Chapter 931: Chapter 931 Living Together in One Room
It was deep into the night, and all was quiet. Gu Fan tossed and turned, unable to sleep because Mo Yun, on the bed beside him, was snoring so loudly it shook the heavens, rendering sleep impossible for Gu Fan.
"Oh my God, such a beautiful woman and yet she snores louder than a man. What kind of misfortune have I committed to encounter such a person?" Gu Fan couldn’t help but sigh. Finally unable to fall asleep, he got up to stretch his legs.
Walking onto the deserted streets, Gu Fan just wandered aimlessly, taking the opportunity to ponder over the troubling issues at hand.
In these times, killings in the Martial Arts world were quite common. Gu Fan’s encounter with Mo Yun meant he was now involved in this world, which meant that without the ability to protect himself, there was likely to be danger...
"Forget it, I have the Destiny Stone Body Guard, which is the most powerful Martial Arts." Speaking of Martial Arts, Gu Fan couldn’t help but pull out the secret script of Martial Arts he’d picked up earlier and studied it carefully.
The technique was named Vajra Body Protection, which from the name alone suggested training one’s body to become impervious to blades and spears. Gu Fan thought it seemed quite useful; even if he couldn’t win a fight, it would still be excellent for protecting his life.
As Gu Fan walked, he scrutinized the script, and just when he was deeply engrossed, a group of people appeared in front of him, each draped in a cloak and hood, faces covered, giving off a mysterious air.
"Strange? Why are there so many people out this late?" Gu Fan grew wary as he brushed past them.
In an instant, Gu Fan began to ponder why they were out so late; the city gates had closed earlier, and they shouldn’t have been able to come in if they were late. If they had arrived before the gates closed, then what were they doing out at this hour?
Gu Fan couldn’t help but look back at the group and noticed one of them seemed to be observing him as well.
"Is there a problem?" For some reason, Gu Fan had a bad feeling, as if he was being targeted by a wild beast, making him feel uneasy all over.
One of the men gave his companion a pat, signaling him not to pay any more attention to Gu Fan.
Suddenly, the group stopped walking simultaneously, then all turned to look back at Gu Fan; the dim light along with their hoods hiding their faces made it impossible for Gu Fan to see them clearly.
"You’ve got to be kidding me," thought Gu Fan, realizing he had become their target, so he quickly quickened his pace, trying to escape.
Suddenly, a stern voice called out, "Kid, you sure made us look hard for you."
The voice came from two men on the rooftop, one fat and one thin, who had tracked both Mo Yun and Gu Fan all the way here, finally finding them in this place after a long journey.
"Who are you?" Gu Fan was perplexed, having never seen the two men, one fat and one thin before.
In response, the fat man explained, "You don’t know us, and we don’t know you, but there is something on you that belongs to us, and that is the secret script of Martial Arts in your hand. Just hand it over nicely, and nothing will happen tonight."
"The secret script of Martial Arts, is it this thing?" Gu Fan took a good look at the item in his hand, then resolutely shook his head, "Sorry, my principle is, whoever finds it, keeps it."
The thin man became a little angry, "I see, you don’t plan to hand it over. In that case, we will have to use force." After saying that, the thin man glanced at the group of people in cloaks and shouted, "This doesn’t concern you. Be smart and leave now."
The cloaked figures hesitated briefly, then stepped back a bit to clear an area for the combatants.
"No way, these two must be experts," Gu Fan realized he definitely could not beat them—just seeing their stance on the rooftop was proof enough—and yet Gu Fan couldn’t just give up the secret script of Martial Arts.
Moreover, Gu Fan noticed that those wearing cloaks seemed to be watching the tigers fight from the mountain, a cause for concern as well.
"Looks like you’re going from drinking a toast to drinking a penalty," the fat man and the skinny man leaped down from the rooftop simultaneously and charged at Gu Fan together.
"Oh my God!" When Gu Fan saw their fearsome momentum as they jumped down, he didn’t dare to just stand there like a fool waiting to be attacked; he beat a hasty retreat, deliberately heading toward those in cloaks.
One of the cloaked figures saw through his plan: "This kid, trying to use others to reveal our identities, wishful thinking." With that, the person made a pushing motion with their palm.
Before Gu Fan could understand what was happening, he saw a swift shadow rush to his front, followed immediately by a sensation of being struck hard. Gu Fan was sent flying.
That blow had come from so close that Gu Fan saw clearly what the cloak-wearing person who hit him looked like—an Eastern face.
"It’s an Easterner, not a Western vampire?" Gu Fan had worried his luck was so poor that he’d run into a second group of Western vampires so soon, but it turned out to be an Easterner.
However, to verify all this, Gu Fan took quite a hit from that palm; he was sent flying straight into the fat man and the skinny man, the impact was so strong it sent both of them sprawling.
"Oh my God; are these the real Martial Arts experts? So strong, really so strong." Gu Fan lay on the ground, feeling pain all over, but he still forcibly propped himself up and saw those in hooded cloaks walking away.
Only Gu Fan and the fat and skinny men were left on the scene, the situation still disadvantageous for Gu Fan.
"Kid, there’s no way you can escape today, just accept your fate," the skinny man attacked first, his movements swift, his claws flying, formidable in their lethality.
Gu Fan, relying on the skill he had honed, dodged left and right, barely avoiding the initial onslaught, but his shoulder was still clawed, immediately bleeding profusely and causing him intense pain.
The fat man chose his moment, then made a charging gesture. With a push from his feet, he surged forward like a giant iron mass, his steps booming as he forcefully barged in.
"You can’t be serious!" Gu Fan had no room to dodge and could only brace himself for the impact of the hefty body.
Just like that, with that one hit, Gu Fan couldn’t resist at all; he was sent flying an immeasurable distance, landing on the ground in excruciating pain, feeling like his body was falling apart.
"What the heck, we thought we had an expert here, expecting it to be tough, only to find a nobody," the fat man and the skinny man looked disappointed and taunted, "Kid, you seemed pretty tough before, I thought you had some skills, but turns out it was all talk."
"Sorry to disappoint, but I still won’t hand over the script to you two," Gu Fan refused to submit, always believing in his trump card, the Destiny Stone, that it wouldn’t let him fall in this place. So he decided to fight to the bitter end.
