Chapter 105: Chapter 105: There’s Something Wrong with This Silver
Dong Mei subconsciously wanted to avoid her gaze. Although Qi Yu was smiling, those clear eyes seemed capable of seeing right through her.
After weighing her options for a few seconds, she resolutely sold out Mrs. Wang and Qi Anran.
"Replying to the Princess, in the tea... the Madam asked me to add some sedatives," Dong Mei said.
The hand Qi Yu had on Dong Mei’s chin loosened, her eyes filled with frost.
This mother and daughter pair really were something, even thinking of drugging her.
The chill in Qi Yu’s eyes frightened Dong Mei into a cold sweat, and she pleaded in a low voice, "Princess, this was all commanded by the Madam and the young mistress; it has nothing to do with me!"
Qi Yu glanced at her, a flash of mockery in her gaze.
This face was not unfamiliar to her, as Dong Mei had often helped Qi Anran bully the original owner of her body back then.
Seeing Qi Yu silent, Dong Mei’s heart grew apprehensive.
Who would have thought that the silly and foolish second young mistress of the past would turn into the person she was now? Not to mention them, the servants, even the Madam and the young mistress had never gained any advantage over her.
Just as Dong Mei was nervously drumming her fingers, Qi Yu spoke up, "Since the tea is already prepared, we can’t waste the Madam’s kind intentions, can we?"
Hearing her meaningful words, Dong Mei’s eyes flickered as she asked, "What does the Princess mean?"
Qi Yu had her bring over two more teacups, and she poured half of the drugged tea from her own cup into each of the new ones.
Then, placing the now empty teacup at her side, she leaned on one hand, speaking in a languid tone, "Go and call your Madam and young mistress over. Tell them the Princess has already drunk the tea."
Hidden in the room, Mrs. Wang and Qi Anran were completely unaware of all this. The two waited for quite a while but did not see Dong Mei return.
"Mother, could something have happened?" Qi Anran was somewhat uneasy.
Mrs. Wang also felt that something was amiss. Just as she was about to go to the front hall to take a look, she saw Dong Mei hurry back, frowning as she said, "Why so slow?"
With her head lowered, Dong Mei replied somewhat guiltily, "Madam, the Princess has already fainted."
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Wang no longer cared why Dong Mei had taken so long. She quickly walked toward the front hall, her steps hastened.
Qi Anran followed behind her and, in their haste, they didn’t notice that Dong Mei had quietly slipped away.
In the front hall, Mrs. Wang came in and saw Qi Yu lying on the table, appearing to be unconscious.
She sneered coldly, "To dare to compete with me, truly overestimating yourself!"
Qi Anran cautiously approached and took a look, giving Qi Yu a push. Seeing no reaction, she quietly let down her guard.
"Mother, it seems this fool has fainted," she said.
Mrs. Wang then called for two nannies and instructed them to move the person to the neglected courtyard with weeds.
Lifting the teacup in front of her, she spoke with smugness, "Now, even if she grew wings, she couldn’t escape."
Qi Anran curled the corners of her lips into a slight smile, softly concurring, "Exactly, just kill this fool, and then Suiyu Pavilion will be ours!"
Both exchanged an unguarded smile and picked up the teacups nearby, each taking a sip.
In the backyard, just as the two nannies were about to toss Qi Yu into the small, dark room, they felt a numbness in their arms and instantly lost their strength.
In their shocked eyes, Qi Yu smiled and shook a silver needle, "If you don’t want to die, just stay quiet, okay?"
The two nannies didn’t dare to cry out, dragging their numbed hands as they begged for mercy, "Please spare us, Princess!"
Qi Yu stroked her chin, her face gleaming with a bright smile, "Back when I was still at the Prime Minister Residence, I was quite ’cared for’ by the nannies. Now that I am back, naturally, I should return the favor."
She then feigned worry, thinking aloud, "How about I send you both a ’full anesthesia package’?"
Although the two nannies could not understand her words, they knew that this was definitely not a good thing. They fiercely shook their heads, looking at her with faces full of suffering.
In this secluded little courtyard, Qi Yu held an acupuncture needle, advancing step by step towards the two nannies with ferocious faces.
Do they like giving acupuncture to the original owner?
Then let them have a taste of that sensation.
After all, she is a good doctor, this needle in her hand can not only cure illnesses and save people but can also kill without a trace.
However, she didn’t want to dirty her hands, so she very thoughtfully decided to give them a few needles, to let them sleep well.
"Ah!"
A wail echoed from the backyard, startling the birds in the trees, which flapped their wings and flew away.
Qi Yu looked at the people who had fallen to the ground, took out an alcohol wipe from her space, cleaned the acupuncture needle, and then placed it back into her mystical space.
Having dealt with these people here, she now headed to the front hall to see the scheming mother and daughter.
By now, they should be sleeping soundly too.
Entering the front hall, Qi Yu looked at Wang and Qi Anran, who were collapsed on the table, and smiled very lightly.
She found the storeroom keys on Wang, promptly emptied the silver, and moved it all into her space.
Before leaving, she did not forget to pick a few valuable antique vases from Wang’s room.
Then she took the items to the Suiyu Pavilion, where she displayed them openly and legitimately.
Seeing that Qi Yu had not returned for a long time, Song Ling was worried, but when he saw her return not only safe and sound but also with several vases, he asked curiously, "Did you steal these from the Prime Minister Residence?"
He didn’t believe for a second that the mother and daughter would allow her to take anything from the Prime Minister Residence.
The only possibility was that Qi Yu took them herself.
Qi Yu put down the vases and glanced at him upon hearing this, "Taking without asking is stealing, but I did consult them."
Even though both were already faint and muddled, they offered no response.
However, that didn’t prevent her from feeling perfectly justified in cleaning out the Prime Minister Residence of its valuable possessions.
Song Ling knew her well and immediately realized that something must have happened at the Prime Minister Residence.
But as long as she was unharmed, he couldn’t be bothered about anything else.
By the time they returned to the Prince Residence, it had already grown dark.
Li Mingjue had just left his study when he saw Qi Yu approaching from the direction of the back door. He stopped in his tracks and waited for her.
Qi Yu hummed a tune, quickening her steps until she reached him, then asked with a beaming smile, "Prince, were you waiting for me?"
Li Mingjue nodded, noticing her good mood, he slightly raised an eyebrow, "What good thing happened today?"
Whenever the Princess was happy, it surely meant someone was in for some serious misfortune.
Qi Yu had reaped a rich haul today and was eager to show off. She quickly pulled him back to their room, then took him into her mystical space.
She recounted the day’s events, her voice parchingly enthusiastic, and gesturing towards the several large chests of silver that had appeared out of nowhere, she said with a proud face, "These are my spoils of war from today."
Li Mingjue, however, listened with a furrowed brow.
He looked down for a moment and sensed something was off, speaking in a serious tone, "There is a problem with this silver."
