Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 859: Living Under the Same Roof

Chapter 859: Chapter 859: Living Under the Same Roof

"Helen?" Su Hui looked at Gu Fan with a puzzled face, and Gu Fan showed an embarrassed expression.

"Who’s that, bro, you made a new friend? And it’s a woman. How do you know her? Taking advantage while Sister Lin Xi is not around, you’re messing around." Gu Ling bombarded him with questions that sounded very unpleasant, and Gu Fan rushed to explain, "It’s not what you guys are thinking, I had no choice."

Su Hui and Gu Ling both looked unconvinced, immediately making Gu Fan feel helpless and he sighed silently, being under the same roof, why is there not even a bit of basic trust?

Helen, who had been waiting outside for a long time and had been knocking for ages, started to realize that the door was unlikely to open for her, so she got huffy and started yelling, "Gu Fan, I know you’re home, you’re not opening the door for me, huh? Obviously, you don’t consider me a friend. Fine then, we’re enemies. I’m going to have a squad with submachine guns come and riddle your house with bullets."

Upon hearing this, Gu Fan quickly opened the door, then no matter how astonished Helen was, he just pulled her into the house.

"Why are you so rough!" Helen hurriedly shook off Gu Fan’s arm, then saw Su Hui’s hostile look, but Helen still greeted her with a smile, "Hello, we’ve met before, back then we were enemies, but there are no eternal enemies, right? Now Gu Fan and I have turned hostility into friendship—this is rare, isn’t it?"

Su Hui coldly said, "What are you doing here?"

"Looks like I’m not very welcome, but that’s okay. Gu Fan is the master of this house. If Gu Fan welcomes me, that’s enough. I don’t need your approval." After saying that, Helen looked at Gu Fan with an expectant gaze.

Gu Fan scratched his head. Actually, he didn’t welcome Helen’s visit either, but he had no choice. Just thinking about a bunch of submachine gunners storming in and disturbing the neighbors was more than he could bear.

Su Hui was unreserved, "Forcing Gu Fan to open the door for you like that, what kind of friend are you?"

"Aw, but don’t you also bully Gu Fan with force?" Helen’s question left Su Hui speechless, and then Su Hui looked at Gu Fan, and Gu Fan was stunned as well.

This was Helen’s explanation, "Qiao Ya told me, he spent some time with you guys and knows that you, Su Hui, love to bully Gu Fan."

Hearing this, Gu Fan felt very embarrassed and immediately explained, "It’s not bullying, it’s just playful teasing among friends. This is how I communicate with Su Hui. It’s normal for us."

"Oh right, this special way of communicating, why is it always Su Hui beating you up, and not you ever hitting her?" Helen’s question really hit Gu Fan right in the feels.

Su Hui began to show her out, "Alright, you’ve been here, now you can leave, right?"

"Leave, where would I go? I’ve come to a strange place, all alone with no one to rely on. Isn’t there a saying, friends are your lifeline when you are away from home? I’ve come to seek refuge with Gu Fan." When Helen said this, she looked completely justified, even making a call in front of Gu Fan to have all her luggage delivered.

"You’re not serious, are you?" Both Gu Fan and Su Hui were surprised, and seeing Helen’s nod, they realized she was serious about moving in.

Gu Fan immediately objected, "Hold on, Helen, I haven’t agreed yet."

"No worries, I’ll take it as a yes," Helen said with ease, but Gu Fan looked distressed, "Helen, are you so sure I’ll take you in?"

Helen nodded, "Of course, if you don’t agree, I’ll find a way to make you agree. Like, I could have my subordinates throw grenades into your house every day."

"Alright, alright, you win, you can stay," Gu Fan finally gave in out of fear.

"Great, thank you, Gu Fan, I knew you wouldn’t disappoint me," Helen feigned gratitude and then started to explore the old house.

Su Hui couldn’t stand it anymore, "Hold on, Helen, if you’re settling in, there have to be ground rules."

"Don’t call me Helen; I have a Chinese name. Call me Gu Wei." After saying that, Helen rushed upstairs.

Gu Fan, concerned, followed her up, only to find Helen staring at a room’s door, completely transfixed as if the door was drawing her in.

"What’s up?" asked Gu Fan curiously, his arrival interrupting Helen’s reverie.

Helen pointed at the door that had distracted her and said, "I’ll live in this one."

"Okay, sure!" Gu Fan thought that since there were plenty of rooms in the house and this one was vacant, he might as well let Helen have it.

However, the lock on the door had never been changed, and there was a peculiar way to open it: grip the handle, lift it forcibly upward, and the door would swing open automatically.

Gu Fan had intended to clue Helen in, but Helen just grabbed the door handle, lifted, and the door opened for her, making her very pleased with herself. Then, she stepped into the room.

Gu Fan was left dumbfounded; he had yet to say a thing, and Helen had already figured out how to open the door. She must be incredibly lucky.

"No, it’s not that simple..." Gu Fan initially thought Helen was moving in to keep an eye on him, just as he intended to keep an eye on her, but now he had a premonition that Helen had other motives for moving in.

While Gu Fan was pondering, Helen suddenly came out of the room and said to him cheerfully, "Oh, by the way, my luggage will arrive soon; could you help me with it? You know, it’s not suitable for girls to do heavy lifting."

"Of course!" Gu Fan nodded with a smile, thinking since she just arrived in town, she wouldn’t have much to move.

When the luggage arrived, Gu Fan was dumbstruck by the sheer volume, piled up almost like a little mountain. It didn’t look like she planned a short stay; it was clear she intended to stay permanently.

Seeing Gu Fan’s troubled expression, Su Hui kindly advised, "Gu Fan, it’s easy to invite trouble but hard to send it away, you’re going to have a lot of headaches in the future."

"Don’t say another word; I’m already regretting it," Gu Fan shook his head with a sigh. He couldn’t understand what Helen was thinking, how could she so brazenly move into an enemy’s home? Isn’t she afraid at all?

No, without absolute confidence, Gu Fan believed Helen wouldn’t take such a huge risk. Was she convinced that she could be of help to Gu Fan, so they could cooperate, or did Helen think Gu Fan wouldn’t harm her?

"My goodness, this is totally off the wall," Gu Fan couldn’t guess what she was thinking, but for some reason, he didn’t feel panicky or uneasy at all; he even had a hunch that having Helen move in might not be a bad thing after all.
