Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 828 The Convoy is Intercepted

Chapter 828: Chapter 828 The Convoy is Intercepted

Ten trucks lined up like a dragon, sorely conspicuous as they moved along the highway, but Gu Fan paid it no mind; he believed he had left the city undetected as if he were invisible to the gods. He trusted that his enemies still thought he was within the city walls, perhaps even frantically searching for him without rest.

"Ah, freedom is so sweet." Gu Fan rolled down the window, then reveled in the breeze, gradually feeling more at ease in his heart.

Unbeknownst to them, as night fell, the Haiyan Gang’s convoy continued its journey. They had received orders to press on day and night without stopping, to hasten to the port since being discovered would mean big trouble and inevitably lead to a shootout.

The Haiyan Gang didn’t want to end up like the Fat Tiger Gang, which had only a few members left in the end, so they took this matter very seriously.

At that moment, two trucks approached from the opposite direction. Such a sight had become common, and nobody gave it much thought; Gu Fan was even about to close his eyes and rest.

Suddenly, one of the oncoming trucks appeared to malfunction, swerving towards the very center of the Haiyan Gang’s formation and crashing into one of their vehicles, causing it to lose direction and violently flip over.

This sudden racket and turn of events instantly woke Gu Fan, while other vehicles from the Haiyang Gang also came to a halt. Some of the members even got out of their vehicles wanting to check the situation, but Su Hui saw through the ruse—the truck from moments ago had intentionally rammed into them, meaning...

"Trouble, everyone stay put and don’t move," Su Hui yelled just as the other truck came to a stop, and its cargo area opened to reveal a large number of the Black Night Gang members who, without a second thought, began firing at the Haiyan Gang’s trucks and people.

This happened so abruptly that the Haiyan Gang was caught off guard, and several of them were hit by bullets. They fell to the ground, writhing and howling in pain.

Seeing the number of assailants and the firepower the Black Night Gang had, Gu Fan and Su Hui felt a chill in their hearts, The timing of the attack was perfect; the assailants had divided the Haiyan Gang by striking in the middle of their convoy.

The front and rear halves of the convoy were cut off from each other, which made Gu Fan very anxious, and he had a bad feeling that things could get even worse.

As expected, vehicles from the Black Night Gang appeared from behind, and more from the front. They got out, weapons aimed at the convoy, seeming intent on wiping them out in one fell swoop.

Of course, the Haiyan Gang wasn’t helpless either. They quickly stabilized their formation, and with the leadership of several group leaders, they began to return fire. However, they were spread out across several trucks, unable to organize an effective counterattack in the heat of the moment.

In contrast, the strategy of the Black Night Gang was much more effective. They had cut through the middle of the Haiyan Gang’s convoy and then blocked both the front and the rear, beginning to eliminate the Haiyan Gang’s vehicles one by one, step by step.

After knocking out the people from the first truck, the Black Night Gang advanced to attack the second truck. At the same time, their members who had launched an assault from the rear also did the same, gradually squeezing the living space of Gu Fan and the Haiyan Gang.

Su Hui grabbed her gun and then got out of the vehicle; she had already seen the Haiyan Gang being pushed back, knowing it would only be a matter of time before they couldn’t hold on anymore.

An idea struck her and Su Hui climbed to the top of the truck. Fighting from a higher vantage point, she had a clear view and a dominant shooting position. She shot several Black Night Gang members and stalled their offensive.

Gaining a slight advantage, Su Hui decided to withdraw while she was ahead, quickly laying low to avoid becoming an easy target. Simultaneously, she carefully moved to the edge, cautiously peeking out to assess the situation outside, only to discover several Black Night Gang members under the truck, guns aimed at her location.

"Oh my God!" Su Hui quickly rolled over, narrowly avoiding being hit, her heart pounding with the close call. She no longer had time to contemplate how the Black Night Gang knew her exact location.

Logically speaking, Su Hui was lying on top of the cargo truck, and those standing below couldn’t see her—it was impossible for them to know her position.

Yet the Black Night Gang did it, and not just once. They had people positioned on both sides of the truck. Whenever Su Hui moved forward, they moved forward; when she moved back, they moved back. Several times, when Su Hui tried to break out, she was nearly hit by enemies lying in wait for a long time.

"Impossible, how could this be?" Su Hui couldn’t believe it, feeling as though her every move was being completely monitored.

At this moment, Gu Fan noticed Su Hui was in trouble. He and a few members of the Haiyan Gang came to the rescue, only to find that the Black Night Gang seemed to have anticipated their arrival, already prepared on the route they would appear.

Luckily, Gu Fan dodged just in time; otherwise, he would have been shot the moment he showed himself. It was incredibly risky—his heart rate was not to be mentioned.

Su Hui took a deep breath and decided to take a risk. She stood up on the bed of the cargo truck and sprinted forward, leaping to the gap between the cargo hold and the cab. Glancing at the rearview mirror on the cab, she saw that the Black Night Gang members were moving towards the front of the truck, but they were still pointing their guns upwards, seemingly unaware Su Hui had already jumped down.

This was her chance. Su Hui quickly counterattacked, displaying her marksman skills, taking down the Black Night Gang members one by one, swiftly and efficiently.

However, Su Hui had only taken care of the enemies on the right side of the truck. Those on the left quickly reached the front of the truck, but it was a step too late—Su Hui had already run to the right side and even picked up the weapons of the enemies she had just knocked down, one of them being a machine gun.

At this very moment, the front half of the convoy had been wiped out by the Black Night Gang, who were planning to go around the two trucks that had collided in the middle.

In the latter half of the convoy, thanks to Su Hui’s commendable performance—taking out many of the Black Night Gang members—they were now playing a game of hide and seek with the remaining members. Su Hui, through the walkie-talkie, instructed Gu Fan to watch out for enemies ahead, while she would take care of those behind them.

Gu Fan confirmed it was no problem. He and the remaining Haiyan Gang members gathered together, changing the orientation of several trucks and laying them randomly across the road, like a series of defensive lines.

Gu Fan’s palms were sweaty as he intently watched for any movement ahead, his breath and heartbeat uncontrollarily accelerating, his entire body trembling.

The Black Night Gang, using a vehicle collision, had rammed one big cargo truck into another, splitting Gu Fan’s convoy into two. Having dealt with the first half of the Haiyan Gang, they were now moving past the blocked middle area,

but no sooner had the Black Night Gang emerged than they nearly got shot. Gu Fan and his people held their ground firmly, prepared to resist till the end.

Yet Gu Fan was surprised to see members of the Black Night Gang briefly poke their heads out, then quickly pull back, as if they knew someone was aiming at them, ready to dodge preemptively.

It was during this time that several members of the Haiyan Gang were discussing strategies, their focus slipping momentarily, resulting in the Black Night Gang members popping out and opening fire, nearly hitting the Haiyan Gang members.

Gu Fan also nearly got hit, breaking out in a cold sweat, astonished at how the Black Night Gang could so precisely time their moves. It was as if they had some sort of cheat enabling them to seize the perfect moment.
