Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 802: What a Coincidence

Chapter 802: Chapter 802: What a Coincidence

After some discussion, even though it was risky, Su Hui eventually approved Gu Fan’s plan after all they had been through. The next issue was how to find the gang.

Originally, David had opposed the plan, thinking it was complete madness, but Gu Fan had David compare it to that time in the Triangle Sea Area and asked which was more chaotic.

So David thought it over carefully and then stopped opposing Gu Fan’s proposal.

For safety’s sake, Gu Fan had David stay at the hotel, while he and Su Hui went out to try their luck; they might just come across a somewhat reasonable gang.

Thus, Gu Fan and Su Hui left the hotel, walking down the empty streets, and after only a few steps, they heard gunfire not far away.

Gu Fan headed towards the direction of the gunfire. Su Hui followed with a wry smile and asked, "Gu Fan, are you really not afraid at all?"

"Afraid? Of course, I am. But you’ve heard the news too, those gang shoot-outs, the dead and injured are all gangsters, with no civilian casualties." Gu Fan dared to seek out these gangs for business precisely because of this. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have gone near them.

Su Hui thought this made sense. Gang shoot-outs were ultimately about profits and turf, with no reason to harm civilians. Plus, Gu Fan had said he had measures to turn danger into safety.

As they walked, Gu Fan and Su Hui entered a small alley and saw a few people kneeling on the ground in a state of panic, with money in their hands and blood on the ground, apparently gang members.

When these people saw Gu Fan and Su Hui, they immediately became vigilant, pointing guns at them and asking, "Who are you?"

"Don’t shoot, we’re just passing through." Gu Fan quickly took out his prepared wallet and threw it to the gang members.

The gang members picked up the wallet, looked it over, and then one of them gestured for Gu Fan and Su Hui to hurry over.

Gu Fan and Su Hui complied and walked over. They saw a plump person sitting on the ground with an injured arm, receiving bandaging, and this plump individual seemed very angry, cursing under his breath.

Gu Fan and Su Hui exchanged glances, wanting to say something when suddenly they heard a succession of footsteps and shouting. Su Hui, drawing on instinct and experience, knew the newcomers were not simple and quickly pulled Gu Fan to a corner to hide.

Sure enough, a group of people with an imposing aura arrived. Seeing the plump individuals, both sides immediately took up arms and started shooting at each other. Bullets flew wildly, and the scene started to get out of control.

The newly arrived group had more people and more guns, holding a firepower advantage and forcing the plump group to retreat. Even those who were shot lay on the ground unable to be pulled to safety by their comrades.

Because Gu Fan and Su Hui were hiding in the alley around the corner, they avoided the bullets, but hearing them whizzing by was nerve-wracking; this was no joking matter.

The plump group retreated to where Gu Fan was and then turned into the same small alley. However, the last one was out of luck, got shot, and collapsed on the ground, his gun falling at Su Hui’s feet.

"My luck is really good!" Su Hui picked up the gun, instantly making the plump group nervous, fearing she might turn it on them.

Su Hui smiled faintly, "I’ll cover you. You guys go first, Gu Fan follow them!"

"Okay!" Gu Fan made a gesture, but those chubby people seemed baffled, not understanding why Gu Fan and Su Hui would offer help.

However, as the pursuit grew closer, the chubby folk didn’t have time to ponder. While retreating, they kept an eye on their chasers, and Gu Fan followed them closely.

Walking backwards, Su Hui aimed her gun at the corner. As soon as she saw a figure rushing in, she fired and brought them down. Another appeared, and she fired again. Three shots in a row, all hitting their mark, wounding three pursuers, who fell to the ground wailing.

The pursuers were intimidated by Su Hui’s marksmanship and dared not enter the alley. Su Hui, having correctly gauged their mindset, quickly caught up with Gu Fan and the chubby people.

And so, Gu Fan and Su Hui, together with the chubby people, fled, twisting and turning through the streets and alleys, unsure of their destination, even hearing the nearby gunshots until a piercing police siren brought some stillness.

They arrived at a rundown warehouse, a landing spot for the chubby people, but they hesitated, seeming still wary of Gu Fan and Su Hui and showed no intention of opening the door.

Gu Fan said, "We just saved you, now it’s your turn to help us out, and we’ll call it even," and then he took a wallet from Su Hui’s pocket and handed it to the chubby people.

"Hey, that’s my wallet," Su Hui protested, reaching out to retrieve her wallet, but Gu Fan stopped her.

Amongst the chubby people was a formidable boss who declined the wallet and then looked at Gu Fan and Su Hui intently. Finally, he nodded at his subordinates, signaling they could let them in.

The warehouse door opened, everyone entered, and the door immediately shut. The chubby people then quickly aimed their guns at Gu Fan and Su Hui.

Gu Fan immediately raised his hands in surrender, "We’re not your enemies. We’ve just saved you, remember?"

Boss Pan nodded indifferently, "You did save us once, but that doesn’t mean we can trust you. Moreover, you seem to have been following us the whole time. What exactly are you up to?"

Gu Fan gave a wry smile, "You’ve seen through me. It seems you’re the boss here, so I’ll just be straight with you. I’ve run into trouble and need a local gang to do something for me, obviously for a fee. That’s why I saved you—I wanted to try my luck, in case you were the gang I was looking for."

"Help you with something?" Boss Pan frowned, still not willing to trust Gu Fan.

Gu Fan continued, "I have some things that can’t see the light of day, and I need capable people to help me smuggle them out quietly to international waters. Someone will be there to receive them. If you can help me, name your price."

After hearing this, most people would think Gu Fan very generous, but Su Hui felt a pang of regret inside: "It’s not your money, Gu Fan, so you don’t care at all, right?"

Boss Pan scrutinized Gu Fan thoroughly, as if trying to determine whether he was lying.

Very seriously, Gu Fan spoke, "If I wanted to harm you, why would I have saved you? It’s unnecessary, right?"

"I’m sorry, but in these extraordinary times, I can’t trust anyone, and I can’t let you go out and reveal my whereabouts, so..." As he spoke, Boss Pan raised his gun and aimed it at Gu Fan’s head, signaling that the negotiation had fallen through.
