Chapter 138: Chapter 138 Husband, Can You Stop Being Angry?

The statement was disjointed, and Li Mingjue didn’t understand. He asked directly, "What do you mean?"

Seeing she could no longer hide the truth, Qi Yu had no choice but to recount what happened in the back mountain of Yunhe Temple that day in great detail.

After Li Mingjue heard the story, he was so angry he felt he could die.

He glared at her and said loudly, "Such a big matter, and you’re telling me only now!"

Although it was normal not to find time to discuss it during the urgent situation at Yunhe Temple,

Qi Yu had been back at the Prince Residence for a while now and had shown no intention of sharing with him.

If it hadn’t been for the unexpected revelation today, who knows how much longer she would have kept it from him.

Seeing his anger, Qi Yu felt somewhat panicked. Still, she maintained a nonchalant façade, "Maybe, he just doubted that he saw it wrong. Ordinary people wouldn’t connect it to this."

Upon hearing this, Li Mingjue just gave her a faint look and did not reply.

Qi Yu felt she was truly shooting herself in the foot. Why on earth did she bring up this matter?

However, what needed to be said still had to be said.

Otherwise, one day when Jiutu puts things together, she would be in danger.

She still had no way to completely break Tulan’s Witchcraft Technique; last time she was merely lucky—just barely managing to suppress the Poisonous Insect Poison with the Qingfeng Pill.

Next time, she may not be so fortunate.

Moreover, the varieties of Tulan’s Poisonous Insect Poison were so plentiful, they were simply impossible to defend against completely.

Qi Yu couldn’t guarantee that she would always be able to avoid being tricked.

Thinking this, her actions today were indeed a bit reckless.

But reckless as it was, she had at least managed to draw out the identity of the man in black.

Otherwise, with the enemy in the shadows and oneself in the light, it’s like being in darkness under a lamp, being schemed against without any clue what was happening.

Seeing her biting her lip, lost in thought, Li Mingjue’s mounting anger rose further, and he rose to leave, flicking his sleeves as he departed.

Leaving her alone in the study to reflect properly.

Her audacity was growing; she even dared to engage in such dangerous acts right under his nose.

If one day he was unable to guard her, the world would turn upside down.

Walking around the Prince Residence for a while, Li Mingjue’s anger subsided a little.

He had always known that, although Qi Yu was a Divine Doctor, she was still young, with a childlike temperament.

The more dangerous the task, the more she sought to tackle it.

Now, even a closely guarded secret had been discovered; who knows how much trouble awaited them.

Just thinking about it gave Li Mingjue a headache.

Marrying a Princess unlike any other brought him both shock and joy.

It was all frightened out of him by her.

Feeling out of sorts today, and not wanting to return to his quarters early for fear of seeing Qi Yu and getting even angrier,

he decided to change course and headed to the bamboo forest, instructing Shiqi to bring his sword.

Since his illness, he hadn’t touched the sword at all, and Shiqi did not know why the Prince would suddenly want to practice Swordsmanship in the bamboo grove late at night.

He respectfully presented the sword to Li Mingjue, saying, "Master, your sword."

Li Mingjue, rid of the cumbersome robe and dressed in a dark garment, took the sword and executed several movements.

From a distance, Shiqi watched his master’s Swordsmanship, practiced since childhood—elegant in motion but filled with lethal Sword Qi.

Before long, numerous leaves had been sliced off in the bamboo grove.

The leaves, barely touching the ground, were quickly lifted by the Sword Qi, converging at the tip of the sword and swirling in the air; from afar, it looked as if a human figure was dancing amidst them.

Qi Yu stayed in the study for a while, only to realize that Li Mingjue had disappeared.

She slapped her forehead in annoyance. She had been so engrossed in the witchcraft technique that she didn’t even notice when he had left.

Now, she feared he might be even angrier.

Qi Yu immediately stood up, blew out the candles in the study, and hurried towards the door to look for him.

She returned to her room first and saw that it was still dark inside, showing no signs of anyone’s presence. She then changed direction and continued her search.

Along the way, she grabbed every maid and servant she encountered to ask for directions.

After piecing together more than a dozen responses, she finally made it to the bamboo grove.

Stepping into the bamboo forest, Qi Yu’s first reaction was surprise; she had been at the Prince Residence for so long, yet she didn’t know there was a bamboo forest here.

However, her attention was quickly captured by the individual performing a sword dance not far away.

Shiqi had noticed her the moment she entered. He intuited that the Prince’s unusual behavior today must have something to do with the Princess, so without thinking, he hid.

Qi Yu smoothly made her way into the bamboo grove and sat down at a stone table, cradling her hands and quietly watching the figure performing the sword dance.

Although she was not versed in swordsmanship, she could tell that there was a killing intent in Li Mingjue’s moves.

Qi Yu sighed regretfully, thinking to herself how unnecessary it was to have provoked such consequence.

Now she had angered him and had no idea how to soothe him.

Li Mingjue caught a glimpse of a white silhouette from the corner of his eye. His movements faltered for a moment, and the fierce energy at the tip of his sword also wilted.

As someone trained in martial arts, he knew that his focus had been disrupted.

But the instigator of this chaos was unaware, resting her chin on her hands and staring at him with burning eyes.

Li Mingjue’s ears felt a bit warm. He feigned a step on the bamboo leaves, withdrew his sword, and gracefully landed back on the ground.

He turned his back on Qi Yu, not wanting to look at her.

But Qi Yu was not someone he could simply ignore if he chose to. Seeing that Li Mingjue didn’t look her way immediately after stopping, she knew that he was still in a huff with her.

What to do, but to coax him?

Qi Yu sighed resignedly, stood up, and with her hands behind her back, walked across the scattered bamboo leaves toward him.

A rustling sound echoed throughout the grove, accompanied by the patter of her cheerful footsteps.

Each step seemed to press down upon Li Mingjue’s heart.

Although he was reluctant to respond to Qi Yu’s presence proactively, he stood still, waiting for her to slowly approach.

However, Qi Yu stopped half a meter behind him and stood still.

She covered her mouth and silently chuckled.

No one spoke, and aside from the breeze of early spring, there was silence.

Li Mingjue waited for a while but heard no movement. A frown formed between his brows, and just as he was about to turn around to see what was going on, he was suddenly tackled from behind.

Qi Yu jumped onto his back, her hands covering his eyes.

Li Mingjue panicked for a moment, worried she might fall, and quickly ensured she was securely on his back, chiding, "What are you doing? You could have hurt yourself!"

Qi Yu leaned in close to his ear, her voice crisp and pleasant, "I’m not afraid—I have the Prince here!"

The words he wanted to say were stuck in his throat, unmoving. Li Mingjue’s lips twitched, but in the end, he said nothing.

He didn’t want to admit that he had been so easily mollified, and he coldly uttered, "Get down!"

Qi Yu removed her hands from in front of his eyes and instead wrapped them around his neck, as if fearing she would be dropped, she protested, "No, I will not!"

Li Mingjue felt a twinge of pain in his neck from her grip, leaving him unable to speak.

As soon as she loosened her hold, just as he was about to speak, he felt a soft touch on his ear.

Qi Yu brushed her lips against the tip of his earlobe and whispered softly, "My Lord, won’t you stop being angry, please?"
