Chapter 112: Chapter 112: The Person is Sent by Your Father, the Emperor
Qi Yu did not make a sound to alert the person, since if Li Tianze had sent them, they would not recklessly harm her.
However, she thought about it and concluded that Li Tianze had probably started to suspect her.
She tried to act as if she did not know someone was watching her, opened the door to let the maid assist her with her bath, and then simply lay in her room peacefully.
Only when Li Mingjue returned to the room did she open her eyes.
Li Mingjue, initially moving gently so as not to disturb an apparently sleeping person, became slightly furrowed upon seeing her eyes open, "Why haven’t you gone to sleep yet? It’s so late."
Qi Yu shook her head at him and even gestured towards the ceiling, mouthing the words, "Someone is here."
Li Mingjue’s expression hardened, and he immediately became alert.
He was about to have Shiqi capture the person when Qi Yu held him back and whispered in his ear, "The person was sent by your father."
Hearing her words, the chill in Li Mingjue’s body dissipated slightly.
However, he seized a certain keyword in her sentence and said discontentedly, "He’s your father too."
He disliked her constant efforts to distance herself from him.
Qi Yu was momentarily speechless, decided not to argue, and waved her hand, indicating she understood.
As they were under surveillance, both lay silently without speaking.
Unable to restrain herself, Qi Yu grabbed his hand and wrote on his palm, "He’s beginning to suspect me."
It was obvious whom she referred to by "he."
Li Mingjue did not take offense to her irreverent tone, knowing besides her, who else would dare to refer to the emperor simply as "he."
He mirrored her action, writing several words in her significantly smaller palm, "Don’t worry, I’m here for everything."
Qi Yu’s hand felt ticklish as he held it, and wrote each stroke on it.
After he finished writing that sentence, she even more wanted to pull her hand away.
They had been having a nice conversation, and now this cheesy line!
She moved her wrist, but he grasped it even tighter.
Li Mingjue did not turn his head and in the candlelight, his gaze held a smiling expression as he watched her.
With each glance from him, Qi Yu’s face reddened more and more until she closed her eyes in irritation.
The two of them held hands through the night.
The next day, before Qi Yu left the residence, she specifically had Shen Nanxing and Shiqi check thoroughly to see if the person was still there.
After a search, they saw no signs of the stranger.
Qi Yu felt relieved, changed her clothes, and slipped out of the Prince Residence through the back door with Song Ling.
In her relaxed state, she did not notice that a gaze lingered on her from behind.
It was not until she entered Yongchun Hall that the person disappeared into the crowd.
In the Imperial Palace, Li Tianze was stopped early in the morning by Noble Consort Anran, and he watched her sobbing look with great annoyance in his heart.
"What is the matter, my consort?"
Noble Consort Anran had learned about Li Ming’an’s situation the previous day and was terribly anxious, but fearing that Li Tianze was still furious, she felt it would be useless to approach him.
She waited through the night, hoping that Li Tianze might have calmed down, and only dared to show herself after he had left the morning court.
Her eyes were swollen from crying, making her look very pitiful as she spoke urgently, "Your Majesty, An’an must have been wronged!"
Li Tianze, who had been furious earlier during the morning court, felt his gaze cool a few degrees when she brought up this matter again, "Do you wish to meddle in political affairs?"
Upon hearing this, Noble Consort Anran’s tears stopped immediately, and she hurriedly shook her head, "I dare not, I am just worried about An’an. He is a good child, I don’t believe he would do such a thing."
Interfering in the affairs of the harem was a major taboo. Even given ten times the courage, she wouldn’t dare admit it.
Upon hearing her words, Li Tianze sneered, "If he were truly innocent, I certainly wouldn’t have wronged him."
If the words of Heifeng hadn’t shaken him, then the several letters that Qiu Lian had found within the Prince An Residence were enough to make him uneasy.
If Li Ming’an had indeed colluded with the people of Tulan, that was a capital offense.
Noble Consort An was frightened by the coldness in his words, and dared not say more.
She returned to her own palace and smashed various things around.
The palace attendants all kneeled in a line, not daring to raise their heads.
After smashing things, she angrily walked to the palace where Princess Lingya was currently residing.
Upon entering, she asked furiously, "Didn’t we agree on an alliance? Why would the Princess assist Prince Qiu’s wife?"
She had inquired about yesterday’s events thoroughly, Lingya had indeed taken Prince Qiu’s side.
She wasn’t foolish—upon hearing this, she knew immediately that Lingya and Qi Yu had already made a private deal.
Adi had no fondness for this arrogant and domineering Noble Consort, and upon seeing her about to confront the Princess, quickly drew his sword to block her path.
Lingya, however, stopped him, "Adi, put down the sword."
"But..." Adi frowned, glancing at Noble Consort An, who was already in a state of frenzy.
Lingya remained unconcerned.
Compared to the inscrutable Qi Yu, Noble Consort An was far too easy to handle.
Thinking she had talent simply because she schemed her way to the top, and acting superior after receiving a bit of favor, she disregarded others.
Such a person could be overwhelmed without even needing to lift a finger.
Lingya looked at Noble Consort An and smiled, "What do you mean by these words, Noble Consort?"
Noble Consort An’s nails were digging into her flesh, wishing she could tear Lingya’s face apart, "You dare not admit it now! It was you who framed Prince Qiu’s wife initially, and now you’re pretending to be the good person!"
Lingya scoffed softly, "I didn’t expect the Noble Consort to be so naïve. Prince An conspired with my royal brother to poison and harm me—should I have joined forces with you and your son instead?"
She had originally thought this mother and son duo had some usefulness, but it turned out they were just fair-weather friends.
Seeing that she couldn’t marry into the Prince Qiu Residence, they immediately turned their backs and even tried to harm her.
Noble Consort An had no face to even mention the word ’alliance’.
Having said this, Lingya didn’t want to watch Noble Consort An continue her madness, so she promptly had Adi send her off and then shut the palace doors.
For years, Noble Consort An had been domineering in the harem, but this was the first time she was rebuffed at the door.
Furious, she slammed the door twice, enduring the pain, and muttered angrily, "A princess from Tulan dares to show me attitude!"
The following palace attendants, witnessing this scene, dared not speak. They followed diligently behind her, anxious, not knowing when she would vent her anger on them again.
Elsewhere, within the Imperial Study Room, Li Tianze’s expression turned colder as he listened to the Hidden Guard’s words.
Qi Yu really was restless. He dared to leave the Prince Residence behind his back, taking the punishment I ordered yesterday lightly.
The Hidden Guard kept his head down, continuing, "After leaving the Prince Residence, the Prince’s wife went to a place called Yongchun Hall."
"Yongchun Hall?" Li Tianze frowned.
He did know that a new Medical Hall had opened recently in the capital city, which seemed to be called this name.
But what was Qi Yu doing there?
The Hidden Guard, having already investigated the situation when he saw the Prince’s wife entering the Medical Hall dressed strangely, replied immediately, "Your Majesty, the Prince’s wife is none other than the elusive owner of Yongchun Hall."
