Chapter 93: Mourning

She had unique blue hair that strangely seemed natural even in this holographic form. She wasn’t actually using any holographic technology but was projecting herself through a very high level magic ’spell’ throughout the world.

KiRA could tell with his {Mana sensitivity} that this wasn’t the result of a skill but actual magic, something most of the players had not learned yet.

Aside from instinctive use of Magic and some self realised tricks, the players did not know what magic was. But not this person... She knew what magic was and what spells were, and she was using it very proficiently right now.

{ "It was an unfortunate incident, a cruel display of what the tower is capable of." }

KiRA did not know who this person was or how she became an original owner of a pinnacle skill despite being a human.

She didn’t seem to be from the tower but he couldn’t be sure of that.

He had his questions, but more than these questions, there was something else he wanted to know.

[{ "Unity? Can you sense it?" }]

It was difficult but even if someone was using a high level projection spell, it shouldn’t be impossible to sense the ’Divinity’ they possessed.

And being an original owner meant one possessed divinity, even if fragmented.

[{ No, master... I can’t sense any from her. Could it be that we’re wrong? It could be some other kind of power instead of the pinnacle skill. }]

All beings who possessed the pinnacle skill even the Inheritors and the Successors possessed divinity.

The skills themselves granted a kind of Authority to a being that went beyond the limits of a mortal, granting them an automatic access to the divine aspect.

But something like that wasn’t present here.

The association president, Miss Lucy, didn’t seem to possess the Divinity that all the higher beings were defined by.

[{ "It could be possible. But then again, she would be an Anomaly like you." }]

Unity was severely restricted, so much so that the system had to restrict most of her higher-level stats completely.

She was severely weakened as well and she had to be cursed in order to maintain the balance.

But even after all this, Unity was the only entity in the entire tower that could access aspects of the system that would otherwise be locked for the others.

She was also the only entity that could deny the system’s authorities with her unique authority.

In the entirety of the tower, even the beings of her own kind weren’t as unique as she was. That was the sole reason she was sealed away when she was very young.

’If not for fate, we wouldn’t have met and she would still be unaware of who she was, what she could do, and how important she would become in the future.’

She was one of a kind, that was also the reason he was stunned to have her from the game. He knew for a fact that another one like her didn’t exist in this tower, that would be against the Laws.

But... the possibility that there were unique Anomalies like her around the world, if not here then inside the tower, was certainly there.

{ "The Association has failed to live up to the expectations of the public and we will accept that without any excuses. We failed. However, that will not happen again." }

Her voice contained a kind of wisdom that KiRA had felt from the Tower master alone. Her natural Aura was so commanding that he was reminded of the Empress.

She was a unique being by the looks and presence, but her voice contained a kind of authority that everyone who heard it somehow believed her, including KiRA.

{ "We were not prepared enough and a tragedy took place. We gave the Ones Hiding in the Shadows an opportunity. It will not happen again." }

There was a rage in her voice that KiRA could distinctly feel. She was so fierce that his past self would have even submitted to her.

{ "I will reassure the public that there will be dangers. There will be deaths, and there will be unforeseen incidents going forward as well. The tower will do everything in its power to take humanity down.

Failing to climb the tower will not be the only demise, as we climb higher, this world will face challenges from inside the tower as well.

The Civilization the 3rd floor is only the beginning..." }

She seemed to have knowledge about the tower as well, giving her words more weight.

And she was not sugarcoating any of her words.

The dangers were there and the deaths will be natural in the process.

{ "We need to strengthen our resolve if we want this world to survive. Deaths will be common, but not a massacre by the hands of those following Destruction and Nihility." }

"...!"

The common people will not understand it, but just now, she had revealed the fact that she knew about the higher floors of the tower, something a Tower of Beginning player should not have known about.

{ "I urge the players to climb the tower. If we do not climb the tower, the end of our world will be closer than the end of a few of us." }

She was stern about this. She was requesting, however there was a certain dominance in her voice this time.

{ "I was not supposed to address everyone like this, not so soon. However, since They have forced my hands anyway, They should be prepared for what is to come as well." }

KiRA had no idea what she was talking about here. Perhaps she knew who was behind this incident and what their objective was.

Perhaps, there were many things happening around the world that even he did not know of.

’Is she dealing with something complicated?’

As merely a player that was climbing the tower, KiRA didn’t really know what was going on around the world.

Association was the representative body that was trying to handle things around the world and that was the reason he was supporting the association.

He wanted to meet the person in charge directly and see what he needed to do for them and for his own good. That’s why he had put Ziggy in the association.

But seeing this person now, it didn’t seem like he would have to worry about world affairs for the time being.

{ "We have done great surviving until now. So, let us survive till the end... let us defeat this damned tower and reclaim our world." }

She did not shout, she merely spoke.

And still, those words made such a deep impact on the people around the world that for a moment, a unique silence shrouded the world.

People stared at her projection, and then at one another.

Some cried, not being able to hold back the tears while some felt reassurance.

’She’s cool.’

Throughout the world, the players who were afraid to enter the tower again were ignited with a new fire.

They were the players with the duty to protect the world, they were the saviors who the world relied on.

There might have been some deaths but they cannot let those who sacrificed themselves for the sake of people around the world.

They needed to honor their deaths by moving forward.

By climbing the tower, they needed to prove their resolve to their deceased friends and family members.

{ "We will not succumb to the tower, nor to the Darkness aiming for our demise." }

KiRA wanted to know more about this person, however, as he watched the hologram, he felt as if She was looking directly at him... with Hope.

{ "We will persevere." }

This meeting, or the appearance of the President as he should say, was more than what he had expected.

There was something different about her.

’I look forward to our meeting, Miss Lucy.’

And he wanted to know more about what this uniqueness was...
