Chapter 824: Chapter 824 Dark Hunt

That night, Qian Ye had just put on a mask, intended to hide her identity, her initial focus was on how to find Gu Fan’s trace.

Then she looked at the online news, frowning deeply, because the manner in which those of the Black Night Gang were killed was almost identical to what had happened in the ancient village of Qian Ye in the past.

Could it be the same group of people? The problem was that several hundred years had passed. Qian Ye was puzzled, and after much thought, still felt that finding Gu Fan was the top priority, so she ordered her subordinates to be cautious and to find the target within three days.

When the latest news broke, an entire residential building had fallen victim, and now the city was in a state of panic, necessitating Qian Ye’s attention, because it seemed beyond the capability of ordinary people.

Qian Ye glanced at her subordinates. They all showed signs of fear, seemingly afraid to go out at night; it was truly too dangerous outside now.

Therefore, Qian Ye decided to watch another night to see the situation and then formulate a new plan. If it was indeed very dangerous outside, then it would be the same for Gu Fan. Qian Ye didn’t believe Gu Fan would take such a risk at this time.

As night fell, Qian Ye stayed in the living room, discussing matters with a few important subordinates when suddenly all the lights in the mansion went out, plunging the surroundings into darkness.

A sense of unease spread. Qian Ye frowned and then stood up. She could hear a whooshing sound made by something rapidly moving past; she knew something was coming.

"Everybody, get ready," Qian Ye barely finished speaking into the walkie-talkie when a guard’s scream was heard outside the mansion, followed by the sound of gunfire. But it was useless; another scream ensued.

No one knew what was happening outside the mansion, but screams and gunshots continued unabated, like a one-sided slaughter, making those hiding inside extremely tense. They could even hear some excited, yet low-pitched roars.

Moments later, there was silence outside the mansion. No more wails, no gunfire, it was as if everything had ended, which only added to the unease.

Qian Ye’s mansion was large with three floors and housed many people to protect her. Now the Black Night Gang members were wielding weapons, all aiming at the main door, holding their breaths, not daring to even breathe heavily.

Suddenly, a noise of something breaking a window upstairs indicated something had broken in from above, increasing the tension even more.

Seeing her subordinates terrified, and knowing the importance of their safety, Qian Ye cast a spell and placed a protective talisman on each of her most important core members.

Just then, something whooshed past Qian Ye’s left side and snatched away a person, who let out a scream before vanishing into the darkness.

A few gunshots rang out in the darkness, then all was quiet, like the struggle of the dying, leaving everyone in the room terrified and trembling.

"What’s there to be afraid of, group in threes, back-to-back," Qian Ye said, and the Black Night Gang members immediately sprang into action, grouping into threes as instructed by Qian Ye, protecting and relying on each other.

But it was no use. A figure whooshed through the darkness, sending one group of three tumbling, then grabbed someone by the ankle and dragged them away.

Fearful screams and frantic struggles. Hands reached out wildly, clawing at nothing, but it was futile, and still they were dragged into the darkness.

Almost simultaneously, on the other side of Qian Ye, a trio was attacked. This time, a core member was the target. However, thanks to the protective talisman, this member narrowly escaped death. The creature that attacked him was repelled by the power of the protective talisman and fled into the darkness with a strange cry after being thrown back.

The strategy of sticking together in threes didn’t work for Qian Ye’s group. The creatures in the darkness moved everywhere, using the dark as cover; they appeared and vanished without a trace, powerful and relentless, carrying people off one by one.

Finally, under the dominion of fear, most of the Black Night Gang members crumbled in terror. They opened the door, attempting to flee the place, and Qian Ye was too late to stop them.

Yet, running outside didn’t mean safety—in fact, the outside might have been even more dangerous. After these people ran out and saw corpses all over the ground, they were absolutely petrified.

Qian Ye watched her subordinates panic and flee for their lives indifferently, listening to the screams without a flicker of emotion, as if it had nothing to do with her. She needed to concentrate on every small movement around her, knowing that the creatures of the darkness would surely find her.

And sure enough, Qian Ye felt a breeze behind her, as if something had pounced. But Qian Ye had already set up a Protective Barrier, repelling the creature of the dark.

As time passed, everyone’s eyes gradually adjusted to the darkness, and they could finally discern the silhouettes in the dark, which were completely human in shape.

"Here it comes!" Qian Ye sensed another attack. This time, she was ready to take action. She formed a seal with her hands, and a Strong Wind burst from her palms, spreading out and blowing away the Black Night Gang along with those mysterious creatures, pinning them all against the wall with the powerful gusts.

However, the Black Night Gang was just a group of ordinary people; they couldn’t resist the force of Qian Ye’s wind. They were pressed honestly against the wall, unable to move. But the creatures were strong enough to break free from the wind’s hold, though their movements were somewhat slowed.

"Somewhat capable, but not enough!" Qian Ye was unimpressed. With a twirl of her hands, a whirlwind swept through the inside of the house, picking up the mysterious creatures, whipping them helplessly around the room.

"Maybe you’re formidable, but you messed with the wrong person." Qian Ye used her supernatural power to twist and turn the creatures in the air while manipulating the wind to sweep up all the furniture in the house and hurl it at them.

The mysterious creatures fell to the ground, followed by pieces of furniture crashing down on them. Under Qian Ye’s control, these creatures seemed to pose no threat whatsoever.

"Alright, let’s see what you really are." As soon as Qian Ye finished speaking, she gestured to her subordinates to move forward, toward the heap of smashed furniture.

However, the Black Night Gang was too frightened to approach quickly, inching forward step by step with trembling hands holding their guns.

Just as everyone’s attention was focused on the pile of furniture, suddenly, a figure burst into the room from outside, heading straight for Qian Ye.

"Damn it!" Qian Ye realized her oversight too late, quickly cast a spell, and a Strong Wind erupted, but it was too late—the wind barely slowed the attacker’s advance.

A sharp claw swiped past Qian Ye’s face, missing her, but knocking off Qian Ye’s mask instead.
