Chapter 936: Chapter 936 The Origin of the Xue Clan

"Don’t panic, don’t panic, things may not be as I described," Lord Xiong immediately appeased, which calmed Xue Wang down.

The other vampires, seeing that Xue Wang had decided not to take action, looked disappointed. Truth be told, they were eager to freely taste this truly eternal being.

Lord Xiong started to change the subject, "I don’t know what you’ve done, but it seems someone has taken notice of you and is inquiring about your whereabouts."

Upon hearing this, Xue Wang was shocked. He glanced at the other vampires, then saw his subordinates shaking their heads. Xue Wang frowned and said, "Lord Xiong, ever since we encountered you in the outer realms, we’ve followed your advice and haven’t caused any trouble. And because we’ve completely heeded your words, we’ve been delayed quite a bit. Otherwise, we would have already met up with another group that arrived in the Central Plains ahead of us."

Lord Xiong looked at the vampires’ expressions, all of them appearing very earnest, so he nodded, "Fine, I believe you. I just need to find out who is targeting you."

Xue Wang then asked another question, "Do you know who is inquiring about our movements? Do you know their identities or where they reside?"

Lord Xiong answered, "I don’t know who they are, but I know where they live. However, before we figure things out, don’t do anything rash. Leave everything to me."

"Alright, you have a saying here, ’The guest follows the host’s lead.’ I’ll listen to you," Xue Wang complied, naturally because there was something in it for him. If he could gain true eternal life, making a small concession was perfectly acceptable.

Actually, when Xue Wang encountered Lord Xiong in the outer realms, he had considered using force to coerce the truth about eternal life from him. However, after a bout of fighting, Xue Wang could not defeat Lord Xiong and, being no match in strength, had to opt for cooperation instead.

As for why Xue Wang didn’t visit the Central Plains at the agreed time, that was because Lord Xiong needed something—a map of the Triangle Sea Area, which he knew the Western Blood Clan possessed.

Therefore, Xue Wang sent someone back to the Western Blood Clan’s headquarters to retrieve the Triangle Sea Area map, which caused their delay. Otherwise, after their rendezvous with Xue Lang, it would have been a disaster for the martial arts world of the Central Plains.

Xue Wang was curious, "First, how did you know we were coming to the Central Plains in search of true eternal life and intercepted us halfway? Second, how did you know we had the map of the Triangle Sea Area?"

"First off, I can’t tell you how I knew, but I can only say that I have a wise man guiding me from behind. Second, I can tell you that I know far more than just this. The map of the Triangle Sea Area you have now is not the only copy; your family has already sent many people out to explore the Triangle Sea Area with another copy of the map," Lord Xiong revealed, to the great surprise of Xue Wang.

Thereupon, Xue Wang shook his head and smirked bitterly, "I hadn’t expected you to know so much. You really are becoming more and more complicated."

Back then, in the West, there was a family called the X Family, who, like the Eternal Life Clan in the East, were searching for the secret to eternal life. Almost at the same time the Eternal Life Clan found ancient Super Civilization relics on Yuxueyun Mountain, the Western X Family also made a discovery—they found another ancient Super Civilization relic beneath the earth.

The X Family discovered a method for eternal life in the ancient Super Civilization and then they became vampires, obtaining the immortality they so desired, yet they could not see the sun.

Upon further research, the X Family realized that this way of achieving eternal life was a discarded method of the ancient Super Civilization, and that better methods were hidden within other relics of the ancient civilization.

The X Family found a map that recorded the locations of three ancient Super Civilization research centers for eternal life—one in the sea, another in the mountains.

However, the era of the ancient Super Civilization was so distant that the continental drift had significantly altered the landscape, river systems, and mountains. Consequently, the map from the ancient civilization greatly differed from the world map as known to the contemporary X Family.

After conducting research, the X Family first pinpointed that the location of the ancient Super Civilization relic in the sea was approximately in the Triangle Sea Area. Thus, they sent a contingent of the X Family to search for it, including Xue Wang’s daughter Lisa, but this group never returned.

Later, as too many people of the X Family had turned into vampires, developing a thirst for blood, they renamed themselves the Xue Clan. Since vampires were unable to reproduce, some members of the X Family who had not been transformed into vampires were tasked with continuing to marry and bear children.

Thus, the X Family split into two groups—one was the Xue Clan, and the other remained human. For unified governance, by the time of Gu Fan’s era, they reorganized themselves into Organization X.

People like Helen were ordinary members of Organization X, while Xue Lang belonged to the vampire faction of Organization X. Both Helen and Xue Lang originated from the same family.

Later, in order to expand Organization X’s power, in addition to ordinary members of the Xue Clan, the organization recruited some non-clan ordinary people to work for them. And within the Xue Clan, in addition to vampires of X Family bloodline, they also transformed some vampires who did not share their family bloodline.

To put it simply, only those with X Family blood, whether they were ordinary people or vampires, held noble status within Organization X. Hence, although Helen was an ordinary person, because she had the blood of the X Family, she was considered a noble within Organization X. No matter how much she made a scene, even the vampires couldn’t treat her lightly.

As for the location of the ancient Super Civilization in the mountains, Xue Wang and his group had never been able to identify. Just when they were about to give up, they received a letter claiming that the last ancient Super Civilization research center dedicated to eternal life was located in the Central Plains.

Although the Xue Clan was skeptical about this letter, feeling there was something fishy about it, they still decided to risk giving it a try, and thus the Xue Clan promptly selected their elite troops and divided them into two groups to advance into the Central Plains.

Now it seems that this letter was sent by this Lord Xiong. But just who is Lord Xiong, and why does he know of the Xue Clan’s existence and what they are searching for?

During this time, Xue Wang had been observing Lord Xiong closely, trying to discern whatever secrets the man held hidden within him.

Truth be told, having been in contact for so long, Xue Wang always felt an inscrutability about Lord Xiong, which made him restless, unsure of Lord Xiong’s intentions and where he might be leading them.

However, the Xue Clan’s desire for true eternal life was too intense. Even if they knew that Lord Xiong might have dug a pit for them, the Xue Clan was still eager to try it out, if for nothing else, then for the chance to stand under the sun again and feel its warmth.
