Chapter 109: Chapter 109 Princess Qi’s Remarkable Skills

Li Ming’an was almost driven mad by his words.

But he was powerless against him.

He could only stand there very frustrated, thinking about finding a good opportunity to make a move later.

Qiu Lian was not as relaxed as them; he now had a few more gray hairs due to worry.

He clasped his hands together and, with an air of resignation, said, "Your Highnesses, I am incompetent and truly cannot determine whether this man’s words are true or false. Why not bring this person before His Majesty and the Princess to decide their fate?"

Whoever wants to solve this case can go ahead, but he did not want to deal with it anymore.

It was already a headache that it involved Princess Lingya, and now, inexplicably, Prince An had been dragged into it as well.

Just after the New Year, he felt that this year was not going to be favorable.

The official hat on his head was likely not going to be safe anymore.

Qiu Lian sighed deeply, feeling that his position was truly thankless.

When Li Ming’an heard his words, he immediately frowned and objected, "How can we bring such a vicious criminal before the Emperor and the Princess? What if someone gets hurt?"

He had already noticed that something was amiss with Heifeng.

If he really brought the person before Li Tianze, he feared he would not be able to handle the consequences.

However, Li Mingjue just smiled and said, "The Emperor is being too cautious, I think this idea is quite good."

He looked at Li Ming’an with a mocking gaze and, before he could speak, decisively said, "Let’s leave this matter to be decided by the Emperor and the Princess."

Seeing that he had support, Qiu Lian quickly nodded and had someone tidy up Heifeng a bit and then took him directly to the Imperial Palace.

Upon entering Yangxin Hall, Li Tianze looked at Heifeng below and frowned.

He had Zhou Fu call Princess Lingya over, but two people came instead.

Qi Yu had already figured out that Li Ming’an would not just sit idly by; she had Li Mingjue block at the Ministry of Justice first, and then entered the palace with Princess Lingya.

She came to enjoy the show.

In her palm, she held a handful of sunflower seeds, just waiting for Li Ming’an to burst into tears to crack a few.

When Li Ming’an saw her, he felt even more unsettled.

Ever since Qi Yu ceased to be naive, it seemed as though things were increasingly slipping out of his control.

First, Li Mingjue inexplicably came back to life, then the Duke of Qin fell out with him, and later, millions of taels of gold and silver from Heifeng Village went missing.

Now, even the Prime Minister Residence was being played around by her.

Qi Yu was like a fog; no matter how close he got, he could never truly see her clearly.

Li Mingjue noticed Li Ming’an was constantly staring at Qi Yu and his face darkened.

He stepped forward a few steps and stood in front of Qi Yu, blocking Li Ming’an’s line of sight.

Qi Yu also felt that Li Ming’an’s gaze on her was somewhat inappropriate, but she did not think much of it.

After all, being looked at a few times wouldn’t cause her to lose a piece of flesh.

Even if Li Ming’an saw right through her, he could do nothing about it.

Li Tianze was already tired of these minor acts; he looked at Qiu Lian kneeling on the ground, his expression slightly impatient, "Qiu, stand up and speak."

If he couldn’t even interrogate a criminal, what use was he?

Qiu Lian only raised his head and did not dare to stand up.

He met Li Tianze’s gaze and said with a trembling voice, "Your Majesty, just now, I was interrogating the criminal in the Imperial Prison when this person claimed he was acting under... the orders of Prince An."

After saying this, his back was already soaked with sweat.

Li Tianze’s expression changed.

He rose to his feet, took a few steps beside the Dragon Chair, and then, staring at Heifeng, he asked in a cold voice, "Repeat it again, who directed you?"

Heifeng repeated the words he had said earlier in the Heavenly Prison.

He was like a puppet, his tone flat and his expression unchanging as he spoke.

Qi Yu watched in amazement and couldn’t help but whisper to Li Mingjue, "The witchcraft of Tulan is quite magical."

Her warm breath brushed against his ear, and Li Mingjue felt as though his entire body had heated up.

He quietly moved a bit away from her and shook his head slightly.

He glanced again at Li Tianze on the Dragon Chair.

The meaning was clear, now was not the time to talk.

Qi Yu pouted her lips. Boring, just like being in a class.

On the Dragon Chair, Li Tianze was so stunned by Heifeng’s words that he didn’t speak for a long while, unsure whether to look at Li Ming’an or Princess Lingya.

Li Ming’an knelt down and vehemently argued, "Father, I am wronged! I have never met this man, nor do I know who incited him to deliberately frame me!"

His tone was so confident it seemed as if he truly had nothing to do with this matter.

But aside from Li Tianze and Qiu Lian, the few others present already knew the truth of the matter.

Princess Lingya watched him act, a sneer forming silently in her heart.

A coward who dares not own up to his deeds.

She tightened her grip on the wind chime, shifting its direction.

At that moment, Heifeng, who had been hanging his head, brightened his pupils.

The fog in his eyes dissipated slightly, and he seemed to awaken from a deep sleep, somewhat bewilderedly looking at the scene before him.

Li Ming’an continued to vehemently deny any relations with Heifeng, unaware that Heifeng had regained consciousness.

And he heard everything he was saying.

When he had finished speaking passionately, Heifeng suddenly chuckled, his voice extremely light, yet strikingly jarring in the silent palace.

He lifted his chin and swept a mocking gaze over Li Ming’an, "Prince Ming’an, why hasten to disassociate yourself from me? There are some things you simply cannot deny."

Saying this, he glanced in the direction of Qi Yu and Li Mingjue.

The gold and silver that disappeared from Heifeng Village, as well as Song Ling, must be in their possession.

They had been enduring silently, not because they wanted to pocket the silver or were afraid to expose Li Ming’an.

They were waiting for an opportunity.

An opportunity to push Li Ming’an out while saving themselves.

Right now, he was that fuse; just one spark could blast Li Ming’an into oblivion.

Heifeng chuckled self-deprecatingly.

He had committed numerous wrongdoings with Li Ming’an and was now afflicted with witchcraft, a man soon to die.

He might as well tear open the heavens of the capital city, letting the violent storm come even fiercer.

Li Ming’an was so shocked by Heifeng’s words that he was rendered speechless.

He stepped forward, delivering a fierce kick to Heifeng, and seeing him fall to the ground, coughing up a mouthful of blood, his mood somewhat improved.

Qi Yu’s eyes chilled slightly, and just as Li Ming’an was about to kick for the second time, a silver needle shot from her sleeve, striking his leg.

A sharp pain radiated from Li Ming’an’s leg, and as he lifted it, it buckled suddenly, causing him to kneel on the ground, in a state of complete disarray.

Following the pain, he looked up to meet Qi Yu’s frost-filled eyes and, gasping for air, he said venomously, "Princess Qi is quite skilled, daring to scheme against me right in front of my father."
