Chapter 113: Chapter 113: Hearing that the Princess Can Cure All The World’s Poisons
Li Tianze was so shocked that he couldn’t speak for a long while, this matter was even more astonishing than when he had initially found out that Qi Yu was an idiot.
The Hidden Guard didn’t dare to utter a sound to disturb him either.
They had only managed to uncover so much thus far.
After a long while, Li Tianze finally broke the silence and said, "She actually knows medical skills?"
The Hidden Guard nodded, "Yes, the Princess of Prince Qiu Residence indeed understands medicine."
Yongchun Hall had just been open for a short while and its reputation had already caught up with the century-old famous Tongfu Hall in the capital city, Qi Yu was indeed more than just knowledgeable in medicine.
But he did not know how much she really understood; he could only offer a more prudent expression.
Li Tianze had received quite a shock over the past couple of days, and for the moment, he couldn’t come up with anything to say; he waved his hand and commanded the Hidden Guard, "Continue investigating."
The Hidden Guard complied with a nod, then retreated as silently as he had appeared.
Inside Yongchun Hall, Qi Yu still did not know that her identity had been exposed; she was focusing intently on taking pulses and prescribing medicine.
The number of people queuing was growing more and more, among whom naturally mixed many who were not truly ill but had come merely to test her.
Qi Yu was also extremely annoyed by this and could only say in a cold voice, "Yongchun Hall strictly prohibits such behavior. If discovered once, you are banned from entering Yongchun Hall for life."
She had opened the Medical Hall to save people, not to provide entertainment for them.
Those few who were caught were given a thorough reprimand and jabbed with a few silver needles; they felt pain all over and could only cry and beg for mercy, saying they wouldn’t dare do it again.
Afterwards, the number of people deliberately causing trouble decreased significantly.
Two hours later, the steward Qian dispersed the people still in line, and in front of Yongchun Hall, tranquility returned.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead and exclaimed, "The mistress truly has a Bodhisattva’s heart."
Just assisting her with selecting medicines on the side exhausted him, let alone Qi Yu, who did not even have time to take a sip of water between seeing patients after patients and ensuring that the prescriptions were accurate and error-free. It was truly no easy task.
Song Ling also nodded in agreement and praised, "Indeed."
Qi Yu waved her hand dismissively and said casually, "No matter how many nice things you say, I won’t raise your salaries, so save your breath."
What Bodhisattva’s heart; such words made her feel uncomfortable.
She was not a good person.
She simply didn’t want to waste the medical skills she possessed.
And besides, she didn’t lack money; earning those few coins from selling medicine wasn’t meaningful to her, so she treated it as a form of charity.
Upon returning to the Prince Residence, when Li Bo saw her lips were pale from exhaustion, he quickly ordered the kitchen to prepare several nourishing medicinal dishes.
Qi Yu could only drink them to replenish her energy.
Li Bo couldn’t help but advise her, "Princess, it’s good that you’ve opened the Medical Hall, but you can’t wear yourself out."
Qi Yu knew he meant well, so she smiled and replied, "It’s nothing, this bit of exhaustion is not worth mentioning."
Seeing her pleasure in her work, Li Bo could only shake his head.
These days, the treasury of the Prince Residence had received a new batch of items, and Li Bo had someone bring over the ledger for her to review.
Qi Yu sat in a recliner and flipped through it casually.
These were some of the rewards from New Year, as well as the rare treasures Mingjue had somehow acquired.
Having nothing else to do, she summoned Song Ling to accompany her to take a look.
"Princess, everything is here," the person in charge of the treasury said to her respectfully upon her arrival.
This was Qi Yu’s first visit to the treasury of Prince Qiu Residence, she had known before that it contained quite a few valuable items, but she hadn’t realized that it was to such an extent.
She ran her hands over several glazed vases and sighed, "Is this the world of the wealthy?"
Li Bo said with a smile, "The Prince said that if the Princess likes them, she can take any she wants."
Li Mingjue had given this instruction a few months earlier, but at the time, Qi Yu hadn’t taken it seriously.
Now, faced with so many treasures, she found her eyes dazzled.
She pointed to a set of smoke-blue tea ware and said to Song Ling, "This set would be nice to use for drinking tea."
Song Ling glanced at it and laughed, "That would be too luxurious."
Qi Yu might not recognize the value, but he had seen the characters "Liao Fan" engraved on the set of tea ware.
He explained, "Master Liao Fan personally crafted this set as a gift for the Prince. It would be better to keep it."
Qi Yu picked up a teacup and indeed saw two carefree and unrestrained characters at the rim of the cup.
Anything that made it into the Prince Qiu Residence certainly had a significant background.
But she felt no burden in using it, "After all, objects are meant to be used. How else can one appreciate their value?"
To let them gather dust would be the real waste.
Song Ling heard this perspective for the first time, and after a moment of surprise, he had an epiphany, "The Princess is indeed insightful."
The two of them then moved the extremely valuable tea set to the backyard and used it to make tea.
In the front hall, a monk with a refined appearance held prayer beads, sitting opposite Li Mingjue.
The storeroom wasn’t far from the front hall.
Both of them heard Qi Yu’s statement clearly, and it wasn’t until the noise had died down that Liao Fan smiled, his expression bright and clear, "Princess Qiu truly stands out from the ordinary."
Li Mingjue stood up with a trace of amusement in his eyes, "The tea set that took Master ten years to create has been treated like this. Do you really not mind?"
Liao Fan’s expression remained the same, "The Princess is correct, objects are indeed meant to be used."
Seeing that Liao Fan genuinely bore no resentment in his words, Li Mingjue nodded slightly and led him towards the backyard.
Qi Yu was brewing tea when she looked up and saw two people approaching from a distance. One of them was wearing a monk’s robe, and she nearly failed to keep her hold on the teacup steady.
Song Ling, sitting opposite her, hadn’t noticed the people coming their way. Seeing her expression change, he asked, "What’s the matter?"
Qi Yu took a sip of tea and said indifferently, "Nothing much, just the owner of the teacup has arrived."
Song Ling looked at her in astonishment and by the time he understood, the two men stood inside the small tea room.
Liao Fan met their gazes and smiled faintly, "May I trouble you for a cup of tea?"
Qi Yu, without a word, put down that supposedly priceless teacup and walked over to Li Mingjue’s side, asking in a low voice, "He’s not here to settle accounts with me, is he?"
Li Mingjue raised his eyebrows slightly, "Of course... not."
Qi Yu’s heart was in a flutter, but seeing Liao Fan sit down carefree and share a cup of tea, she glared at the person who had deliberately teased her.
However, having someone who she thought existed only in legends suddenly appear before her piqued her curiosity, "Why has he come all of a sudden?"
Li Mingjue pulled her to sit down and spoke at a leisurely pace, "The Master has come because he has a favor to ask of you."
"Me?" Qi Yu was taken aback.
Liao Fan nodded and said, "Yes, the monk indeed has a request."
He was exceedingly polite, and Qi Yu, having just taken out the invaluable tea set for use, touched her nose awkwardly, "Please speak frankly, Master. I will help if I can."
The smile in Liao Fan’s eyes faded slightly, and his hand tightened around the teacup as he asked, "It is said that the Princess can cure the world’s most extraordinary poisons, is that so?"
