, Izzy." Hugging her from behind, he whispered in her ears.
"I know what you need as well, so just trust me, alright? You can read the contracts before them if you’re that worried."
He was the devil with an angel’s wings. Perhaps that was the reason Lust was so interested in him.
"You know I’m nice, right? I would never want to harm the guild or you, in any manner." That bit was true.
But then again, he wasn’t exactly one to use common methods to achieve his goals. If he wants someone, he will recruit them and if he needs someone, he will do everything he can to get them on his side.
He would go to extreme lengths for what he actually wanted.
And she knew what he could do when he was desperate so... she knew he wouldn’t do something too crazy just yet.
This was just the recruitment process.
There shouldn’t be any problems leaving it to him, she believed.
