Chapter 677: Chapter 677: Saved the Person Who Shouldn’t Have Been Saved

In addition to the fighting, there were also sounds of insult. Even Gu Fan and Su Hui heard Lisa’s shout; it seemed she was in trouble.

Gu Fan and Su Hui cautiously approached, their hearts pounding with fear that this might be a trap set by Lisa.

Getting closer now, Gu Fan and Su Hui hid in a corner, peeking out to see Lisa fighting against several Wandering Sea Ghosts.

Lisa originally had the advantage in both speed and strength, but the bit of Qi she absorbed from Gu Fan was not enough. After striking three of them away, she was repelled by the other converging Wandering Sea Ghosts.

The situation was looking grim; Lisa seemed to be outmatched. Eventually, she was barely able to stand, too weak to do anything but watch as the enemies approached.

The Wandering Sea Ghosts were ruthless, grabbing Lisa’s hair and laughing triumphantly. Gu Fan couldn’t understand their language, so he didn’t know what they were saying, but based on their expressions, they were out for revenge.

The Wandering Sea Ghosts tied Lisa to a piece of wood. Gu Fan quickly realized their sinister intent. It was daylight, and if Lisa surfaced, even if she materialized, she would turn to ash. These foes were cunning.

Should they help or not? Gu Fan knew the enemy of his enemy was his friend, but the enemy was still an enemy. If they helped Lisa and drove away the other Wandering Sea Ghosts, Lisa might turn against them in turn.

Su Hui thought they should escape stealthily while the other Wandering Sea Ghosts hadn’t noticed them.

Just as Gu Fan agreed and decided to leave, a Wandering Sea Ghost passed through the wall, seeing Gu Fan and Su Hui, and instantly started shouting.

The other Wandering Sea Ghosts realized there were people here, letting out roaring cheers. They were thrilled; they had been getting worried about their dwindling supply of living prey.

"We’ve got no choice but to fight!" Su Hui launched herself forward, accelerating and leaping into the air, landing beautifully with a triple kick that knocked a Wandering Sea Ghost down.

These Wandering Sea Ghosts, even though they had become physical, their strength and speed were significantly inferior to Lisa’s and the boss’s. Moreover, the Qi they absorbed wasn’t enough, weakening them significantly.

"What the hell! You guys are so much weaker than before." Su Hui repelled the Wandering Sea Ghosts with a punch and a kick.

Not just Su Hui, Gu Fan also swung into action, his combo punches leaving a Wandering Sea Ghost disoriented.

Watching Gu Fan and Su Hui gain the upper hand, Lisa became anxious: "Idiots, hurry up and get me out of here."

"Huh?" Before Gu Fan could react, the knocked-down Wandering Sea Ghosts got back on their feet again, grinning wickedly as though mocking their futile efforts.

Only then did Gu Fan and Su Hui realize, these Wandering Sea Ghosts had a resilience to blows far surpassing normal humans. They took the strikes and gradually exhausted Lisa’s Qi, hence they were able to capture her.

"We have no choice. Gu Fan, you take Lisa and go first." After saying this, Su Hui charged into action. Her physical strength and skills were exceptional. She timed her punches and kicks perfectly, sending every Wandering Sea Ghost down one after another.

Gu Fan immediately came forward to assist Lisa, glancing back at Su Hui, only to see all the Wandering Sea Ghosts getting back up again.

"Sister Su, hurry up." Saying this, Gu Fan quickened his pace. He knew with a wounded person they wouldn’t be able to move fast, so they had to get a head start.

"I know!" Once again, Su Hui launched a succession of attacks, knocking down the advancing Wandering Sea Ghosts, then without looking back, she chased after them.

Just as expected, the knocked-down Wandering Sea Ghosts got up again, showing no sign of retreat.

Together, Gu Fan and Su Hui helped Lisa and quickened their pace, hoping to shake off their enemies.

However, Lisa gave a bitter smile: "I never thought you guys would still help me, but I’m afraid the three of us won’t be able to escape this time."

"Enough already, no more negative talk. We’ll be able to get out of here." Gu Fan firmly believed this. Since fate had aligned this way, it wouldn’t end here.

Yet the reality was some of the Wandering Sea Ghosts, despite being nonphysical and unable to touch Gu Fan, easily floated through the air and effortlessly passed through walls, sticking close to Gu Fan, Su Hui, and Lisa.

The other Wandering Sea Ghosts, hearing the shouts from their companions, knew the direction Gu Fan and the others had gone and immediately gave chase.

"Damn it! You two go first!" Regardless of how depleted her strength was, Su Hui handed Lisa over to Gu Fan and turned around to fight against the Wandering Sea Ghosts once more.

Gu Fan seized the opportunity and ran forward with Lisa. Gradually, he began to feel exhausted. After all, he had been fighting and running, which was extremely tiring.

Lisa gave a bitter laugh: "It’s no use, these creatures won’t go down. They will keep hounding you until you’re completely drained."

"Bastards!" Gu Fan also realized they couldn’t get away, but he couldn’t possibly give up.

Not long after, Su Hui caught up. She was already panting heavily, almost completely drained, and yet, what was worse, the Wandering Sea Ghosts were closing in again.

Seeing a room up ahead, Gu Fan, Su Hui, and Lisa rushed in and shut the door, barricading it with whatever items they could find.

In this moment of crisis, Gu Fan said: "I regret not taking your advice before. Is it too late to become like you now?"

"It’s too late!" Lisa, sitting on the ground, sighed deeply. Then, as if something amusing crossed her mind, she showed a wry smile: "I can’t believe I’ve been saved by you guys twice. Is this some sort of joke?"

Gu Fan comforted her, "Don’t say that, we didn’t intend to save you, it’s just a coincidence."

Hearing his words, Lisa rolled her eyes: "Even at a time like this, can’t you say something comforting?"

"Sorry, I’m a bit too blunt." Gu Fan made an apologetic face, then saw a Wandering Sea Ghost pass through the wall and glare at him.

Su Hui’s heart sank: "She knew it wouldn’t be long before they found us here. If we don’t find a way to counter, we might really end up with nowhere to run this time."

Sure enough, barely five minutes had passed before the Wandering Sea Ghosts tracked them down. They began to pound and ram the door while shouting loudly. Even though Gu Fan and Su Hui couldn’t understand their language, they knew that the Ghosts were saying they wouldn’t escape.

"Oh god, not again! This will never end." Gu Fan and Su Hui used all their strength to hold the door, but the enemies were numerous. Each assault nearly sent Gu Fan and Su Hui flying.
