Chapter 96: Chapter 95 Thank You All for Your Support_1

"Welcome back, Master. Which maid can I get for you today?"

The maid at the door flashed a sweet smile, her eyes and expression genuinely treating the guest as a master.

Only a woman who truly understood the role of a maid could pull this off.

Aozawa was not new to maid cafes, but in his opinion, the Maid Cafe in Ikebukuro was definitely the best in Tokyo.

He glanced up and said, "Send number three over to me."

"Alright, Nashi, please show the Master to his table."

Arakawa Reina’s hand lightly clutched her maid skirt as she stepped forward, her gaze fixed on Aozawa’s teasing expression.

She felt an inexplicable rush of panic. She took a few deep breaths, and a smile crept onto her face as she said, "Master, please follow me."

The maid at the door spotted a blush on her cheek that shouldn’t have been there.

As a long-standing part-time staff member of the Maid Cafe, Arakawa Reina had long overcome that initial shyness and could show a proper smile to any guest.

But now, that proper smile seemed to have vanished, and she had reverted to the fresh-faced newcomer she once was.

The doorkeeping maid’s gaze wandered between Aozawa and Arakawa Reina. Curiosity stirred in her heart. What was the relationship between the two?

Arakawa Reina guided Aozawa to a seat by the window and, with her eyes drifting across the table, asked, "Master, what would you like to order?"

"I’ll have one of your smiles," he replied.

Arakawa Reina turned even redder and grew more flustered. She felt as if her brain was running out of oxygen. In a voice as faint as a mosquito’s, she said, "Th-there isn’t such a dessert..."

"Don’t be nervous, Class President."

Aozawa said with a smile, enjoying the sight of her being tense and shy.

Actually, a significant reason he chose this specific Maid Cafe was to see the Class President’s flustered expression. It helped his brain, which had just suffered from the pain of studying, to relax.

On weekends, Aozawa didn’t have a fixed study schedule, only a fixed study time.

Whether it was in the morning, afternoon, or evening, he always carved out an hour to rigorously feed his brain with knowledge, aiming to improve himself.

He had workout times as well.

Beyond study and exercise time, the rest was for play and sleep.

In Aozawa’s view, a balance of work and leisure was the most relaxing way to live.

"Y-yes..." Arakawa Reina weakly replied. She inwardly cursed herself for her lack of backbone; all the retorts she had prepared vanished in Aozawa’s presence.

Like a turtle encountering a stranger, she withdrew into her shell, far from brave.

"I’ll take a latte, a donut, a soufflé, a pudding pie, and oh, don’t forget the Class President’s love magic."

Aozawa emphasized the term "Class President."

Don’t ask why he called her that; sometimes, a specific term can be more comforting than a name.

"Understood." Arakawa Reina noted his order, turned, and rushed away as if fleeing disaster.

Aozawa touched his chin. He savored the joy of being the Demon King.

「...」

Arakawa Reina handed the order to the kitchen. Her heart was torn. She had mustered the courage to defy Aozawa’s tyranny and refuse his threats, but reality was not like she had imagined.

She sighed inwardly.

Then it occurred to her: if she couldn’t say it to his face, why not use her phone? After some thought, she decided this was a good idea.

She clenched her fists secretly. She was determined to add Aozawa as a friend on LINE. Through the screen, she would declare her resolve to resist, telling him not to dare use her part-time job at the Maid Cafe to threaten her. Arakawa Reina would not yield to anyone’s threats! She envisioned that future and took a few deep breaths.

After the coffee was ready in the kitchen, Arakawa Reina carried the coffee and dessert to Aozawa.

"Master, your coffee and dessert are ready."

Arakawa Reina paused mid-speech, her face turning bright red. She made a heart shape with her hands at her chest and said, "I have cast love magic for the Master. Please enjoy your meal slowly."

"Class President, I can sense how strong your love is," Aozawa replied with a serious face.

Arakawa Reina glanced down. She realized the meaning behind his words, and even her earlobes turned scarlet. She whispered, "Master, would you like to exchange contact information?"

Her voice was so weak, it was as if the words barely left her lips.

Only because Aozawa had excellent hearing did he manage to understand what she said.

He looked at her cheeks, red as ripe apples, and her eyes, too embarrassed to meet his.

Aozawa sighed inwardly. The downside of being handsome, he mused, was that people always wanted his contact information.

"No problem." Aozawa didn’t refuse, not wanting to upset her to the point of tears. They added each other as friends.

Arakawa Reina breathed a sigh of relief. She felt as if she had used up all her social energy. She turned around, made an excuse to her colleagues about needing the restroom, and hurried off.

She disappeared from the restaurant.

「...」

Sunlight spilled through the floor-to-ceiling window. Aozawa picked up his coffee, took a leisurely sip, and enjoyed the faint sweetness.

DING. His phone chimed with a notification.

He glanced at it curiously and opened the message.

"Bastard! If you dare continue using the fact that I work at a Maid Cafe to threaten me, I’ll kill you!"

The irregularly sized, flashing font displayed the sender’s current mood, quickly followed by a sticker.

It depicted one person continuously stabbing another, with blood—looking suspiciously like ketchup applied with too much force—spurting out.

Kill, kill, kill, kill.

Crimson letters pulsed beside it.

Looking at the sticker, then the text above it, Aozawa clicked on the profile picture.

He confirmed he hadn’t mistaken the person; it was indeed the friend he had just added, Arakawa Reina.

Good grief. At school, she was the demure, introverted, glasses-wearing Class President. At the Maid Cafe, a passionate and cheerful maid. And online, a thug. The contrast between the three personas was somewhat shocking to him.

"Bastard, reply when you see this!"

Aozawa typed back, "Class President, I haven’t even left yet. Are you sure you want to be this defiant?"

"Heh, you think I’m afraid of you? I’m a black belt in karate! A weakling like you? I could take on six of you with one hand!"

She sent another sticker of someone getting beaten up.

Aozawa couldn’t help but laugh and replied, "Okay, okay, you’re tough. I won’t use this to threaten you, rest assured."

"Hmph! Good that you know your place."

Arakawa Reina sent this message, feeling especially cheerful. The narrow restroom stall gave her a profound sense of security. Here, she could ignore any threat from anyone! She was the strongest creature on Earth!

When she returned to the restaurant, Arakawa Reina’s courage quickly dissipated into the air, and she dared not glance in Aozawa’s direction.

Seeing her timid appearance, Aozawa didn’t say anything. He lowered his head to enjoy the food on the table. He quietly planned his next moves: a stroll in the sky, then some fun in the sea. After that, head home when it was time, and sleep, ready to welcome Monday and the arrival of his new Superpower.
