Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 658: So Many Ships

Chapter 658: Chapter 658: So Many Ships

"Oh, God, as expected, women really hold grudges," Gu Fan said, showing a mischievous grin. He then asked, "Lisa, how much do you weigh?"

"What does that have to do with anything?" Lisa frowned, sensing that something was amiss.

All of a sudden, Gu Fan shouldered Lisa’s statue and broke out in laughter. "Let’s do an experiment. Dawn is breaking soon. If you don’t sink with the island by then, I want to know what would happen if we move you to our ship."

Upon hearing this, Lisa’s face fell. "Gu Fan, you bastard, I won’t let you off."

"How strange. I don’t remember you ever letting me off," Gu Fan said. He then winked at Ouyang Jin, who understood him and immediately shot a flare into the sky to guide their ship.

A whistle echoed, signaling Gu Fan’s reinforcement — the indication that help was on the way, serving as a beacon of hope for Lu Yi, Leng Le, and others.

Gu Fan smirked as he carried Lisa on his shoulder. "You were silly to let the sea snakes go, weren’t you? Well, now let’s see who can save you."

"Don’t go too far," Lisa warned, riddled with regret. But since even half of her stone statue was intact, she couldn’t fight back.

Lisa swore when her arms could move again, she would kill Gu Fan on the spot.

The ship’s horn blared a second time, indicating that it was drawing near. An overjoyed Lu Yi said, "We made it. We actually made it."

Gu Fan was also elated. "So, Lisa, are you choosing to come back with me forcibly and turn to ashes under the daylight or staying here to live?"

With gritted teeth, Lisa finally gave in. "What do you even want, Gu Fan?"

"Say ’I love you.’" Gu Fan made this brazen request, infuriating Lisa. A ship loomed out the fog and left her with no other choice. "Fine, Gu Fan, I love you. I’ve been completely smitten with you from the moment I first laid eyes on you."

"Good. I love hearing the truth." Gu Fan shamelessly smirked; not only Lisa, even Lu Yi, Leng Le and others were about to throw up.

With a nonchalant air, Gu Fan pressed on, "Now tell me, what secrets does this island hold? Why can’t you leave it easily?"

"I don’t know. I’m here because someone told me I could find eternal life, and I got trapped. I recall a ray of light hitting me, and then I passed out. When I woke up, I was a Wandering Sea Ghost." Lisa’s story startled everyone. After a moment of shock, Gu Fan muttered to himself. If turning into a Wandering Sea Ghost was another form of immortality, this could indeed be a place of ancient Super Civilization.

"Then what secrets is this island hiding? How can we reveal them?" As Gu Fan asked this key question, a violent wave surged towards them.

Lisa seized the opportunity and headbutted Gu Fan, seeing stars. Unable to keep his balance, he accidentally let Lisa slip from his shoulder.

The seawater swallowed Lisa’s statue as soon as it hit the ground. Despite this, Gu Fan was not prepared to give up; this was an opportunity he had waited so long for.

Gu Fan groped in the seawater for a while but found no sign of Lisa. Realizing he was too late as he spotted a fair arm emerging from the water, he decided to retreat.

The ship arrived, carried by the tide. Gu Fan, Leng Le, and Lu Yi boarded the ship soaking wet. On deck, they were relieved to find their friends, including their boss and Su Hui. They were all safe and sound.

"Turn around right now. Immediately!" Cried Gu Fan. Simultaneously, the mist began to dissolve.

Lisa stood up from the sea, her gaze ice-cold as she watched their receding ship. She yelled with all the hatred she could muster, "You bastard, Gu Fan! I won’t let you off. And I don’t love you one bit! I hate you to the core!"

Hearing her words and the strange looks received from the crew, Gu Fan managed to break into an awkward smile.

They made it back to their cargo ship. Everyone clambered aboard and a drained Lu Yi slumps on the deck as soon as he reached it.

Seeing everyone safely returned, Lin Xi asked, "How are you all doing? What did you find on the island?"

Lu Yi recounted their adventures, leaving Lin Xi aghast. She turned her interrogating gaze towards Gu Fan.

Gu Fan raised his hands in surrender. "I didn’t expect to bump into Lisa under these circumstances. Luckily, she wasn’t able to move freely. I managed to coerce some valuable intel out of her."

"Really?" Lin Xi squinted her eyes, shooting Gu Fan a dubious look. "You’re pretty slick, Gu Fan. You not only coerced her into spilling valuable intel but also made her confess her love for you."

"Ahh!" Gu Fan was taken aback by her gaze. He hurriedly responded, "Lin Xi, don’t overthink it. I was just trying to break down her mental defenses."

"Really?" Lin Xi’s gaze was still filled with skepticism.

At that moment, Gu Ling pointed outside, "Look, everyone, the island has completely submerged."

Hearing this, everyone rushed to take a look. Grateful to Gu Ling for changing the subject, Gu Fan quickly added, "It’s alright. The island will surface again. Now that we know its location, finding it again will be a piece of cake."

The crew’s morale was low. Ouyang Jin voiced, "Next time, we need to find an effective way to handle Lisa and those sea snakes."

They knew they couldn’t set foot on the island without solving those issues. Pretending to be deep in thought, Gu Fan secretly celebrated that Lin Xi seemed to have dropped the matter.

An hour later, the fog had completely cleared and the sky began to brighten, although it was obscured by dark, ominous clouds.

The captain ran over in a fluster, "Excuse me, everyone, we seem to have run into some problems. You might want to come and take a look."

"What?" The crew followed him to the stern of the ship. As their eyes adjusted to the scene before them, they were stunned. So many ships — one, two, three; too many to count. Their grand scale resembled an army. The pirates’ attire and the guns in their hands confirmed their suspicion: These were pirates from the heart of the Triangle Sea Area. But which Pirate Gang had such a large force?

Behind the fleet of the Pirate Alliance, on an inconspicuous ship, Qian Feng sat on deck, swinging her glass of drink. Her lips curled into a smile, "Long time no see, Qian Ye. Do you like my welcome gift?"
