Yuehuan rushed to the side of the unconscious Yueyao as she got out of the carriage. Nanny Hao cried out urgently, "Miss." It was not the time to blame anyone, but rather to make sure she woke up quickly.

Yuehuan also felt this made sense, "Lift her onto the carriage." It certainly wasn’t the place to undress her for a check. Once on the carriage, Yuehuan was about to open Yueyao’s clothes but felt that her body was stiff.

As Yuehuan was puzzled, she saw Yueyao open her eyes. Yueyao had not really been unconscious; she had been feigning it.

Yueyao had intended to pretend a bit longer, but seeing Yuehuan about to undress her shocked her—how could she think of undressing? This was what Yueyao had prepared earlier in case of falls or slips while in the mountains, never expecting to need it upon descending rather than while ascending.

Nanny Hao immediately instructed others to search, and they soon found the medical box. Yuehuan personally stopped the bleeding and then wrapped Qiao Lan’s wounds with white cloth.

Seeing Yueyao lying pale on the carriage, Yuehuan felt a bit sad. Yet, she suppressed this emotion and asked softly, "Third Sister, does your body hurt a lot?" Yuehuan truly admired Yueyao, for reacting so quickly to such an accident, otherwise, the injuries could have been severe. Yuehuan believed she could not have done the same.

Yueyao, not wanting to talk about herself although she had agreed to help out of respect for Yuehuan, didn’t want Yuehuan to know too much about her matters, "How are Hua Lei and Qiao Lan’s injuries?" She just hoped both were all right.

Learning that Hua Lei had injured her muscles and bones but was not in life-threatening condition, yet Qiao Lan was still unconscious and in critical condition, Yueyao ordered, "Let’s quickly return to the Capital City to find a doctor."

On the way down the mountain, whenever they encountered a steep slope, everyone cautiously followed the coachman leading the horses down.

Yueyao remained silent all the way to the Capital City. She didn’t think the incident was an accident; she felt it was a plot meant to kill her. This life was different from her last; many things had changed. It was entirely possible for the Lady family, unable to restrain their impatience for her death, to plot for it. If she died, leaving Tingzheng behind, they could manipulate him as they pleased, and all the wealth would naturally fall into the hands of the Lady family.
