Chapter 51: Ch 51: Awakening the Necromancer
As Ye Tian stood in the forest, the Death Dragon’s Heart began to shift.
The massive, pulsating organ that floated in the air started to dissolve.
Not entirely, but as if shedding its physical form, it disintegrated into particles of purplish-black energy.
The dark essence swirled, glowing faintly under the moonlight, before converging in a concentrated cloud.
The energy didn’t linger long. It shot forward, phasing into Ye Tian’s body without resistance, as though it had been waiting for this moment.
He braced himself for pain, but to his surprise, he felt nothing... not even discomfort.
Instead, an eerie calm washed over him as the energy flowed through his veins.
However, his body began to change.
His heart, once an ordinary organ, turned jet black, pulsing faintly with an aura of death.
A strange, almost familiar symbol etched itself onto the back of his right hand... a tattoo resembling a snake, its jaws wide open as though ready to strike.
His reflection in the stream caught his eye, and he couldn’t help but smirk.
His once-blonde hair now flowed black as night, and his cerulean eyes had darkened, glowing faintly with a purplish hue.
Just as he admired his transformation, the black screen materialized before him.
---
[Congratulations! Your class has been successfully changed: None → Necromancer.]
[The stat ’Mana’ has been replaced by ’Death Mana.’]
[Death Mana: 5000/5000 (+4999)]
---
"Whoa!" Ye Tian exclaimed, his grin widening.
"Now that’s what I’m talking about."
His gaze shifted back to the tattoo on his hand. The snake coiled around his wrist, its intricately detailed scales glinting faintly under the moonlight.
"A nice little mark, huh? I wonder what you mean."
But before he could ponder further, the white screen flashed into existence.
---
[Skills have been provided for the Necromancer class:]
[Death Summon]: Summons a dead soul from its eternal slumber, binding it as a follower. Costs 500 Death Mana per summon.
[Mana Absorption]: Absorbs energy from corpses, converting it to Death Mana. This skill also grants experience points for growth.]
[Death Realm]: A unique skill allowing the user to store summoned creatures in a personal dimension. Maximum capacity: 100 summons.]
---
Ye Tian raised an eyebrow.
"Care to explain these a little more?"
The white screen flickered as it provided further details...
---
[Death Summon: The user may summon any dead being, bringing its body and will under their control. Summoned beings retain a fraction of their original strength and loyalty to the summoner. Their memories will depend on the bond shared with the Necromancer.]
[Mana Absorption: The user may absorb energy from dead beings or corpses. This energy replenishes Death Mana and grants experience points for leveling. The fresher the corpse, the more efficient the absorption.]
[Death Realm: Summoned beings can be stored in a personal dimension unique to the Necromancer. This allows for instant access and deployment. The space can hold up to 100 creatures, regardless of size or strength.]
---
"Huh." Ye Tian crossed his arms, a devilish grin playing on his lips.
"This isn’t bad at all. If anything, it’s perfect."
His gaze sharpened, focusing on the empty clearing before him.
"Since each Death Summon costs 500 Death Mana... I should probably test it out, right?"
Raising his right hand, he extended it forward. A faint ripple of energy escaped from his palm, the dark tattoo glowing ominously.
"Death Summon."
The Death Mana surged from his heart, coursing through his veins and coalescing in his hand.
Dark aura swirled around him as if drawn from the very fabric of the forest, condensing into a visible vortex.
As the energy concentrated, dust particles began to materialize and gather, forming what appeared to be bones.
One by one, the bones connected, taking the shape of a skeleton kneeling before him.
But the process didn’t stop there. A faint shimmer surrounded the skeleton, and worn, tattered robes materialized over its bony frame.
The robes, though weathered, bore the unmistakable design of the cultivation world... a style Ye Tian recognized immediately.
As the summoning completed, the skeleton stood upright.
It exuded an aura of faint familiarity, and in its hand, a sword appeared seemingly out of thin air.
The blade, though slightly rusted, glimmered faintly under the moonlight.
The skeleton dropped to one knee, bowing its head deeply. In a raspy voice, it spoke...
"Greetings, my lord."
Ye Tian froze, his eyes widening. His heart, now darkened, skipped a beat as recognition dawned upon him.
"No... It can’t be..." he whispered, stepping closer to the kneeling figure.
"Sword Demon?"
The skeleton raised its head, hollow eye sockets faintly glowing.
"Yes, my lord. It is I. Sword Demon, your humble servant."
Ye Tian’s gaze darkened, a mixture of disbelief and nostalgia flooding his expression.
He vividly remembered the Sword Demon... a loyal subordinate who had given his life to save Ye Tian during their battle against the immortals.
The memory of the moment Sword Demon took the brunt of the attack to shield him was etched deeply in his mind.
"How... Why are you here?" Ye Tian asked, his voice unusually soft.
The skeleton tilted its head, its voice carrying faint traces of emotion despite its lifeless tone.
"I do not know, my lord. But I am glad to see you once more. To serve you again... It is an honor I never thought I would receive."
Before Ye Tian could respond, the black screen appeared beside them, breaking the silence.
---
[Death Summon allows the user to summon individuals killed by Player Ye Tian. The strength, loyalty, and memories of the summoned being are influenced by the bond shared in life.]
---
"So that’s why..." Ye Tian murmured, his voice trailing off.
His eyes narrowed, staring at the kneeling skeleton.
"Sword Demon..." he said, his tone regaining its commanding edge.
"You may not understand why or how, but you’re here now. And I’ll make sure your sacrifice wasn’t in vain. You’ll fight alongside me once more."
The skeleton bowed its head lower, its sword planted firmly in the ground as it replied...
"As you command, my lord. My blade is yours."
A slow grin spread across Ye Tian’s face, his sharp teeth gleaming faintly in the dim light.
"Perfect..." he said, turning his back to the skeleton and gazing at the moonlit forest.
The Necromancer had begun his march.
