Chapter 825: Chapter 825 We’ve Met Before

"You’re asking for death!" Qian Ye was furious, and a palm strike sent a Strong Wind raging, blasting away the assailant who had just attacked her.

With a loud crash, that person flew backward, slamming heavily into the wall. However, as if nothing had happened, the person slowly got up and stood rigidly facing Qian Ye.

Because of the dark surroundings, Qian Ye couldn’t see clearly what the person looked like or what expression they wore, but she was certain of one thing; it was a human.

"How is it you, Qian Ye!" The person uttered the name, a tinge of confusion in their tone.

Qian Ye was shocked. There weren’t many people in this era who knew her true identity. Why did this person know, and what was their background? Qian Ye felt a chill creep over her.

The person shook their head: "No, that’s not right, you’re not Qian Ye, you just happen to look like her."

After a moment of silence, the person spoke again: "But you cast spells as aggressively as Qian Ye, and the method is quite similar. To me, you feel like Qian Ye, but it’s impossible for you to have lived this long."

Qian Ye didn’t answer but tried to flee. She didn’t know what kind of background this person had, but it was certainly not simple, and likely far beyond what she could handle.

The person laughed coldly: "So, I’m Qian Ye, right? Although I don’t know what happened to you that allowed you to live until now, I’m glad. The injuries Jian Shen and you inflicted on me back in the day—I can finally get my revenge."

At that moment, the lights came on, and Qian Ye could clearly see the assailant. The face of a Westerner with fierce eyes, his chest exposed, revealing sturdy muscles and a scar.

"Remember this scar?" The person’s eyes filled with resentment, teeth clenched in anger as they spoke: "Jian Shen wounded me with a single strike, then you cast a spell on my wound, making me endure the pain of this scar every day. Every single day—do you know how I have survived day by day?"

Qian Ye was confounded. She didn’t remember joining forces with Jian Shen to fight against anyone, especially someone with a Western face.

Just as Qian Ye was about to ask more, the person went on: "Since you’ve lived until this era, then what about Jian Shen? Is he still alive too? That would be perfect. I will make both of you pay for the pain you’ve caused me."

Qian Ye stayed silent, offered no answer, and watched as the person smirked before turning and leaving. They moved as quickly as the wind, bursting outside in a flash.

"How odd, who is this guy? It seems he has encountered me a hundred years ago, but I don’t recall ever meeting a person with a Western face. He even says he was injured by Jian Shen and me, but that never happened." Qian Ye couldn’t stop pondering, feeling that something was amiss.

Qian Ye thought it could be an incident that hadn’t yet happened, one she had not yet experienced, just like that cursed ancient town. Suddenly, a possibility struck her, turning her pale with shock. What if it wasn’t Jian Shen and her who had done that? What if it was someone who looked exactly like her?

"Lin Xi, what on earth did you do in ancient times?" Qian Ye was growing worried now, as Lin Xi’s actions in the past might very well affect the present.

Ten minutes later, Helen was waiting impatiently on the agreed rooftop. Using her binoculars to watch the Black Night Gang’s headquarters, she could tell that the mission had failed as people were still coming out alive.

Suddenly, three figures arrived silently behind her, their footsteps so light they were nearly inaudible until they let out a chuckle, alerting Helen who turned around to face them with a frown: "What’s the meaning of this, you three? Didn’t you promise me an effective operation? Why are the Black Night Gang members still alive?"

One of them replied, "Because that person is not easy to deal with, we underestimated her strength."

Helen was skeptical: "Is it that you underestimated her strength, or did you overestimate your own, Xue Lang?"

Offended by this unpleasant remark, Xue Lang was furious and rushed up to Helen, grabbing her by the throat, lifting her up, and hissing, "Don’t think that just because your grandfather protects you, you can do whatever you want in the organization. Don’t forget, your grandfather is still an outsider, and the organization might dispose of him at any time."

Helen sneered coldly: "Well then, I’ll tell my grandfather what you’ve just said and see what he thinks about it—whether he may decide to dispose of you first."

"Little girl, you try to command us without any real skill, and now you threaten me? Do you believe I can make it so you can’t speak ever again?" Xue Lang was seething, looking like he was ready to do some serious harm.

But Helen was fearless: "Go ahead, make your move. I am one of the family’s heirs, and one of your missions was to protect me. If anything happens to me, you won’t be able to explain it to the family."

"Damn it!" Xue Lang was enraged, but he truly didn’t dare to make a move.

At that moment, Xue Hu stepped forward, patted Xue Lang on the shoulder, and said, "Enough. Let’s put an end to this. We are all here for the sake of the family."

Taking in these words, Xue Lang released Helen, though he was not happy about it: "She counts as a member of the family? She carries one-fourth Eastern bloodline, which isn’t the same as our pure Western lineage. I don’t acknowledge that."

Helen casually retorted, "But it’s precisely because of that bit of Eastern blood that the chances of conversion are higher. Hence, my father and I are precious to both the family and the organization."

Xue Ying also approached, smiling lightly, "Right, right, right, you are our precious gem. We cherish you too much to hurt you. Xue Lang was just a bit impulsive just now; don’t hold it against him. He’s not angry at you, but because he encountered an old enemy."

Helen was puzzled: "What old enemy? Don’t you deal with anyone who offends you?"

To that, Xue Lang let out a bitter smile: "I thought this enemy of mine had vanished into history, but it turns out she, like myself, has survived to this era." He glanced toward the direction of the Black Night Gang’s headquarters after speaking.

"What do you mean?" Helen was confused, but felt that this failed operation must be connected to the enemy Xue Lang was talking about.

Xue Lang pointed to the scar on his body: "You know the story behind this scar, don’t you? Our physique, no matter what injuries we sustain, we should be able to recover, but this scar persists and pains me daily."

Helen nodded: "I have heard about your experience, how you traveled to ancient Eastern lands and encountered two formidable individuals there, a man and a woman. It was they who wounded you, and this scar has something to do with them."

"Exactly. And that woman is still alive. I just saw her," Xue Lang declared, his gaze once again filled with
