Time Travel: Pampered by the Aloof Prince
Chapter 110: Could I possibly eat her?

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Could I possibly eat her?

His words redirected everyone’s attention toward Qi Yu, who had been silently watching from the side.

Qi Yu, however, smiled leisurely and, looking at Li Ming’an kneeling on the ground, feigned surprise, "Even if the Prince admires the Princess’s abilities, there’s no need for such grand gestures."

Her tone was exceedingly irritating, making Li Ming’an’s already somber face look even more sinister.

"I didn’t expect the Princess to be someone who dares to act but not own up."

Li Mingjue immediately stepped forward to protect her and, looking inquisitively toward Li Tianze, said, "Your Majesty, we should interrogate the criminal first to give an explanation to the Prince and Princess Lingya."

Li Tianze brushed his gaze coldly over them and said to Li Ming’an, still kneeling, "Rise, my son."

Li Ming’an could only prop himself up with one hand, his figure unsteady as he stood.

His leg had been pricked by a silver needle. Although the pain had passed, he was certain someone had set him up.

And who else could it be but Qi Yu?

Pointing at Qi Yu, he asserted confidently, "Your Majesty, I was indeed ambushed by the Princess just now. She intentionally stabbed my leg with a silver needle!"

Qi Yu glared back at him and also cried out to Li Tianze, "Your Majesty, he’s framing me. How could I possibly scheme against you in front of everyone!"

The two argued for a bit until Li Tianze waved his hand and interrupted, "Enough!"

He rubbed his forehead, feeling for the first time that Yangxin Hall could be so noisy.

Seeing this, Zhou Fu immediately had a cup of hot tea prepared, placing it before him, "Your Majesty, please rest a moment."

As Li Tianze sipped his tea, he recalled the events that had transpired.

First, Heifeng accused Li Ming’an, and then Li Ming’an claimed he was ambushed.

Could such things be merely coincidental?

His gaze grew icy, and he set the teacup down heavily, pointing at Heifeng and saying harshly, "You claim you were instructed by Prince An to poison the Princess, do you have any evidence?"

Heifeng, who had just been kicked by Li Ming’an, coughed twice in pain and said through discomfort, "Of course, there is evidence. If Your Majesty does not believe it, you may search the study at Prince An Residence. There you will find letters of Prince An conspiring with the Tulan Prince to harm the Princess."

Li Ming’an’s complexion turned completely pale, not anticipating that Heifeng would dare betray him.

He looked up at Li Tianze, whose face had already darkened, and hurriedly explained, "Your Majesty, I didn’t! It’s all this criminal’s false accusations trying to frame me!"

Li Tianze was infuriated for quite a while before recovering.

Poisoning was one thing, but Li Ming’an had also colluded with the Tulan Imperial Family.

He threw his teacup downward, striking Li Ming’an, "Are you trying to stage a rebellion?"

Li Ming’an, ignoring the tea on his body, knelt down in pain, "Your Majesty, do you not trust me?"

Everyone in the hall, aside from Li Mingjue and Qi Yu, including the victim Princess Lingya, knelt down.

Qiu Lian wished he could bury his head in the ground.

He had never anticipated that the situation would evolve to this extent.

He originally thought he only had to find the perpetrator of the poisoning.

But now it involved Prince An, and there were even rumors of Prince An conspiring with the Tulan people.

He dared not think further as he continued his investigation.

Li Tianze looked sharply at Li Ming’an.

Although he wasn’t very fond of this son, he was still his flesh and blood.

Pain flickered through his eyes; he waved his hand, instructing Qiu Lian to lead the imperial guard to search the Prince An Residence.

An hour later, Qiu Lian, trembling, knelt down with several incriminating letters.

This was indeed evidence against Prince An.

After reading, Li Tianze tossed the papers in front of Li Ming’an, "What else do you have to say!"

Li Ming’an bit back refusing to loosen his lips, only saying, "This prince knows nothing."

He turned his gaze away, his eyes fiercely staring at Li Mingjue and Qi Yu, "This prince has been framed!"

Conspiring with foreign tribes was a crime punishable by the execution of the entire family; he could not possibly confess to it.

For now, his only option was to pretend ignorance and dissociate himself from the matter to possibly escape punishment.

Qi Yu, meeting his gaze, scoffed, "His Highness Prince An is implying what exactly? Could it be that these letters were stuffed into your residence by the princess herself?"

To dare throw mud at her when death was near, as if everyone was a fool like him.

Li Tianze’s expression had already reached an ugly extreme, and with both the person and evidence caught, no matter how Li Ming’an argued, the matter had to be thoroughly investigated.

In the end, Li Ming’an was confined in the Prince Residence, put under house arrest.

Heifeng was sent back to the Imperial Prison, to await sentencing after the investigation was clear.

After handling these two, Li Tianze looked towards Lingya, "This has made a fool out of the princess."

Lingya, with her head lowered, said in a mild tone, "Your Majesty is profoundly righteous."

It was hard to tell from her words whether she was satisfied or dissatisfied.

But Li Tianze could no longer care, he wearily pressed his brow, waving his hand to dismiss the others.

Before leaving, he glanced at Qi Yu and called out to her.

"Princess Qi, stay behind, I have a few words to say."

Qi Yu pointed at herself, slightly surprised, "Me?"

Before Li Tianze could speak, he heard Li Mingjue say firmly, "Father, I wish to stay with the princess."

Qi Yu held too many secrets, and although Li Ming’an had not successfully misdirected today, he had still aroused Li Tianze’s suspicions.

He could not rest easy allowing her to face Li Tianze alone.

Qi Yu patted his shoulder, smiling casually, "Prince, no need to worry, Father won’t do anything to me."

She truly was not afraid of Li Tianze; even though he was the emperor, he could not act against her without reason.

Moreover, she still had her space; if anything truly happened, she could just hide and everything would be fine.

Li Tianze glared at Li Mingjue unhappily, frowning, "Could I possibly eat her up?"

It was unclear what was so good about this rough princess that made him care so much.

Li Mingjue’s thin lips tightened, looking quite unwilling.

He let go of Qi Yu’s hand and said to Li Tianze, "If that’s the case, I shall wait outside."

He did not give Li Tianze a chance to get angry and, after shutting the door, he stood directly outside, appearing like a door god.

His intentions were very clear, if Li Tianze dared to harass Qi Yu, he would immediately break in.

Li Tianze was furious, wasn’t he the father who had raised him from childhood? How could he be so untrustworthy?

Qi Yu shook her head amusedly, yet a stream of warmth flowed in her heart.

Having the noble prince standing guard for her was a lifetime’s worth.

Inside the vast Yangxin Hall, only the two of them remained.

Li Tianze sat on the Dragon Chair, his aura commanding as he looked at Qi Yu.

Qi Yu also looked at him, both seeming to compete in who could remain composed longer, neither speaking first.

After a long while, Qi Yu sighed lightly, feeling that this father and son did share some similarities.

She resignedly spoke, "I do not know why Father kept me here alone, what is it that you wish to speak of?"
